[0.0s] Dumbgeons and Dragons will begin in a moment. [4.2s] Yeah, I'll be right back with that registrar. [6.4s] What, what are you doing in this room? [9.2s] This is where I spend my time when the students aren't here. I make notes from the day. I log important events. Any gestures to the cabinets that are in the room? [23.2s] Oh, question for you. Please. You said this is where you stay when the when the children aren't here, when the students aren't here. Where did the students go? [33.0s] I presume the students went home for the day. [37.5s] Okay. [39.1s] Did you ever check upstairs? What do you mean? [41.7s] Nothing. [43.6s] How many how many students would be in this class for you to check on? [51.6s] Presently enrolled, as far as I recall, based on your questions, I have a feeling some things may have changed. But perhaps that is I that has changed. There were 37 students enrolled at this school. [70.0s] Do you do you know their names? [71.8s] I have a registrar of their names. Yes. [74.6s] Who is the baddest one? [76.5s] All students are here to learn and better themselves. There are no bad students. [82.5s] Who is the naughtiest one? [85.2s] There were some that tried the patience of the teachers. Yes. Rusty. Rusty was one. [91.8s] When when they were naughty, you know, shenanigans were happening. They've been told several times to stop. What kind of consequences are we talking about? [107.2s] Is your interest in the punishment of students? [111.6s] Well, yes, just to compare against my own experience, you know, I'd like to know what I'm getting into at this school. Or was discipline not within your purview here? [125.8s] It was just a marker of discipline. I imagine the discipline would be taken on by the teachers, which how many teachers did you say there were and what were their names? [136.6s] There were two teachers here when I was he as he as it's speaking, it appears to be gaining context from the things that you're saying. [150.6s] There were two teachers here. Last I recall, a dwarven fellow named Kill Darum and an educator went by the name of Demise. [167.7s] What's a dwarven's teacher's name again? [169.8s] Kill Darum. [172.2s] Kill Darum? [174.4s] It's better than Kill Delights. [177.7s] Kill Darum. [178.5s] And bring in the noise and bring in the fun. [181.4s] Less teaching to do comedy. [183.6s] Lessen the rule, was it? [188.0s] Dumbgeons and Dragons is a D&D actual play podcast and I'm your dungeon master Russ More, he, him. Also with me today is Amy More as Alydin, she, her. [197.7s] Are all students classified? [199.6s] Tom Laird as Kavlaran Goldweave, he, him. [202.6s] Ask again later? [204.3s] And Kyle Claset as Bizard the Wizard, he, him. [207.3s] Yes, please. And that, thank God. Thank you, little dice. [211.3s] Dumbgeons and Dragons is a Patreon-supported show, so every twist, every triumph, every truly questionable decision is possible because of listeners like you. [222.1s] Join us today at patreon.com slash dumb dragon cast. And now, fuck it, let's play. [229.8s] But 270 years is not necessarily a long time for a dwarf. [237.5s] Okay, um, yeah, you were gonna ask something. [240.5s] Uh, well, yeah, no, I was just wondering, like, who made you? Is that rude? [246.0s] I did not know my manufacturer. [250.6s] Me neither. [252.2s] I'm sorry. [253.1s] So, like, the worst consequences I've gotten in school so far have been just detention. [263.7s] She looks over at Bizarre and goes, just kidding. [266.6s] Like, would the kids get detention here at this school? [270.0s] Children have received detention, writing of lines. [275.0s] Oh, line writing, yeah. [276.8s] Cleaning of various equipment around the school. [283.0s] There was never any ill intent towards the children, if that is what your question is. [290.3s] Well, you know, sometimes, you know, for their own good or whatever, that none of that happened here. [298.0s] Not under my watch. [299.6s] What city is the school in? [302.2s] This school resides in, and it looks like it's considering the three of you. [308.2s] This school resided in Vinter's mouth. [312.9s] Uh, that read was weird. [316.8s] Um, is this machine being shifty? [320.2s] I wouldn't expect it, but I've seen weird stuff. [323.0s] You can roll in sight. [325.2s] You're really liking those two tonight. [327.2s] Those twos. [327.9s] All right, that's a seven. [329.1s] I'm going to stop rolling you. [330.7s] What is happening? [331.6s] I'm getting all the twenties. [332.8s] These boys are rolling shit. [334.9s] All right. [335.5s] Yeah, unfortunately, yeah, you don't pick anything up off any sort of [340.9s] contextual feeling one way or the other. [344.6s] Who is the principal at this school? [347.6s] Well, the principalship was shared by the educators. [351.6s] Oh, so, so Keel and Demise? [356.0s] Correct. [357.4s] And who wears short shorts? [361.2s] Hmm. [362.0s] Oh, it got Russ with that one, guys. [363.5s] I don't know who wore short shorts, but boots with the fur was Demise. [374.7s] But she had the whole school looking at her. [377.1s] Twas hot in her. [384.2s] And that's where that will stop because it's in the school. [387.7s] You hear it's the school for children. [390.8s] I footsteps and a call downstairs. [393.7s] I have that registrar. [395.1s] Do you do? [395.9s] Is it safe to come down? [397.6s] Oh, yeah. [399.0s] Oh, yeah. [399.6s] Thank you so much. [401.7s] Look at Alydin. [402.5s] Like, oh, I assume she's not like coming down the stairs. [406.0s] Is she? [406.6s] I thought she was like screaming from the top. [408.4s] Oh, she was screaming. [409.1s] She was very much not wanting to. [412.5s] Does anybody want to come get it? [414.5s] Sure. [414.9s] I'll, I'll, I'll be right there. [416.6s] All right, Cav, you quickly run up the stairs, grab the list. [420.8s] She says, is everything OK down there? [424.0s] We found some weird like automaton type thing that said it's like the [428.5s] guardian of the school. [429.4s] Anyway, gotta go figure this out. [430.8s] We'll be back. [432.7s] Oh, I like you have interpreted hall monitor as guardian of the school. [440.2s] I love that so much. [441.6s] I mean, what is a hall monitor if not the guardian of the school, Amy? [446.5s] I love it. [448.8s] That's someone who takes their job real seriously. [451.9s] Cav, you come back and have the registrar's list. [455.5s] So do you know how to play any cool games? [457.4s] I did not partake in playground games. [460.7s] I monitored the children. [462.1s] OK, but like X's and O's? [465.1s] I do know the rules for X's and O's. [469.9s] And did you play? [471.9s] No. [474.2s] Did no kids ask you to play? [476.5s] Children asked me to play. [477.8s] It was not my role to play. [480.0s] Did you want to play, but you didn't because it wasn't your role? [484.0s] There's been stuff I've wanted to do, but that I didn't because it wasn't. [490.0s] Like. For me. [494.8s] But I still wanted to. [496.4s] I was in charge of the children's safety. [499.6s] Russ, are there any other doors in this room, or is this kind of just [503.3s] like where this ends? [504.8s] This is where this room seems to end. [506.5s] So, yeah, in this room, there's the desk that this being was seated at. [511.5s] He's it's now standing in front of you. [514.4s] There are a few filing cabinets that do appear to have documents in them. [518.1s] Some of them are like, yeah, like a cracked open a little bit. [522.7s] How tall is this entity? [525.3s] He stands six foot four. [530.7s] Oh, so very big. [532.0s] He appears very tall in front of all of you. [534.8s] I think Cav is probably the tallest of the three of you, [537.5s] and he's still taller than Cav. [540.5s] So looking down at the floor, at the ruins that we're standing in, [545.0s] what sense can I make of what I'm seeing? [548.2s] Arconically, do you want to roll our comments, please? [552.7s] And that thank God. [554.4s] Thank you, little dice. [555.8s] That's going to be a 24. We're back. [557.6s] Damn, damn. [562.4s] Class is now in session. [564.9s] What you see just at a glance, without any sort of check, [567.7s] you see a faint circular etching in the floor. [570.8s] There's geometric precision that doesn't appear to be decorative in any way. [576.7s] It currently is not glowing. [578.8s] But when you did step inside, you saw that faint glow, [581.9s] which appeared at least context clues to activate this hall monitor. [587.6s] You see lines intersecting at odd angles [590.8s] that don't quite align with the room's general architecture. [595.3s] You spend some time as as it's talking [599.6s] and you catch something. [602.9s] The structure of the ruins resembles [608.5s] a sort of puzzle, [611.8s] and it has similarities to certain ruins that you saw in the library room. [618.7s] The geometry itself [621.4s] matches the ley line alignment diagram that you saw in that room as well. [627.2s] The magic itself, the ruins itself does not appear to be local. [632.2s] Nobody in town or nothing outside of these extra [637.0s] planar events where have you been able to tie to anything in particular. [643.1s] The system itself appears to be built [646.5s] with the same principles as the false entrance. [649.4s] And when you trace the outer ring with your eyes, [654.8s] the circle itself briefly appears larger, [659.8s] not physically, but conceptually. [663.4s] It's as though this room once existed inside something much bigger [668.8s] and then it snaps back really quick. [672.0s] OK, as you're examining it, you cross the ruins and enter into the circle. [680.0s] And as you do so, the bell that is on the hall monitor begins to tremble. [685.0s] You hear a slight [687.1s] tinkling of this bell. [689.9s] One room glows briefly. [694.2s] And you hear a whisper not coming from the hall monitor, [698.3s] but you bizarreed hear a whisper that says status pending. [705.4s] Does anybody else hear it or is it just bizarre? [707.3s] Just bizarre. [708.3s] I'm going to pull out the the the thread [712.4s] and see if there's any reaction from it. [714.6s] You pull it out and the thread tightens slightly, [718.8s] not violently, just enough to confirm that this place [723.8s] perhaps was once tied to what you're seeking. [728.3s] OK, I step out of the circle. [732.0s] The bell on the hall monitor stops vibrating and the room slowly dissipates. [739.3s] OK, I remember. [745.2s] I remember Bonwyn hearing it. [747.5s] So the voice that I heard in the false index after placing my [752.0s] tome on the pedestal repeated itself. [755.7s] And it's a lot of similar [760.2s] activity to the false index. [765.7s] What do you mean? [766.6s] Well, the I hold the thimble out and I heard the thread out [770.2s] and just kind of let the spool like float for a moment [773.2s] and then grab it up again and say also [778.1s] step in there and see if you hear what was the phrase that you heard again. [782.6s] Well, you don't even have to tell me just. [785.4s] See if you hear it. [786.4s] I don't think I said it out loud. [788.8s] Yeah, I step in to the circle. [792.4s] OK, because I trespassered. [794.2s] Alydin, you step in and [797.9s] you all hear the hall monitor's bell tremble again, [801.0s] and this time two rooms flicker. [805.0s] You know, after a brief moment, both go dark. [810.0s] You don't hear a voice, Alydin. [812.7s] The bell stops ringing as the lights go dark. [817.0s] I step back out and I shrug. [819.5s] Hmm. Nothing. [824.4s] Cav, you try. Yeah. [826.0s] OK, sure. [827.3s] Cav, you step in after Alydin exits and similar to Bazaar, [832.2s] one room illuminates a different room on the other side of the circle. [838.0s] Can I be walking around and sketching these rooms as I go? [841.6s] Sure. As they're doing things. [843.8s] I don't have specific images of them, but just right. [845.8s] I sketch rooms. Or Cav room or whatever. [850.7s] Same thing. The bell trembles. [853.8s] One of the rooms glows briefly and Cav, you hear a whisper, [859.1s] again, barely audible, that says status pending. [863.3s] Anything? Yeah, same sort of thing Bazaar had. [868.9s] Hmm. [872.9s] Why? [877.4s] Why us? [878.4s] Um, hey, why did they hear a voice and I didn't? [884.7s] I'm addressing the construct, obviously. [888.6s] I have an answer for that. [890.2s] OK, good. [892.2s] I love it when there's an answer for my question. [894.1s] Very rarely does it happen at all. [897.6s] So this is exciting. [899.2s] Welcome to the middle, everybody. How are you doing? [901.2s] Hey, we are right here. [903.1s] Wondering about you. Glad to be here. [905.5s] Oh, I'm doing great. [907.6s] You know, is living the dream of working at Target. [912.4s] Oh, shit. That's a that's a deep pull. [915.8s] It's that off screen is what that was. [922.4s] You know, it could be an inspirational time for Kyle [925.6s] just to motivate everybody is what it could be. [927.8s] That's right. Motivational words. [929.1s] What do you really want to be doing, man? [930.8s] Yeah. What do you really want to be doing? [932.5s] Because if, you know, you want to, you should try it. Yeah. [936.9s] What if you want to, like, help support your favorite podcast? [940.8s] Fucking. Oh, my gosh. [942.9s] There's a place you can do that, Carla. [945.8s] Wow. What? [947.6s] Tell me. How do I do it? [949.4s] He's the most coherent start to a middle we've had in a long time. [953.0s] Word of mouth on, like, social media. [955.0s] But if you're looking to get like something for something, [958.2s] a little squid pro crow, you know what I'm saying? [961.1s] Then we got that Patreon. [963.8s] We do. Hell, yeah, we do. [965.3s] We've had it for a while. We talk about it incessantly. [969.8s] But that's the only way to make sure people know about it, [972.6s] because they duck in, they duck out, they listen to the story. [975.9s] They wait till they get caught up. [977.6s] And then there's this constant reminder of us saying, hey, [980.8s] we love to do cool things. [982.2s] And because of your support and all of your amazing generosity [986.6s] and joining us in this community, it's allowed us to do it for. [991.0s] We're coming up on our 10 year anniversary next year, guys. [994.2s] Oh, my gosh. That's crazy. [996.2s] Damn. I'm adding it to the business agenda [998.6s] that we have to talk about our 10 year anniversary. [1002.0s] OK, we got a plan for that all through year nine. [1005.2s] We can't do what radio does and figure out they're halfway through [1008.6s] a big milestone anniversary and then be like, well, let's do a day. [1012.9s] Yeah. I mean, we could do that. Yeah. [1015.5s] We'll see what happens, but let's endeavor to do better. [1019.0s] Let's do we go like that. [1021.2s] So good. Yeah, we got there. [1023.7s] But Patreon, which when you come support us on Patreon, [1027.8s] that's exactly what you're doing is you're supporting the stories [1029.9s] that you love and us in creating those stories [1034.6s] so that we can create more of them for you. [1038.3s] Goes to help us cover the cost behind the scenes [1040.5s] because making a podcast ain't free [1043.9s] as much as it is free for the public. [1046.2s] There's some things that come along with that. [1048.1s] And it also allows us to go do really cool things like get together [1051.8s] in the same city and play games together, [1055.6s] which is an entirely different dynamic. [1057.9s] And I'm not going to knocking on wood. [1060.3s] Yes, not going to have to say it. [1062.3s] Damn it, Russell. [1065.7s] Come on. I want you can't lightning can't strike twice. [1070.5s] It does. Yeah, it does. [1072.6s] There's things specifically designed to attract it. [1075.4s] And I feel like you saying that was one of them. [1077.5s] Like you're a pneumonia lightning rod now. [1080.9s] Yeah, it's going to come back twice. [1083.7s] It's going to be that old ammonia. [1085.0s] No, that's what I'm talking about. [1087.3s] It's going to be the same. [1088.6s] It's going to be the same. [1089.5s] Monia is coming back for revenge. [1091.6s] It's like, yeah, retro ammonia pneumonia. [1095.5s] I joke because it was terrible. [1097.8s] It was terrible. [1098.8s] It was terrible. [1099.9s] What wasn't terrible was that we all got to get together. [1102.6s] And that was thanks to our patrons. [1104.2s] It was. Yep. [1106.2s] So Patreon.com slash dumb Dragoncast. [1107.9s] And when you are a patron, you get an episode dedicated to you [1111.5s] like today's patron. [1116.0s] Loading, loading. [1118.2s] Thanks, Loading. [1120.9s] Javier Lutegas. [1123.8s] Thank you, Javier. [1125.5s] Thank you, Javier. [1127.0s] Thank you, Javier. [1128.0s] Got it in one. [1129.5s] Join us today at Patreon.com slash Dumb Dragoncast. [1132.5s] We hope to see you over there. [1133.2s] Now we'll get you back to this episode. [1137.5s] Thanks for being here. Love you. Bye. [1138.8s] Love you. Bye. [1142.4s] It looks to consider your question and then [1146.8s] goes to it takes a couple steps towards you. [1150.1s] Do you do anything? [1151.1s] No, I don't back up or anything. [1152.5s] I'm feeling pretty chill about this guy. Sure. [1154.8s] I step forward a little bit. [1157.3s] Sure, it it sees you step like, you know, kind of in the way [1162.0s] and it pauses and takes a step back and [1165.9s] turns to you, Bazaar, apologies. [1168.6s] I am moving to the filing cabinet [1171.6s] on the other side of the room. [1173.2s] If you would just I can move further. [1175.6s] No, sorry. Yeah. [1177.0s] And I shove Bazaar. [1177.9s] I go, Bazaar. [1178.8s] I step back. [1180.0s] Don't embarrass me. [1181.4s] He kind of takes a side step around [1184.4s] and Alydin nods and moves to the filing cabinet [1187.5s] and pulls one open, [1190.2s] begins filtering through some of the files. [1194.3s] He pulls a thin folder [1198.5s] that you can kind of see over his shoulder. [1201.6s] It looks like it has some meticulous script on it. [1204.2s] And he he pulls it over. [1205.7s] I'm trying to like. Yeah. [1207.1s] You see over you see [1210.2s] the header that says transitional students [1213.2s] hold until classified. [1216.3s] Inside you see names without ages. [1220.1s] You're kind of skimming through as he's going. [1222.9s] Ages without names. [1225.0s] Marginal notes like exhibits adaptive traits. [1229.9s] Does not respond to standard placement. [1233.2s] Re-evaluate after alignment event. [1237.0s] And then one page as he's flipping through [1239.7s] that he lands on that's blank [1240.9s] except for a single line that says [1243.3s] Alydin pending determination. [1247.0s] And it is dated for three days from now. [1251.2s] I don't think you can be classified. [1255.6s] What does that even mean? [1257.7s] Uncertain. [1258.6s] Ask again later. [1259.5s] How does one get classified? [1263.3s] What are the classifications? [1265.6s] Why can't I be classified? [1268.3s] Oh, is there. [1270.2s] Is it a test? [1273.7s] Do you just look at? [1275.8s] Do you just. [1277.7s] Did you classify them? [1280.2s] I'm pointing to Cav and Bazaar. [1282.2s] It is not I who classifies. [1284.6s] Who classifies. [1286.4s] Can I see that? [1287.8s] He hands you the file. [1289.0s] Damn. [1290.5s] I hand it back to Bazaar. [1291.8s] I didn't really want to look at it right now. [1293.8s] It was a blank page with my name on it. [1295.8s] That's. [1298.2s] So who classifies? [1300.3s] I'll open it up and look at it. [1301.8s] I don't believe I'm authorized to remember that. [1306.2s] Somebody's authorized your memories? [1309.4s] Tilts his head again. [1313.0s] I don't believe I'm authorized to remember that. [1316.1s] I don't like that. [1319.2s] That seems wrong. [1320.2s] Doesn't that seem wrong? [1321.0s] I mean, it doesn't seem great. [1323.1s] Seems ominous. [1326.0s] Is Tally's name in there? [1328.4s] Why would my name be in there? [1334.8s] When did your name get in there? [1337.0s] So you don't know who. [1339.2s] Is it important to be classified? [1342.9s] I'm gonna go back to my other one. [1344.1s] What are the classifications? [1348.5s] I like that question. [1349.7s] Classifications are specialties or traits [1353.3s] that may be deemed of interest. [1357.0s] If I ask of interest to who, [1359.0s] are you gonna say that you're not authorized [1361.5s] to remember that? [1362.6s] Believe I'm authorized to remember that. [1366.5s] Okay. [1368.2s] What was this school for? [1373.1s] Education. [1375.0s] In? [1376.8s] All subjects. [1377.8s] Including magic? [1382.1s] Magic is categorized. [1387.2s] I am not. [1388.0s] You are though. [1389.4s] Then what is my purpose? [1390.8s] I don't think purpose and categorization [1393.2s] are necessarily the same thing. [1395.2s] You've told us to protect the kids. [1399.2s] Are you protecting them from categorization [1403.4s] or classification? [1405.5s] I don't believe protection of classification is necessary. [1412.1s] Have you found anything that determines [1414.4s] whether classification is negative in those files? [1420.1s] Flip through these files. [1423.2s] Doesn't appear to- [1425.9s] Are all students classified, Bessard? [1429.7s] I don't think that's how it works. [1434.2s] You've never worked school administration, [1437.1s] so I can't say that for sure. [1444.0s] Kav, do you know somebody who, [1449.4s] do you have a contact that knew like administration [1451.9s] for schools or something? [1455.0s] I mean, not off the top of my head, [1457.4s] but probably Oak knows someone. [1461.2s] Should we ask June? [1462.9s] June might know. [1464.5s] Does June even know about this? [1468.4s] That's a great question. [1469.5s] Who is June? [1471.2s] I think that's the answer. [1473.5s] June's a good friend. [1475.6s] I wanna have like an aside with Bessard [1480.0s] and just be like, come here. [1482.5s] Step out of the room, yeah. [1486.3s] What are you thinking? [1487.1s] I don't think that like this, [1490.5s] I'm getting the feeling that this guy [1492.6s] isn't inherently bad, [1495.8s] but I'm getting the feeling like he has like a trigger [1502.2s] maybe that will make him do something bad. [1509.3s] I think you're onto something there [1511.0s] based off of the runes on the floor. [1513.7s] It appears, like I said, tied to the false index [1518.6s] or the archive in general, so. [1522.7s] Should we ask him about the archive? [1525.3s] I don't think he's permitted to remember that. [1529.6s] That upsets me. [1533.0s] I know, it's okay. [1535.5s] It'll be okay. [1536.8s] I look down at CQ and I go, [1540.1s] I permit you to remember everything, [1542.6s] just so you know. [1544.4s] We can go check with, [1547.1s] we know June doesn't know about this thing. [1549.6s] What we need to figure out is. [1552.5s] Hold on, how do we know June doesn't know about this thing? [1555.2s] That's actually a fair point, [1556.3s] just because it doesn't know June [1557.4s] doesn't mean June doesn't know about it. [1559.3s] True. They could be like, [1560.1s] hey, there's like this weird thing in the basement, [1562.0s] don't touch it. [1562.8s] And as the school administrator, [1564.2s] like maybe there's some handoff from the previous one [1568.4s] to explain what the hell's going on? [1573.5s] I wanna give the benefit of the doubt. [1578.1s] Like, can we keep him? [1580.2s] I don't think that's a good idea. [1584.6s] I do think that we take note of this event, [1590.8s] recognize its potential, [1593.5s] but other than some of the oddities [1595.6s] going on in the classrooms. [1597.7s] We should ask him about the oddities [1599.6s] going on in the classrooms. [1601.5s] True, maybe it's something related. [1605.0s] That's the next direction. [1608.0s] Let's go. [1608.8s] Hey, Joe, mind if I call you Joe? [1612.8s] What'd the kids call you? [1613.6s] They just said hall monitor, didn't they? [1616.0s] They did. [1617.8s] Is there another name that you would prefer to be called? [1621.0s] I have not considered it. [1623.2s] Okay, well, yeah, consider it. [1624.9s] Would you call me Joe? [1626.8s] If you like it. [1628.6s] I don't find it distasteful. [1633.0s] Okay, if you do, let me know. [1635.1s] I'll call you Joe. [1637.1s] I'll stop calling you Joe. [1639.4s] There are some weird things happening in the school, Joe. [1643.9s] Like desks, like growling at students [1647.0s] and like moaning, kind of complaining. [1649.2s] The bells are ringing all by themselves at weird times. [1652.7s] Also, there's this weird knocker [1654.5s] that is like interrogating people [1657.6s] before it's letting them inside of the classrooms. [1661.3s] I just developed a list out of nowhere. [1664.6s] What do you, have you seen anything like that? [1667.6s] Isn't that weird? [1669.1s] I don't believe I'm authorized to remember that. [1673.6s] Then it glitches briefly. [1676.1s] The runes on the floor, [1679.0s] you said they look to appear like a puzzle piece. [1682.3s] I'm going to try to manipulate, [1684.4s] see if it's able to be manipulated like a slid [1688.8s] to actually be solved like a puzzle. [1692.0s] Are we talking like one of those tile puzzles? [1693.9s] Yeah, something like that. [1695.0s] I'm thinking more so like spinning the rings [1697.3s] to make the picture come together is where my head's at. [1700.2s] But yeah, yeah, I like that. [1704.6s] Let's go with it. [1706.6s] Yeah, so you are, [1709.2s] let's figure out how that works with the description [1712.7s] that I gave and what you pictured. [1714.6s] So you see them as like physical pieces on the floor [1719.9s] or you see them like on a wheel in the middle of the floor. [1723.7s] Yeah, so you described them as like a geometric precision [1727.4s] and they don't seem to match up. [1729.3s] It's like they're like off kilter from each other. [1731.5s] So I'm imagining they probably need to be like shifted [1735.6s] so that the, [1738.2s] so essentially the ley lines that they're representing [1740.8s] are readjusted to look proper by magical standards. [1745.8s] By magical standards. [1748.1s] So I'm thinking maybe there's a disconnect [1750.0s] because of the way the rune is right now [1752.5s] and maybe altering that if I can will permit him. [1757.6s] Absolutely. [1759.8s] So you bend down [1765.4s] and find that the runes themselves [1769.0s] are inlaid within this secondary piece. [1774.8s] It's not obvious the amount of dust, [1778.1s] the amount of clutter that's kind of in this room [1780.5s] wasn't obvious at first, [1781.7s] but you brush some of that away [1783.7s] and you find that you are able to manipulate them. [1786.0s] And as you manipulate them, the runes themselves, [1788.4s] like as you move this circle, [1791.6s] like it's moving like a lazy Susan. [1795.2s] The runes themselves begin to spin in place [1798.6s] as you move this structure. [1802.8s] There are brief moments where the runes, [1806.0s] as when you step through it, [1808.0s] like some of them light up on the other side [1811.4s] and then quickly fade. [1812.9s] Every time one happens, [1814.0s] there's a jingle of the bell on the hall monitor on Joe. [1818.4s] Every third or fourth light that lights up, [1821.8s] there's like, it looks like Joe is glitching. [1825.5s] I'll let you decide how far you go [1829.2s] with that, seeing that response. [1831.7s] The first time I see a glitch result [1834.0s] in an erratic behavior that could hurt somebody, [1838.4s] I'm gonna stop. [1839.6s] Okay. [1840.7s] Yeah, we'll say like lights light up, [1843.2s] bells go for the first couple of times, [1844.9s] but then on like the third, fourth time, [1847.7s] you see the glitches, like the same subtle glitch, [1851.0s] but then like there's this rattle of his figure [1856.0s] and which causes you to kind of retract. [1859.1s] The, as the runes are spinning, [1863.2s] like you see the ley line picture [1867.1s] that was in the center of this, as I described, [1870.1s] which was the same that was up on the wall [1872.0s] in the previous room. [1875.2s] You see the same as it's all laid out, [1879.7s] you have a sketching of it from Alistair, [1882.0s] who unfortunately isn't here, [1884.2s] he would love this shit. [1885.1s] I'm sure. [1886.8s] You see it start to faintly glow, [1889.8s] like right as you stop. [1891.7s] Like it's just a low, like glowing hum. [1894.5s] Doesn't look like it's fully illuminated, [1896.3s] like all the runes, like they glue bright, [1898.3s] but then they quickly fade. [1901.0s] Joe, are you okay? [1902.4s] I am fine. [1904.6s] Do you? [1906.0s] I feel fine. [1907.5s] You feel? [1909.1s] I don't feel, and he looks, [1910.9s] he's looking at you kind of for context. [1913.0s] I don't feel like I would bring anyone harm. [1919.2s] I meant, are you hurting? [1921.4s] Pauses, but doesn't respond, [1923.5s] and then looks down at the clipboard [1930.4s] that's fused to its arm, [1932.2s] and he looks at it as if considering it, [1936.4s] like he hadn't since you guys walked in, [1939.6s] and lifts a couple of pages, [1942.1s] and pulls this card. [1945.1s] It's a parchment card, [1946.2s] looks like a thicker stock of paper, [1950.1s] and he goes to hand it to you. [1954.3s] Says, I forgot I had this. [1959.5s] He hands it to you and says, [1962.6s] this permits passage without escalation. [1967.5s] I believe it is incomplete. [1970.8s] He hands it to you, Alydin. [1973.0s] I reach forward and I take it. [1975.4s] Do I see something that is incomplete on it? [1979.6s] You see what looks like a hall pass or badge. [1983.8s] It's warm to the touch as you grab it, [1987.2s] and you see runes shift with names and rules. [1992.8s] As he hands it to you again, he repeats. [1996.6s] This allows passage without escalation. [2000.8s] I am not authorized to know why that would be necessary.
