Transcript

This is the ad-free patron cut. Timestamps have been removed for readability.

Dumbgeons and Dragons will begin in a moment.

Bonwyn, you walk over to this box on the desk and its nameplate has been removed.

And inside, you pull out a note and read, some memories are still being written.

As everyone else looks around the room, there is a teacher's desk off into one side.

There is also another door in this room immediately to the right as you enter.

That's what you see at this moment.

So you've got the chalkboard, you've got the teacher's desk, you've got the bottles,

which seems like hundreds of them hanging overhead.

There are the keepsake boxes.

And the room itself is noticeably much more quiet than every other room that you've

been in so far.

I'd say Bizard would go over to the desk and see what kind of textbooks the

teacher would have ready for teaching class.

As you walk over to the desk, there's a chair that's tucked in and on top of the desk,

there are cards, very similar to the one you see Bonwyn holding.

However, as you kind of flip them open, they all appear to be blank.

There are a couple of drawers, you pull them open, there's some writing utensils,

not scraps of paper, but stacks of paper.

But there aren't actually any textbooks.

I'm going to take one card and I'm going to write all these cards are blank and put

it apart from the stack and just walk away.

Your brain works differently than my brain and I like it.

I know, it's so great.

Weird fucking riddle-y thing to try to riddle-y.

I know there's not a puzzle to solve, but it seems right to do.

I'm going to throw a reverse riddle at it, I love it.

I just tuck a reverse Uno, reverse card right in one of the boxes and I walk away.

This is taken care of now.

Dumbgeons and Dragons is a D&D actual play podcast and I'm your dungeon master Russ

More, he, him.

Also with me today is Amy More as Alydin, she, her.

Yeah, if I take something though, I think it's just stealing.

Carla Maxted as Bonwyn Everbane, she, her.

This is not built for the shorts.

Tom Laird as Kavlaran Goldweave, he, him.

No, I'm going to be stuck on this ball bearing for a little bit Russ.

And Kyle Claset as Bizard the Wizard, he, him.

And create a small needle that just juts right into my eye.

Now, fuck it, let's play.

So right beside you, Bizarre is another doorway.

Kav, what are you doing as you enter?

I guess Bonwyn as well, you have like actually read a card.

So both of you in turn, what do you do?

I probably just like pick up the box, see like they're not attached to the desks, right?

They're all just kind of sitting there.

Yeah, correct.

Yeah.

I mean, how snoopy am I?

We're playing a game, so I need to be a bit snoopy.

Maybe I'm just like walking up and down and like kind of flipping them open, seeing

what's in there.

If they all just have, if they have notes there or people have, because you said

they look like keepsake boxes, maybe people just have their little treasures in them.

Do the names match what we saw in the, in the attendance room?

There were desks with boxes for Maelyn Everbane, Heron Linger, Janelle Wasan,

and others.

But those were the ones we knew.

So I wrote them down.

Yes.

Is there like built in shelves anywhere?

Can I go like test if those are sturdy or if they can move?

Maybe slide to the side, showing in passes.

Is there a little door?

Like a little door that'll open?

Is there a brick that we could touch?

Along, as you enter along the leftmost wall, there is a series of big wooden

drawers almost all the way to the ceiling.

There's a window above them.

So probably like a four or five foot clearance.

But yeah, there's lots of these drawers along the one side.

Bonwyn's just thinking, how did my short little dwarven GGGGGGma deal with this

school because I can't reach fucking nothing in here.

Things are on the ceiling.

This is not built for the shorts.

Good observation.

Gav, as you walk over there, there's you start pulling some of them open and

they appear to be drawers that are assigned to the students and inside

there are things they would find around the town, around nature.

Like there's sticks.

There's a spoon in one.

There's a small stuffed toy.

Nothing inherently school related in these drawers.

OK.

Is there like a nameplate to indicate which student that like each drawer is

for? Yeah.

And you see a lot of the similar names that you've run into before.

And as you perhaps reach for one, let's say, Heron Linger,

you pull them open and it's almost like there's a small breeze that comes

in from outside.

And then you hear the clinking of the bottles up above you.

Inside their specific drawer, it is filled with what looked to be well

worn river stone.

Okie dokie.

With the clinking above, does anything appear different?

No, it draws your attention in the light in the room.

Everybody sees fractals out among the room.

You see kind of this rainbow hue strewn about.

And inside one of the memory bottles, you see as quick glance,

you're looking all of them as far as you can see, have little folded up

notes inside of them.

But there's one that you can see that looks like it has something else

wrapped up in a piece of fabric.

Oh, well, I'd like that one.

OK, you reach up your.

I mean, Cab's one of the tallest of.

I was going to say as a tall, I just like grab that shit.

You can grab it. You try to pull it down.

You've got to untie it.

So it takes you a second.

Alydin, what are you doing as Cab is doing that?

I'm I'm going around and I'm checking out all the boxes on the desks

and just kind of seeing what's inside of these things.

Yeah, you open one from Junel Foyson and inside is a pressed flower

that has a label on it and it says the day I wasn't afraid.

Is that the only thing in the box?

That's the only thing inside that box.

Bonwyn, you keep moving up and down the path and you come across

MAlydin's move to open the box.

And inside is a tiny bent iron nail wrapped in cloth.

And you pick up the little card that's written with it

and it says the first thing I repaired myself.

Have you managed to untie the memory bottle and pull it down

and you pop the top off and shake everything out and you unwrap the

I guess, do you read the do you read the note

or do you unwrap the item first?

Oh, I didn't realize there was a note and an item.

I got to read the note first.

Absolutely. Is it like super rolled up?

Can I like unroll it like a tiny little scroll?

Absolutely. Yeah. Excellent.

So you unroll that and it says

we all waved goodbye to the hall monitor today

and you feel the item still wrapped up in your hand

and it feels spherical.

You untie it and open up the fabric

and it looks like just a small metal ball bearing.

OK, can I do like an Arcana check or anything

to see if I get any vibes from it?

Absolutely. He's going to tell you.

You get vibes. He's not going to tell you what kind of vibes.

So that is a 1212 on the Arcana.

You get as you roll it around in your fingers,

you get distinct vibes that this is a ball bearing.

OK, chill. Yeah.

Did we have something that said something similar to that in a previous

room that sounds familiar?

Something about ball bearings. Was it on a board?

No, no, something.

It appears to be a ball bearing.

No, something about saying goodbye to the hall monitor.

Yeah, that did ring a bell. One of the journals, one of the journals

or pictures said like something like the hall monitor says

goodbye to every student.

Oh, you're right. That is yes.

See, why can I remember stupid shit like that?

That probably is very inconsequential.

ADHD. What if it's the key to the whole thing?

It might be the most important thing we've ever had.

This case is blown wide open now.

We got the smoking gun.

The the exact one was in the last room that you were in.

And it was it said the hall monitor says goodbye to every classroom.

Yeah, you got it.

Steel fucking trap right here.

God damn hourglass.

I think about that once a week, once a week.

I think about that.

I spend far too long thinking about hourglasses.

I love it because I see them.

And every time I see one, it makes me think of you.

And I'm like hourglass.

Yeah, I love it.

There's more around than you would think.

Because it does come up like.

Semi-regularly great.

I'm going to open that door.

We're trying to distinctly missing from this room.

Obviously, there is another door, but you do not see the hall monitor

that that did enter here.

And bizarre, you go to open the door and it is locked at this moment.

Like the door to exit the well, there's the door that you came in,

which is still a jar, but there's a door immediately to the right

behind the desk or beside the desk.

And that one is yeah, that one is locked.

OK, another locked door over here.

So and all of these cards are blank, except for this one.

Well, finding anything of merit.

I don't know, just a little memento from from Malin.

First thing she repaired.

And I just kind of hold it up.

That's a neat keepsake.

Yeah, yeah. Are you going to keep it?

I didn't know if I should keep it.

I put it. This one had a flower.

And this is just my own justification.

But this is like my inheritance, right?

Like she would want you to have it.

She'd probably want me to have it.

Yeah, if I take something, though, it's I think it's just stealing.

Well, we don't know where these people are, if it's been like.

So many generations, I don't know.

What's the statute of limitation on?

Exactly. I would feel weird about just ransacking the place, but.

What do you find, Cav?

I got this cool ball bearing.

Interesting.

Mechanical, not a lot of mechanical stuff in here,

except for whatever we're like hearing, maybe.

Yeah, all right. It came with this note, too.

And I tell them the contents of the note, Russ.

So these all have little notes with them about

a memory or something that happened.

Yeah, it seems like it.

Should we open all of them?

Is there something important in all of them?

Well, you think like it like it's like one of those improv

games where everybody gets one word to tell a story.

Alastair, you hear a soft close of one of the boxes.

I forgot about that kid.

Yeah, he's still here. Right.

He's got to be bad news, but that's for another time.

I'm I'm fine.

He's fine until he's not fine.

Yeah, he you hear a close of one of the boxes.

He's holding in his hand.

Wait, Russ, did he put like Pretty Woman himself,

where he like went to the box and then like.

Yeah, exactly.

Yeah, we just look over like, what are you doing?

He he closes and he's holding in his hand a what looks like

a broken pencil that's been carefully mended, carefully glued back together.

It says I there's something that I'm having trouble piecing together.

This school, if it is connected to the archive, like archives preserve events,

whereas this school seems to be preserving.

Yeah, like the memories and the and the observations

that they all made in the last room and this one, certain memories.

Yeah, that's actually what I was interested at.

Bonwyn, you mind if I see Maylens nail?

Of course.

And when I take that, I'm going to try to like I've used that

that spell and code thoughts before I'm going to try to see

if I can evoke a thought or memory out of the archive.

I'm going to try to do that.

I'm going to try to see if I can evoke a thought or memory

out of the item using that spell.

Oh, OK.

Tom and I are very impressed.

Always. And sorry.

Which item was the pencil or the ball bearing?

It was the nail. The nail.

Sorry. Yeah. Yeah.

I figured I'd go for the person.

I've had the closest, closest connection.

Yeah. Got it. Perfect.

Yes.

OK. What do you how do you want to do it?

What do you want to do?

Essentially, like, you know, so for me,

what I do is I just kind of pull it out of my brain.

So what I'm going to try to do is cast the spell,

but pull it out of the nail at the same time.

Essentially, I'm altering.

I'm going to attempt to alter the somatic components of my spell

to redirect where the arcane energy is pulled from.

Instead of for me, it's being pulled from the nail.

I like it. Is there a check that you normally have to roll for this one?

I you could make me roll an arcana check

if you want to see if that works or not.

That was going to be my my thing.

If you didn't have if you didn't have a normal check for it.

But no, this is this is me making bullshit up, man.

Love it. Let's roll an arcana check. Awesome.

That's going to be an 18. I like it.

It was off camera.

So you know that that's where we got it from.

So, yeah.

And for those people on the Patreon listening to this middle right now,

you should take care of yourself, too.

Yeah. You make your own health a priority. Absolutely.

Take care of yourself and do a kindness to the people you love

who are bad at doing that for themselves and force them to do it.

Oh, my God. I'm so kind to the people I love and me.

I'm like, you will work for every scrap.

Of course, I'm like everyone else prioritize yourself.

You're the best to me.

I'm like, you fucking loser. Get your shit together.

Yeah. Like, yeah. Yeah.

I went to work.

It's like if you don't watch TV, you're not sick.

That's what I remember growing up.

You can't play video games if you're sick.

Oh, but that's when you excel.

He did not get raised in that household, you guys.

When he was sick, he got popsicles.

I got to watch TV and comic books and videos.

I got sequestered to my room.

By the time the third kid came around, my mom was like, whatever.

You handle it. Yeah, that's about right.

This is why Russ is such a bAlydinced and normal individual.

So great.

Parents are restricted based on.

You weren't punished for being sick.

You weren't early that you had value.

And I love that for you.

Thank you. I love it for me, too.

I'll say I was blessed by Bob Barker.

Like many children of my age.

Indeed. So, yeah, you know.

Yeah, that was the good part of growing up.

Yeah. Of course, Drew Carey is not doing too bad from what I hear.

It is Drew Carey, right?

It is Drew Carey.

I believe it's Drew Carey again.

Yeah, see, Drew, he's not the same as Bob Barker, but you know.

Well, yeah. Yeah.

Still doing the pets thing.

I think they do that.

I don't know. I assume.

Yeah. Yeah.

I think Drew Carey is a nice person.

I really hope I'm not wrong, but I get that from what I know.

Well, he is like just a nice person.

I know when they had the last writer's strike

and the one previous, he literally like there's a restaurant

where guild members can go and eat for free because Drew Carey

just covers it. Yeah.

Well, they're. Yeah.

Which is pretty dope.

So yeah. Yeah.

Anyway, this is the middle.

And we just talk about what and not sponsored by Drew Carey.

But no, we're not.

Yeah. I mean, I hear he's really nice.

So if he wants to like hit us up on Patreon, that'd be cool.

Yeah. He could be our mysterious, crazy benefactor.

I love that. Absolutely.

But instead, we have all these wonderful benefactors

who are listening to us right now.

We sure do. That's right.

Who's extra super special today.

Extra special benefactor.

Yes. The extra the extra special BFF person

who gets the episode dedication is Jason Quinn.

Jason. Thanks so much.

I didn't I didn't even put this middle down on the agenda

and you guys just jumped right into it.

We just roll into it.

We are seasoned professionals, Ross.

The universe was telling me Jason Quinn needs something,

something special just for them today.

And here we are talking about Drew Carey and Jason Quinn,

two of the nicest people in Hollywood.

I have a question for Jason.

And if he could maybe get back to us on Patreon

or in the Discord, that'd be great.

Anyone ever say Jason Quinn, medicine man?

God damn it. You did it.

I was thinking about making that.

I didn't want to make the joke, but I'm curious about it.

You know, like original Amy. I'm not.

But I want to know.

Is Dr. Quinn, medicine woman, your mom?

Maybe, maybe.

Is he Jason Quinn, medicine boy?

Like, I don't know. We don't know how old Jason is.

So yeah, could be mother, could be good.

He's a medicine boy, I assume. Seven, seven or eight.

Yeah, that sounds right. He's so precocious.

Like a new age Doogie Howser.

Yeah, I like all these references are so old.

And it makes me so happy.

Aiden tried to make Dr.

Quinn. Oh, totally.

Aiden tried to make a Dr.

Quinn, medicine woman like reference to his physiotherapist,

whose name is Quinn, and just nothing.

Oh, absolutely.

Yeah, over. I don't know what that is.

I wasn't forced to watch that.

Well, my parents also watched that growing up.

Forced? That was the shit.

Well, it's back on Netflix.

If their marketing emails are telling me anything,

because they've been telling me literally every day for like a month.

That you have to be watching Dr.

Quinn, medicine woman.

And now it's Jason Quinn.

I think maybe it's a sign.

Well, the first were advertisements, but this one might be a sign.

What was the back to back?

It was because it was Dr.

Quinn, was it Walker Texas Ranger that came on after that?

That sounds right.

Like, I feel like those two were there, at least for a window.

Maybe a little house.

I feel like one of those has aged better than the other.

Well, yeah, like I feel like.

Yeah, yeah.

Yeah, anyway.

Oh, God loved Quantum Leap.

Classic.

Yeah, Quantum Leap and any Star Trek

were usually on on the weekend morning.

And that was what Dad watched was Quantum Leap.

And well, he did chores.

Batten blared Def Leppard.

Hot sticky sweet.

Your dad blared Def Leppard?

That. Fascinating.

That would not have been my guess.

I've met your dad many times,

and that would not have been my guess.

And I love it.

I love it.

That's fantastic.

Oh, wow.

Wow.

That makes me really happy.

I'll make it worse.

He's also where I got David Wilcox fascination from, too.

So, you know.

Your dad's kind of filthy, Hayes.

Molts of two.

Wow.

The shit I've heard come out of that man's mouth, you guys.

Oh, my goodness.

He is such a, like, respectable, nice dad man.

He really is.

Until you play Pole Economy.

And then he's talking about your beaver all night.

Wow.

OK.

Sorry, Gorge.

I know you're not listening.

That's OK.

Yeah.

He's not a patron.

We can say we're not.

Once he gets inflation under control, too?

Or is that just you?

Although he usually did get thrown under that bus, too.

So, yeah.

Oh, my goodness.

Well, is this a middle?

Or is this a previously known as a good middle?

This was the middle for Jason Quinn.

What did we talk about on today's?

What did we learn today, everybody?

Dr. Quinn followed by Walker, Texas Ranger.

Close.

Walker was at 10.

I did some Googling.

Oh, OK.

Dr. Quinn met a woman at 8, early edition at 9.

And then 10 was Walker.

And taking care of yourself.

Always.

Always.

And taking care of yourself.

Oh, right.

That's how we started.

100%.

That's how we started.

But it took a turn.

Brought it all the way back around.

As it does.

Because doctors.

That's right.

So if you're a Discord member,

and you obviously are because you're listening to this

right now, and you aren't coming to the Discord

downtime, this is basically what it is.

Yeah, this is a mini Discord downtime.

We just like, it's just a stream of consciousness

with five people.

Or will it be something totally different because I'm

running in this house for something completely different?

Come join us.

Who knows?

Patreon.com.

You're already here.

You don't have to go to Patreon.

Join us, people.

Join us the first Tuesday of the month.

Pull the cord.

Unless y'all leak it.

Unless y'all leak it.

I don't know.

But even then, whatever.

Leak it.

Yeah, it's fine.

Look, if you want to go to the effort of doing that,

have at it.

I know, that seems like, yeah, go for it.

For this extra seven minutes, absolutely.

I think we're doing something right if people

want to leak our shit.

So you don't fucking have at it.

But we will get you back to the episode.

Thank you again, Jason and everybody.

Have a great week.

We'll talk to you very soon.

Love you, bye.

Love you, bye.

Love you, bye.

OK, describe to me what it looks like.

So as I begin to cast the spell,

instead of the typical little mind booger

that comes out of me, the filings

and rough edges of the nail begin

to stand on and almost affected by magnetism.

And they begin to draw out and create

a small, small needle that just juts right into my eye.

Oh, my god.

Wow.

And Bizard, are you OK?

I take a moment.

And if I see anything, what do I see?

Everybody else sees that.

And for you, Bizard, it's like time stands still

as this needle enters your eye.

So all of your friends are reaching for you

in panic, in fear, in trying to check you.

And as they freeze in this moment,

the wind picks back up from outside.

And those bottles begin to clink together again.

And you, whether by force of the actual event

or by arcane decision, look up into them.

And these bottles clinking together

begin to blur and fade into this vision.

And you see who you can presume is a very young Malin Everbane

working at one of the desks along the side of the room,

which you can see across the classroom from where you are

now.

You see her gently heeding and hammering

and heeding and hammering.

And while she doesn't say anything,

she has a sense of accomplishment that comes across her.

And you've seen this same look in Baldwin

as she either finishes a job or hands over a gift or a job

that she's done particularly well on in her eyes.

While she doesn't say anything,

you get a feeling that in this room,

the children were trusted to preserve not only

their own story, but one another's story.

As this memory in and of itself finishes,

your spell almost hops to the ball bearing

that you see clutched in Kavlaran's hand.

You feel a pull to it.

And this memory begins to morph into the hall monitor.

It's not Joe.

It, in fact, looks like the same hall monitor that

walked by that you've seen in this place.

A lot of similarities there.

But you get this sense of a fact

that there is a fondness, almost a parental care

that this monitor is presenting and giving

to these kids.

And they are, I don't want to say eating it up,

but they're loving it.

There's kids wrapped around his wooden legs.

They're handing him cards.

They're showing him their drawings.

You can sense that this creature, this entity,

is very important to every student who passed through here.

And as one is going to hand the painting or the drawing

to the hall monitor, he reaches for it,

and then the memory sucks back.

And the shavings that formed into a needle,

you feel yourself crying them out of the eye.

Your eye begins to tear up.

And you can feel the shavings now dripping down your cheek

as everything comes back.

And the scene picks back up, and everybody's

rushing towards you.

Bizard, are you OK?

Are you OK?

Oh, my.

That was.

No, I'm fine.

But you see Bizard's entire left eye is now just solid gray

instead of being speckled.

So it's more like a solid gray on one side,

and the right side is green with speckles of gray on it

now.

I'm fine.

Got a little bit of an eye ache.

Look fine.

I bet you do.

She smacks her shiny eye and is like,

not that I can talk about that,

but I mean, it looks worse than it did before.

Well, I did learn, at least,

that how important Jo is to the school

and to the people in it.

And this room was meant to encourage the children

to keep track of their own memories

and help others with their stories.

So it's so nurturing.

It's a very, it's a different school environment.

Sounds nice, actually.

Yeah, it does.

So we should definitely try to figure out where he went.

Yeah, and what's, if the kids aren't here,

what's keeping him here?

Is it just the sense of duty that they could come back?

Is it that they are here just not in the same plane as us?

Like, they could be standing,

they could be sitting right there taking notes,

as far as I know, and we just don't have

the ability to see them.

That's so creepy.

Yeah, I don't love that.

It's possible.

I don't know if it's true.

I just keep an eye out for things.

Observe.

Wink.

Yeah, ow.

But I didn't know if that would work or not,

and sorry if it freaked you out.

Well, yeah, it did.

I mean, I just have a thing with eyes and foreign objects.

It's just, yeah.

Totally fair.

I did not know what was going to happen.

I was kind of freewheeling with magic,

and Alydin, take that as a lesson,

because you start freewheeling magic figuring things out.

You're not exactly sure what the end result is

going to be, positive, negative, injuries.

Zon in your eye.

Yeah.

Yeah.

Experimentation's always fun sometimes.

OK.

Alydin, as you are disturbed by the scene before you,

you kind of plunk yourself down in a desk and throw up a book.

And then jump up doesn't mean you just

sat on some other kid.

Right?

Yeah, and jump up.

And the desk you sit down at, the box is open.

It's not one that anybody has particularly looked at.

You look and you see the name Heron Linger on it,

and inside you see one small river stone.

Can't read the note inside.

Why?

Because it's upside down.

Oh, well.

Fuck you.

It was written with invisible ink,

and you don't have the little black light.

OK, well, I guess I never get to read that note.

It's upside down.

We'll never know.

You're reaching in.

I have a way to solve it.

And grab it.

I am playing with the rock and looking at the note.

It says, from the old shoreline.

So when did this lake dry up?

Mm.

What was it, hundreds of years ago?

I think, I mean, that's always kind of,

I think, what we were taught in school,

that many, many generations ago,

there had been the settlement here,

and then something happened with the lake,

and then they had to make Vindersmith because of that.

But it never, either we never learned,

or I just don't remember exactly what happened.

But it was a long time ago.

Well, this one says, this rock

is from the old shoreline.

Huh.

So the four things went bad?

I guess.

Yeah, because it was over time that the water was poisoned

and that they had to, I'm sure it just wind up dwindling.

So do you think, we saw the door pulsing

when we were messing with names?

Mm-hmm.

Do you think that manipulating or using these items,

like, I'm curious if that flower you found

and that stone, they come from the lake,

we take them there, does it bring the lake to life

in any sense of the archive?

Because these are archived items.

Right.

By the definition of archive,

technically these have been archived.

Do you want me to run them outside

and put them down where the lake was?

I think let's get behind this door

and talk to old Joe first.

So anybody can pick a lock?

Anybody?

I can, maybe.

And I do, and after you.

Have at it.

Because I was going to offer,

but let's get Alydin out there doing crimes.

Yeah.

Absolutely.

Alydin, do you keep the stone in your hand?

I put it in my bucket, yeah.

OK, yeah.

You put it in your bucket.

You put the lid from the box back down.

You hear a soft click as it closes.

And you begin walking over to the door

that Bizard was unable to open.

What do you do to?

Oh, I'm making a big show of it.

I'm like, ugh, cracking my knuckles.

Like, yeah, OK, so it's been a minute because I haven't,

not that I did it a lot.

I haven't had to in a while.

But I got some things.

And I'm rummaging through my bucket like, yeah, no.

It's like, they're way down here

because I haven't used them in such a long time.

And I take out my thieves tools.

And I start to try to pick the lock.

As you pull out the thieves tools

and you begin to move towards the lock, you hear,

everybody else hears it as well,

but you hear the hanging bottles begin to chime softly

together as like another breeze passes through.

How does that make me feel?

Is that like, is it like creepy or like wind chimes

and kind of pretty?

Yeah.

Is it nurturing or is it foreboding?

Did we determine where the breeze is coming from?

No, we don't.

Through the open door.

So you're assuming from outside.

I thought it was just a...

I thought it was a magical breeze.

Me too.

And I was just going with that.

Like, oh, it's fine.

It's a magic school.

There's almost a sense of like nostalgia.

So it's not good, not bad.

And as you reach towards the door,

before you even put the tools into the lock,

you hear a soft click of the mechanism.

I've done it again.

Proud of you.

Great work.

Job well done.

Thanks.

As you're showboating.

And anyone ever intimidate a lock open?

I mean, I didn't even see her like use the tools, but.

I'm gonna grab a card and write,

this lock was easy to pick.

Everybody else you see like over the top of Alydin.

Bizarre, you didn't see it before,

but it's definitely there now.

There's a plaque on the door.

Same as every other room you've walked into.

And it says craft.

Crafts.

This is the parenthetical that was next to Malin's name.

Yeah, it is.

Oh, I wanna open the door.

Let's get in there.

You unlocked it.

You opened it.

Go for it.

The door handle turns and immediately you're hit

with a...

Poison dart.

Poison dart.

It's been totally chill up to this point.

Damn it.

I should have checked for traps.

Rule for initiative.

Why am I like this?

No, you are hit with the scent of cedar,

oil and worked metal that fills the room.

It reminds you a lot of the forge.

Work benches stand in perfect rows,

each holding neatly organized hand tools.

They're half finished projects

that rest exactly where their makers left them.

Across, there's a chalkboard and written on it.

It says, repair what can be repaired.

Replace only what must be replaced.

Leave every craft stronger than you found it.
