[0.0s] Dumbgeons and Dragons will begin in a moment. [2.2s] Dumbgeons and Dragons is a D&D actual play podcast, and I'm your dungeon master Russ [31.9s] More, he him. Also with me today is Amy More as Alydin, she her. Carla Maxted as Bonwyn [39.2s] Everbane, she her. Tom Laird as Kavlaran Goldweave, he him. And then Kyle's playing [47.2s] a theremin, I love it. And Kyle Claset as Bizard the Wizard, he him. Dumbgeons and [54.2s] Dragons is a Patreon supported show made possible by listeners like you. Join us [59.4s] today at patreon.com slash dumbdragoncast and get a free seven day trial to try [64.6s] everything out over there. And now fuck it. Let's play. [72.7s] Dare is running real hard towards you. [76.0s] Run so hard. [77.8s] Bizard you had something prepped before. Absolutely give you that to try and stop [85.6s] this bear. [86.3s] Yeah, waving my arms as if I'm participating in this but really casting web to stop it [93.0s] because it's going to charge I can have a feeling about it. So yeah, that's [97.6s] going to be a DC 14 dexterity save. I'm going to center it right on it, make [103.8s] it as difficult as possible. [106.1s] That is going to be an 11. [108.8s] Okay, that is a fail. So it is restrained by the webs. They can take an [114.0s] action using a strength athletics check to break it. DC 14. [118.9s] Amazing. Okay, so this bear running towards you all fours you see it as the [124.8s] light kind of shines down on it. These mushroom caps coming out of what [129.9s] appear to be open wounds all along this bear's body has this well, I [138.1s] mean, angry look as it's tearing towards you as these webs shoot up in [142.2s] front of it and ensnare around it as it's scratching and clawing at it. [148.0s] What do we do? Do we run? We can't outrun it. [151.0s] You can start trying get down and I mean, I need to maintain [155.4s] concentration on the webs and hope that this thing is weak. [163.4s] Where are we? Are we there yet? [164.9s] There's a giant bear. [166.4s] Where? [167.0s] It's covered in mushrooms. [167.7s] Right there. [168.5s] What if what can we pull and push this card and run? [172.4s] I can push a cart. [175.3s] And then you, Bizarre, do you just focus on your web? [178.4s] I'm focusing and... [180.2s] But then what? I think we have to fight it. [185.2s] I know that's stupid, but Bizarre can't just stay here and concentrate [187.7s] on the bear all day and then he's going to try and run away and then [189.8s] it's going to chase him. [190.4s] I think he said we put him in the cart. [191.3s] Yeah, what if he sits in the cart and we like take off with him and [194.6s] we run and he can like keep the concentration going. [197.2s] Oh, smart. [199.4s] I'm not thinking clearly. [200.4s] Okay, that's a great idea. [201.5s] You hear the snapping of the webs as it's trying to trying to break free. [207.0s] Bizarre, as you climb into the back of the wagon, Alistair and whoever's [211.0s] pulling, Alistair's pushing, whoever's pulling, you barrel off. [216.3s] Okay, Cav, you're pulling. [218.1s] Barrel off down this path. [220.7s] Hey, Trees, if there's anything you can do right now to like do a little [224.2s] like a wall, that'd be great. [226.6s] There's a pause as you hear [229.6s] your voice delayed echo through the trees. [234.6s] You hear a roar from the bear come as you're running down this path and [239.9s] you hear that same wood creaking behind you. [244.1s] Go faster. [245.6s] Yeah, we're all just running and like I assume all pushing and pulling [248.4s] and like go faster. [251.7s] Since it snapped out of the web, I'm going to break concentration on that [255.5s] and I'm going to cast grease under it and try to make it fall. [259.3s] Okay, yes, I'm going to cast banana peel. [261.3s] Yeah, pretty much all of you moving down this hill. [264.2s] You see it come over the crest of this hill and the grease spreads out [270.1s] in front of it and like loses its footing like whoop whoop whoop whoop. [275.1s] How embarrassing. [276.4s] Oh, as Alydin, you see the roots extending from the side of the path, [283.1s] making their way towards the bear itself, closing in on the path around it. [288.7s] Oh, it's Alydin. [290.9s] The vines listen to you. [293.2s] OK, please keep doing that. [294.8s] Thank you so much, Vine Lord. [298.0s] I think that's what people would say. [300.3s] I would think so, yeah. [302.4s] I don't know how I feel about it. [308.0s] The bear looks like it's like trying to scratch at the ground and [312.0s] pick itself back up. [314.0s] It's kind of like when in the movies you actually get a dinosaur to fall down [320.8s] and then you are throwing the ropes over top of it. [323.9s] You think that's going to do anything? [324.9s] And you think it's going to do it and does it? [327.2s] Does it do it? [329.3s] Yeah, it manages to to get back up and the grease is pouring down the path. [336.0s] So give me a little extra room on this here. [340.2s] But the roots reach and like wrap themselves around the hind legs of this bear [345.8s] and it's clawing at them. [347.2s] It looks like its attention has been drawn away from you [350.3s] and is trying to bat away the roots and the vines that have have come out of the forest. [356.7s] Run. Thank you. [358.2s] So we just keep running, right? [360.0s] Yeah. Where are we going? [361.1s] Are we running back the way we came or we're running it like came from the side [365.4s] and we're continuing on? [366.8s] You continue running. [367.7s] You hear the the echoing sound of this bear off in the distance. [372.0s] You hear the snapping sound of trees and vines and that slowly fades away. [380.4s] You crest over another hill and you see the same scene that you saw before. [385.6s] You see smoke coming up off in the distance, but it doesn't look like it's any closer. [393.4s] Do you think that bear set that fire? [396.0s] Did you bear set fires here in Vintresmith? [399.2s] Well, bears don't have mushrooms growing out of them typically. [402.7s] No, that was new. [404.5s] That was gross. [405.8s] Yeah. A poor bear. [409.4s] It was so mad. [410.8s] I'm glad we didn't have to fight it. [412.6s] I've never fought a bear. [416.5s] Yeah, I fought a stag once. [420.0s] It's just looking into the middle distance. [422.2s] Yeah, and just just reliving some trauma more. [430.4s] I still have its fucking thing with me that I keep forgetting that I have. [435.6s] I can't even remember the word to it, guys. [438.2s] It's antlers. [439.7s] Did you take antler? [440.7s] It's hoof. [441.7s] It's yeah, you had you had a lot of things that you took with you. [448.1s] You had a lot of things that you took from it. [451.8s] You used every part of it because you're a conscientious hunter. [454.6s] Absolutely. [455.6s] You touched elk. [457.8s] So the antlers, yeah, you have the antlers of reflection. [461.5s] I have a hoof stone. [463.3s] Oh. [464.3s] You have an echoing hoof stone. [465.5s] What does that do? [467.0s] So once per day, you can use it to reroll a failed saving throw. [472.5s] God damn. [473.7s] When you use it, you can hear your own voice whisper the successful outcome a moment before [478.8s] it happens. [480.3s] And you have the ink vial or somebody has the ink vial of the archive and antlers of [486.6s] reflection. [488.3s] Antlers of reflection are pretty cool. [489.6s] I'm sure Bizard would have cast identify on that at least once. [494.2s] Like something similar. [496.6s] So the antlers of reflection, the effect of those while carrying one, the user can [501.0s] cast mirror image once per long rest. [504.7s] Oh, shit. [506.1s] Yeah, this is the middle part of the show where we rediscover all the things we've already [510.4s] received. [512.4s] It's my favorite part. [513.7s] Like, what? I've never even heard of that before. [515.2s] I always learned so much. [516.5s] I know. [517.2s] Bizard, Arcana or Insight. [520.5s] Is this in reference to the smoke? [523.2s] Uh, yes. [526.0s] OK, I'm going to go with Arcana. [529.4s] Nineteen. [530.4s] You pick up that this visual that you've seen now twice. [536.9s] I think you may can't remember if it was in the downtime or in the episode, but you [540.8s] drew the illusion, the effect that if the sound is creating a distortion, perhaps there [549.2s] are some visuals that are creating a distortion too. [552.7s] There could be in your inventory something that may help with an illusory effect that [562.9s] was recently purchased. [564.4s] The fade dampening cordial, maybe? [568.2s] I would guess on the anchoring drought, since it seems like we're being displaced [574.4s] and there's spatial distortion. [581.6s] And then Kyle's playing a theremin. [583.0s] I love it. [585.6s] But who drinks it? [588.4s] Can't be all of us. [589.2s] It has to be one. [591.1s] I mean, I didn't purchase that one, so I don't think I'm drinking it. [594.8s] I didn't either. [596.6s] Oh, I thought somebody said they purchased it. [598.8s] Well, I thought it was Bonwyn. [600.5s] Yeah, I thought Bonwyn purchased it. [602.4s] Did I? [603.0s] I thought it was Alydin. [604.7s] Oh, no, I was talking about wanting to not. [607.8s] Yes, yes. [610.3s] Uh, OK, great. [612.4s] See, this is why I need you guys. [614.8s] I already forgot. [617.3s] OK, I'm going to I got this from from the sisters. [622.5s] So I'm going to look, look, look, look, look, look, look, look, look, look. [626.0s] What's it taste like? [627.5s] Kind of like an apple cinnamon. [629.0s] It's really good. [630.0s] You taste that and like there's this this warmth that washes over you. [636.0s] Your feet begin to feel very heavy, like almost [640.0s] like gravity has almost doubled where you are right now. [644.9s] And all around you, [649.2s] like this distortion effect begins to wash away. [653.3s] Nobody else witnesses this, but you see that in front of you now [659.4s] where there was clearly one path, you see the smoke off in the distance. [663.8s] The the the path diverges. [667.4s] There is now two paths before you, [670.2s] the one that you were following and another that looks like it's going [674.0s] towards where the smoke is more clearly. [679.4s] So I Robert Frost it up and take a moment to consider which path to take, [684.5s] because if I take one, I can't take the other. [688.0s] In your, I guess, [691.4s] an experience to this point, the one path that maintained is the one [697.1s] when you previously saw this that you took before. [700.0s] Right. OK, so there's I see. [704.9s] I think I see what's actually here now, and there isn't just, you know, [707.8s] this path that you guys see that we've been on. Yeah, yeah. [712.7s] But there's also a path right here. [716.8s] But that is trees, but it's not. [722.1s] It's not trees. I don't think it's trees. [725.6s] I'm going to walk briskly in that direction, [728.0s] but with an arm in front of me, because I'm not totally crazy. [731.7s] I'm not going to break my own nose, but [734.9s] in case this potion is playing a trick on him. [737.1s] This is the platform nine and three quarters. [739.6s] You have to go at it running. That's right. [742.6s] And see what happens. [744.8s] OK, Bonwyn cautiously, but also briskly, but with an arm up. [750.4s] Yeah. Walks forward. [752.4s] We're like, you see Bonwyn like right when you think they're going to hit [756.0s] this huge red wood, walks through it. [761.6s] You see this rippling effect of the image that you see before you. [765.6s] Oh, shit. See, no broken nose. [768.9s] Is this entire woods. [772.3s] Just belong to the fey. [774.7s] I don't know, but I do remember that this potion only lasts an hour. [779.0s] So I think we should like 10 minutes. [782.0s] What? Really? Son of a bitch. [784.3s] Time distortions fucked up. Let's go. [787.5s] Welcome to the middle, everybody. [788.8s] The middle. Hey, here we are. [790.8s] Hold on. What's over there? [792.8s] Uh, did you? [794.4s] I hear you. [795.2s] Crawling under the desk. [796.4s] This is a new kind of audio experience for the middle. [799.4s] Yeah. Come with me under under the table to the audio interface that we have. [803.9s] No, we're here. We're here with you and for you and having a great time. [808.4s] And we got together [811.8s] this past weekend. [813.4s] Yeah, we did. [814.3s] All of those things that we did were so magical. [817.5s] It was so fun when we. [819.8s] And then also when we. [821.1s] Yeah, hold on. [822.2s] Yeah, let's manifest what we what we think we did [825.1s] and then check the boxes when we did. [827.3s] So we got together. [829.6s] We had a reasonable brunch time on the first day. [834.1s] We were in Calgary. We were in Calgary. [837.1s] We did karaoke. [838.8s] Flights are booked, so we can't change that one. [840.8s] So that's good. Yeah, it was karaoke. [842.6s] Yeah. Yeah. [843.5s] Either at a place or just in somebody's car. [845.8s] One of them. Absolutely. [848.6s] Yeah. [849.9s] There was pasta and also clouds. [852.0s] OK. Yeah. [853.1s] Yes. Yeah. We got a little bit of rain. [855.2s] And we got the moon showed up at one point. [857.8s] Yeah. That was pretty dope. [860.0s] I liked the weather more than I did in Texas. [862.9s] OK. I would say. [865.4s] Yeah, that was we saw some birds. [867.7s] Yeah. So many birds. [869.8s] We talked about the show and the game and then played, [873.9s] probably played the game, too. [875.8s] Yeah, we did all those things. [877.8s] Played a different game, maybe. [879.6s] And maybe you saw us. [880.9s] Maybe you didn't. [882.4s] Yeah, I don't know. [883.8s] I think we've covered just about everything [886.7s] that we could possibly. [887.8s] And it was a magical weekend. [889.2s] We had the best time. [890.8s] And we have so many pictures. [892.0s] Yes, we took so many pictures because we're so thankful [894.8s] to Jess for taking all the pictures. [896.7s] 100 percent. And Kyle and Jess live in Canada now. [900.3s] Yeah, it's just it's just where they are. [902.5s] Yeah, nothing wrong there. [904.2s] No. When you do get out of no. [908.5s] When you do move to Canada, [910.4s] you get an episode dedicated to Canada. [914.0s] Yeah. [915.6s] When you do move to Canada and also become a patron, [918.6s] you can pay in Canadian dollars, which is slightly more than US dollars. [923.2s] Just the way the world works. [925.6s] But you and you become a patron. [927.8s] We got there at Patreon dot com slash Dumb Dragoncast. [930.8s] You get an episode dedicated to you like today's patron. [935.8s] My name is D. [937.2s] D. [939.0s] Heck yeah, D. [940.3s] D is D. [942.4s] D is a lovely human. [946.7s] Absolutely. 100 percent. [948.7s] One of the best. [949.8s] Are we allowed to plug D's show? [954.2s] I think we're allowed to do whatever we want. [956.4s] No, absolutely not. [959.9s] Absolutely not. [961.4s] I'm so sorry, D. [962.5s] I tried. [963.8s] Yeah, look, I gave him a shout out. [965.4s] He doesn't get a show plug. Come on. [968.2s] Go talk to him about it on Discord yourself. [970.8s] That's right. [971.8s] Yeah, no, D and Jess and Kat from the community [976.3s] and many others in the community, too, [979.0s] all have their own actual play show, which is called [982.0s] The Taramundi Chronicles, an improvised history of the universe. [987.2s] Nailed it. [988.4s] Got it. Jess threw up her hands. [990.6s] No notes. No notes. [993.4s] And you should listen to it. [994.6s] You should listen to it. It's great. [996.8s] Yeah. Wonderful people. [998.4s] I helped with the first couple episodes on sound design, [1001.0s] but then after that, D took over and now it sounds infinitely better. [1004.7s] D's amazing. D's amazing. [1006.8s] Agreed. Thanks, D. [1008.7s] Be like D, which I'd say very honestly, [1012.7s] everybody should be like D. [1014.1s] Go to patreon.com slash dumb dragon cast. [1017.2s] And now we'll get you back to this episode where things are happening. [1022.4s] Oh, I love things. [1023.8s] Can't wait for that. [1025.2s] There are probably mushrooms. [1030.0s] Animals. [1031.2s] And there are problems to solve birds. [1034.3s] Like probably birds might be birds. [1037.4s] Calgary did have birds. [1039.1s] Oh, good call out. Good call out, Carla. [1041.9s] We probably opened the bird app to see what birds were in our area. [1045.5s] 110 percent we did, which is not a dating app. [1048.6s] I was. It's actual birds. [1050.1s] Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. [1051.9s] All right. Well, on that note, have fun. [1054.4s] We'll talk to you soon. Love you. Bye. [1058.6s] OK, so we only have like 10 minutes. [1062.1s] Should we? Should we keep running? [1063.8s] I mean, I want to get away from the bear. [1067.0s] I want to know why they're blocking this path. [1070.3s] So I say we go in this direction. [1073.6s] Let's go. OK. [1075.0s] Let us hustle. OK. [1076.3s] Everybody tears through this tree, which ripples. [1080.2s] And now you see a path before you. [1083.1s] The illusion has broke. [1084.3s] Oh, so we just need to get through that illusion and then we can see. [1088.8s] It's like I get I was built for. [1093.2s] What's a dwarf? [1094.0s] I was built for sprints, but not marathons. [1096.8s] You know, that's right. [1098.2s] And you carry along this path with relatively minimal [1102.9s] distortion effect at this point, like you still occasionally [1106.6s] hear that sound, delay your footsteps, [1110.0s] making a double tap or maybe not even hearing them. [1114.6s] The the disappearing effect still is in place. [1119.4s] So you'll take a few steps and then they'll they'll be gone from you. [1123.6s] Um, you you continue on for [1128.8s] a couple more hours and it's getting late. [1131.6s] When you think you should be making camp, [1134.6s] the trees ahead of you begin to thin. [1139.2s] Beyond them, you see [1143.0s] the lake or what's left of it. [1148.8s] You see a vast basin come into view. [1152.5s] Of cracked earth split like broken porcelain. [1158.3s] There's a dam that stands at one end that appears to be intact. [1164.1s] Water not burst through or even trickling through. [1168.4s] At the center of the basin, faintly visible [1171.5s] is a stone arch half submerged in dust. [1176.1s] It appears to be flickering. [1178.7s] Like a reflection trying to remember what it reflects. [1184.6s] On the other side of the lake, you see [1188.8s] the worn down city of Lingersville. [1193.8s] You see buildings partially intact. [1198.1s] There's a schoolhouse that's still standing. [1201.6s] Vineyards charred and overgrown off in one direction. [1206.1s] You hear wind cutting through empty windows. [1212.9s] Oh, it's even creepier than I thought it would be. [1215.9s] If I'm being honest, it's really creepy. [1219.0s] It's like a ghost town. [1220.7s] It's a ghost town, which I guess it is. [1222.8s] But they're going to be ghosts. [1225.1s] There's probably going to be ghosts. [1227.1s] I don't know why. [1228.8s] Did I mean, the arch, right, is that [1232.1s] did we just find it, what we were looking for that easily? [1236.0s] Is it? It looks like it's it looks like it's fading. [1243.1s] Russ, does it look like, yeah, like what appeared in town [1248.0s] in Vindersmith? [1250.2s] From the distance that you're at, there are certainly similarities. [1253.1s] It's a stone arch, which appears to be [1256.4s] you'd be able to determine even from here. [1260.0s] Looks like it's a different type of stone, more [1264.3s] slate from the look of it. [1269.8s] As previously mentioned, like it's half covered in. [1274.0s] What did I say? Dust. [1275.4s] Yeah. Yeah. [1276.2s] Because like an old lake bed is like dirt. [1278.3s] Yeah. Sediment is like built up. [1281.0s] But yeah, there is a translucence to it. [1284.2s] You can see it there and then like almost like it glows [1288.0s] and then a bright light and seems to be fading away. [1291.9s] Well, I was going to suggest we make camp, [1293.7s] but now we're here. So. Yeah. [1298.0s] Do we keep going or get a good night's rest and then face it tomorrow? [1304.0s] What if it's not there tomorrow? [1305.4s] Oh, goodness, I hadn't considered that, [1307.2s] but everything is completely wacky here. [1309.2s] So. Yeah. [1310.8s] Or if we wake up somewhere else. [1313.6s] Oh, God. OK. [1315.2s] I'm going to pull out the spool of thread and see how it's reacting. [1319.7s] Kyle's good at this game. [1321.1s] Probably around the same time as like when when the lake came into view [1324.8s] and maybe even a little bit before, like you felt the same pull [1328.2s] and the like the cold. [1330.7s] What did I say? Cold. [1331.7s] It got cold towards it. Yeah. [1334.0s] You felt it grow a little chilled in your in your breast pocket there. [1338.7s] And as you pull it out, you see the thread spinning on the spool [1343.4s] and a an extension of it is leading you [1348.0s] not towards the stone archway, but to the city itself. [1354.3s] Hmm. You see how it's flickering? [1357.9s] Wonder if. Maybe we need to fix something [1363.6s] because this thread's not taking us there. [1370.0s] Hmm. Like fix what? [1373.3s] I don't think it's anchored. [1374.6s] I don't know if we go in like everything I've been reading, [1377.8s] like if you go in and there's it's it's not. [1382.2s] It's not set. [1383.7s] It could close or move behind you. [1387.5s] Wait, what would happen then? [1389.5s] Like, are we just lost in there? [1390.9s] I could only assume that we we would be trapped in there at best. [1398.2s] I don't know. [1400.2s] I don't have any reports of anybody getting trapped in there [1403.1s] or not making it out because they didn't make it out. [1407.7s] So should we just go where the thread's leading us to see what? [1411.4s] We're talking about it being properly anchored and the thread is. [1418.3s] Acting like a stitching from one realm to the next. [1423.6s] So maybe. [1427.4s] The thread will take us to whatever we need to put back together. [1432.2s] Yeah, because the thread in town [1434.8s] pointed us like where the, you know, where the entrance was, so. Right. [1441.6s] I guess I trust the thread. [1444.0s] I'd rather sleep inside, [1447.0s] even if a place doesn't have any windows. [1448.8s] Oh, I mean, we weren't going to have to really sleep outside. [1452.6s] But, you know, if we don't want to go into the city, then [1455.7s] we can make arrangements outside of the town. [1457.9s] I say we just go in. We're here. [1460.7s] Yeah, let's do it. It's pointing us here for a reason. [1463.9s] And we came here to do it. [1465.5s] And that doesn't mean we have to deal with it now. [1467.6s] But we can at least find a safe place, like Alydin said, with like a real roof. [1471.6s] And and. Yeah. [1475.4s] OK, yeah. To the city, to the city, to the city. [1479.9s] Is there a path around the lake or are we walking through the dry lake bed? [1483.3s] There would be a path around. [1484.9s] Of course, so scenic, beautiful, beautiful lingers. [1488.4s] Or you could cut through your call. [1490.9s] Seems creepy. Yeah. [1492.9s] Downhill. I don't want to be like a hill. [1494.8s] So now, oh, see that, too. [1496.7s] I don't want to be like. [1499.4s] Horse in never ending story. [1501.8s] I know it's all dry, but I. [1504.6s] This is why you didn't bring a donkey. [1506.3s] Exactly, exactly. [1508.8s] You can lose Alistair in the mud pit, but not a donkey. Yeah. [1513.2s] I'd be sad. [1514.0s] That's I know that says a lot about me as a person, but I would be sad. [1521.3s] Oh, geez. [1522.7s] OK, well, let's take the scenic path. [1524.7s] You continue along the path around the lake and the the trees become thinner. [1532.0s] The closer you get to the city, everything appears to be like dried up. [1536.4s] Some of it charred like there was a fire at some point, [1540.0s] and at least some of the area. [1543.0s] But by and large, it looks just mostly like the source of life, [1549.7s] the source of water for this area dried up long ago. [1554.3s] What happened to the smoke in the distance? [1556.1s] Is that coming from? [1557.7s] You don't see it anymore. [1563.0s] Cool. You get to the edge of town and it becomes clearer. [1568.8s] But from what you saw on the other side, like a lot of the buildings [1573.6s] are in a very serious state of disrepair. [1577.6s] Windows smashed and graffiti across some of them, walls half torn down. [1583.9s] Like it looks like at some point, a group of people, teens, probably teens. [1590.1s] I don't want to start [1590.8s] besmirching teens immediately, but probably teens. [1594.7s] I mean, that said, it doesn't look like like a big raiding party. [1598.1s] But yeah, perhaps a small group of people came and looted some things and then left. [1603.4s] As you make your way down, [1605.5s] what you can assume once was Main Street, [1610.0s] it leads you towards the schoolhouse, [1613.1s] which is the only building in this town that appears to be structurally sound. [1621.0s] Huh. [1622.2s] Do you think there's a, you know, like our friend in the basement? [1627.0s] Paper face? [1628.5s] No, no, no, I meant our actual friend, the caretaker, [1634.0s] with the roll call and the. [1636.6s] You know, at the school. [1638.2s] Paper. Yeah, that was not the paper face we fought. [1641.3s] Oh, OK, I thought paper face bad guy. [1643.8s] We fought scary guy. [1645.8s] And I meant nice Lake Automaton man. Right. Yes. [1649.9s] OK. Joe, too many people named paper face. [1652.2s] Everyone's calling their kids paper face these days. [1655.3s] It's confusing. [1657.8s] Maybe especially the ones P.A.Y. [1660.2s] Right. P.A.R. Yeah, it's expensive. [1664.0s] Maybe. Maybe there's one of them, one of one of him here. [1670.6s] Good place to start. [1671.6s] I didn't think I'd hear myself saying this, but let's go to school. [1677.0s] Bizarre Beams with Pride. Let's go. [1679.7s] Oh, you walk closer. [1682.6s] And as you get closer, you see that the windows are intact, [1685.8s] but opaque with some residue from from the decay of the town. [1692.4s] You see a bell rope that's rotted off into off into the distance [1699.9s] and a plaque that's half fallen, says Lingersville Academy, [1704.8s] in pursuit of excellence. [1708.0s] You step up the five stone stairs to the front entryway. [1714.2s] And who goes to open the door, which is closed before you. [1718.4s] Yvonne, when what kind of rocks are these? [1720.9s] Mm hmm. Yeah, tell me about those stone steps. [1725.1s] Anything interesting or something local? [1728.6s] It appears to be local stone, [1732.0s] nothing exceptional, but has held up considering everything around you, [1736.5s] has held up incredibly well as far as you're concerned. [1739.5s] Just like a local sandstone, Alydin, something, [1742.8s] you know, probably from the quarry a couple of towns over. [1746.6s] Nothing, nothing weird, just just normal. [1750.3s] I thought there was a joke being made because it's a schoolhouse rock. [1754.8s] But that's I don't know if. [1757.6s] But you were wrong. I was wrong. [1759.7s] Terrible, Kyle. Absolutely. [1768.0s] I'll open the door. [1769.8s] I ain't I ain't scared of no school. [1772.7s] The door opens easily for you. [1776.2s] It's weird considering it's been abandoned for so long. [1779.5s] Yeah, someone oiling hinges here, that's. [1783.2s] Feel strange. [1785.2s] Well, I mean, if there is a worker down there, then. [1788.6s] It makes sense. [1790.4s] True. Good sign, then, maybe. [1795.4s] Is the what's the thread doing now? [1798.0s] Bizarre would have if you've kept it out. [1800.8s] Yeah. And yeah, the thread has been. [1805.2s] As you've walked around the lake, like it's kind of kept a clock [1808.6s] and now it's been pointing you towards the school. [1811.0s] OK, but nothing more specific. [1812.8s] It's not like more, more, more, more elusive. [1816.6s] It hasn't folded itself into a little arrow. [1819.7s] In fact, as you get to the entry, Bizarre, [1823.1s] you see that it respools itself now that you've reached the school [1827.7s] and stop spinning. [1829.6s] OK, tuck it back in a rest pocket inside. [1834.2s] Warm air greets you as the front doors push open. [1838.8s] Without resistance. [1841.0s] The scent is dry paper, cedar shelves and polished wood. [1845.8s] No dust hangs in the air. [1848.4s] Brass coat hooks line one wall, each numbered [1852.0s] except for one engraved simply monitor. [1857.3s] Across the foyer, a chalkboard bears a single message. [1862.0s] Welcome back. [1864.0s] The instant the last of you steps inside, [1867.1s] fresh chalk scratches across the slate by itself. [1871.3s] It reads, visitors, please await classification. [1958.2s] Oh, is that news? [1960.3s] Where's that party inventory? [1962.3s] I'm like, oh, damn. [1964.0s] We should probably start to put some stuff in there. [1967.1s] Just knew that was there. [1968.6s] Jess knows that, but that's not surprising. [1971.0s] This is like 10 years ahead of the rest of us. [1976.7s] I'm just saying we should put some of the shit in here [1978.3s] because I'm like, when am I carrying antlers? [1980.6s] Share the burden of remembering. [1982.6s] OK. Yeah. [1984.2s] Bizard, make a. [1987.8s] What do we want to do here? [1988.9s] Arcana, Arcana or don't itch your tattoo. [1993.0s] I'm not itching it, I'm gently caressing it. [1995.3s] Don't do it. [1996.0s] And making your shirt rub against it. [1997.8s] Quit it. It's not me, it's the shirt. [2002.0s] A lot of semantics going on there, Russ. [2004.5s] Yeah, I know. Right. It's itchy. [2007.6s] God damn. It's a ten minute hour. [2011.0s] They dampening cordial. [2012.0s] Oh, yeah. One hour anchoring draft. [2013.9s] No, no, I don't think they dampening cordial. [2016.4s] Oh, then none of that happens. [2018.5s] It was the anchoring draught draft. [2020.7s] I thought we were talking about the anchoring draught. [2024.5s] Yeah, that's what we were talking about. [2026.1s] Is that what we were talking about? [2027.3s] Oh, yeah. That's why my feet feel heavy. [2029.6s] The fade dampening cordial. [2033.1s] It would be more if you if there were charm effects. [2036.8s] Yeah, well, let's just say it was a bottle of anchoring draught. [2044.2s] I think we did. [2045.1s] Well, I thought that's what we said. [2046.6s] OK, great. That's what we said. [2049.6s] OK, we're all on the same page. Great. [2051.6s] I know Carla and I are on one page. [2053.4s] You guys are on the other page. [2054.0s] I like their page better right now. [2056.0s] So I'm going to ditch my page and jump onto yours. [2058.8s] What a great anchoring draft.
