[0.0s] Nobody worry, Dumbgeons and Dragons will begin in a moment. [3.8s] The sound of grinding stone comes to a halt as you all look over and realize that you are now locked in this jail room. [14.7s] Nina looks over at Kav and says, well, you're right, they came for you. [19.5s] But it appears all of the people are now stuck here. [23.4s] Hey, we just asked for privacy. [26.4s] They're giving us privacy. [29.3s] Bizard, they're going to let us out, right? [31.1s] Oh, yeah. [31.8s] I can ask if you want, just to double check. [34.0s] Yeah, yeah, because Thurston's on the clock, so they can't. [37.2s] Right. My time runs out. [38.5s] I got to get out and then I'll walk over and knock on the little, I guess, huge stone door. [44.5s] Like, hey, real quick, I just want to make sure that doesn't get open. [47.4s] I'm not supposed to be down here too long. [48.8s] And I think I'm bringing my client up. [51.2s] So I'm a little confused why this is closed, but appreciate the privacy. [54.6s] You hear from beyond the stone door. [57.6s] Yeah, it's good. [58.5s] Yeah, you just take your time in there. [60.5s] So you're confirming we are not trapped. [64.2s] Confirming you are in that room. [68.1s] And you're in that room. [69.5s] All right. Well, I have concluded my business with my client. [72.6s] It was real quick. [74.2s] I would like to leave now, please. [79.1s] No. [80.9s] OK, I suppose. [82.1s] Right. You fucking piece of shit. [84.3s] Well, yeah, we're we're locked in here. [88.2s] It's a it's a classic, you know, thrown into a sorry hole and forgot about. [95.4s] So we might want to figure out who we eat first. [101.1s] Things that scenario. What? [103.5s] People panic in situations like this. [105.3s] Nina's been down here forever. [107.0s] They feed you right, Nina. Yeah. [111.1s] Oh, right. Sorry. [112.6s] She's wasting away. [114.0s] She's so she's so far away. [117.0s] She's in the corner of the cell. [119.9s] Dumbgeons and Dragons is a D&D actual play podcast, [123.5s] and I'm your dungeon master, Russ More. [146.1s] A quick shout out to our Patreon family who make this show possible [149.4s] and get one hundred thirty or more exclusive episodes for their trouble. [154.2s] That's like a lot of D&D that you can get right now. [158.1s] Patreon dot com slash dumb dragon cast. [160.6s] We hope to see you over there. [161.8s] And now, fuck it. Let's play. [165.4s] Nice and panic. [166.6s] We need to take a breath. [169.6s] Look around. They. [173.3s] Let's just say that we benefit from [176.6s] how cheap a lot of these people in power are. [179.3s] There's usually accidentally a flaw. [183.3s] Am I right? [184.5s] They're as incompetent as they are evil and usually more incompetent. [189.2s] So that's been my experience. [192.4s] OK, all right. I like this one. [194.3s] He seems to get it. [195.6s] I told you he seemed really smart and nice. [197.9s] Oh, you said that. Thank you. [199.8s] I mean, it's a lot. [201.9s] Sir, we should put that down as a comment card [204.3s] or like a testimonial for our future clients. [208.3s] Yeah, billboards. [209.5s] Alladin is going around and like feeling like [214.4s] like touching all, you know, like when Carla and I were trapped [217.2s] in that escape room and you guys were in the other room [220.4s] and we thought like we are going to touch literally every single brick [224.1s] in that jail cell. [225.6s] And like none of them actually were anything. [228.2s] But you guys had a brick that was sparkly that you should have touched. [231.0s] I know. I'm doing that right now. [233.4s] I'm like just like just like there's got to be [237.1s] there's got to be like a crack. [238.7s] There's got to be breeze coming for. [241.6s] I don't know. Yeah. [242.8s] Feeling for something. [245.2s] I'm going to roll investigation. [246.6s] Oh, no, I don't have my dice. [248.0s] I'm going to use the internet. [248.8s] You don't have your dice either. [249.9s] I'm going to use the internet. [251.2s] Not the only one. [252.6s] Golly, my dice are literally right there. [255.2s] It's just I'm going to help you look around like, [257.9s] oh, yeah, investigating. [259.3s] Yeah, I want to investigate as well. [261.0s] Yeah, everybody can investigate. [263.5s] Oh, I've got plus five for investigation, bitches. [266.0s] Oh, no, I'm just helping out and to give Amy advantage. [269.4s] Yeah, I want to roll investigation. [271.2s] I got 15. [273.3s] Dean. [276.4s] Bizarre gave you advantage. [277.7s] Thank God. [279.0s] Don't forget to check here and check there. [282.7s] This is what? Oh, 24. [285.3s] Oh, everybody outside of the current cells. [288.8s] Nina and Cav are inside cells. [291.6s] Nina doesn't bother to look for anything. [293.8s] Cav, you may be looking around, but it's fruitless. [297.2s] What's that post? [298.1s] What's this spoon here? [301.4s] Alydin, you're looking around trying to feel for air [304.9s] and you you make your way kind of to the opposite end of this [310.3s] of this area. [311.1s] There are six cells [314.3s] and in the final cell, you feel the cell door is open [320.6s] and you feel like a bit of a breeze. [322.8s] There aren't windows. [323.8s] This is a very dark. [325.3s] It's only lit by like it's only lit by [329.4s] very dim torchlight. [332.9s] But yeah, you feel a bit of a breeze coming out of this final cell. [337.2s] I want to like try to narrow it down by like [340.5s] moving around the cell and just holding still. [343.5s] And you're making your way along and you you think you feel [348.2s] where this where this is a very harsh, like cool air [352.2s] that's coming in from a cracks around one of these stones first. [358.2s] She wants to pull on [360.8s] on one of the torches, like on the wall, just in case. [363.6s] You know, just in case you pull on them, [366.5s] they don't appear to move. [368.0s] OK, fine. I go to the one [372.4s] rock and the hand motions lately, guys. [375.6s] It's just I'm going to the one rock and honka honka. [380.9s] I want to, I don't know, like, try to like a wuga the rock. [383.7s] Yes. Yeah. Yeah. [385.2s] Some hubba hubba. [386.8s] The rock. OK, you go up to the rock. [389.3s] And as you are manipulating it, [392.2s] accosting it, harassing it, whatever you want to call it, [395.5s] getting your own charges to deserve being down here. [398.6s] Yeah. Getting your rocks off. [400.4s] Oh, it was great. [403.6s] There it is. [406.0s] It takes us a while to get there. [407.3s] But, you know, you you push the rock and they get it [411.0s] like depresses into the wall. [414.3s] That's a great, wonderful, fully perfect timing. [421.0s] Depresses into the wall and you feel it slide [423.9s] in further until finally it collapses [427.4s] inside some chamber that you can't quite make out [431.6s] beyond the room that you're in. [433.4s] But it appears that there is another chamber inside [436.4s] and you even hear the sound of like trickling water beyond. [440.0s] Oh, bizarre. Do you find something? [441.9s] Yeah, look, I made a hole. [444.3s] OK, yeah, that's listening on it. [447.0s] OK, does the torch come off the wall? [451.3s] Yeah, you can lift it off. Yeah. OK. [454.3s] Lift it off and I say, you found it. [456.5s] I can go in unless somebody else wants to check it out. [460.8s] It's like this big. [462.1s] I that's not necessarily a problem. [465.8s] What? I mean, [469.4s] do you think you could fit in there because I'd rather not have to? [473.5s] But I can if I need to. [475.5s] I mean, maybe I could probably fit in there. [479.3s] You know, I'm a little stout, though. [481.0s] You said how big was it? [482.5s] Like this big. [483.2s] And she holds her hands up like basketball. [485.5s] I can. I can. [489.5s] Let me let me try. [490.5s] I've like dislocated my shoulders before. [493.1s] Oh, God. [493.9s] You know, to try and get into some pretty sticky situations. [497.4s] You should be getting out of out of out of out of is way better. [500.9s] He's like a snake. [502.2s] Let me let me just get on the head of my job, too. [506.0s] Alladin is already like trying to get halfway through this. [509.2s] She went like arm first, arm head. [512.9s] Amy's been through small holes. [516.1s] I know exactly how this will go. [518.5s] Ice is the barrens and Nina's cell still locked. [522.3s] Yes. Yeah. [523.6s] Can I try to lockpick them? [526.7s] Yeah, baby. [529.9s] Yeah, it's impossible. [532.7s] Great to meet you. [534.0s] It's going to suck starving to death if we find any rats. [536.8s] I got an eight. [538.4s] It's this is confusing. [539.8s] Yeah. As you as you're trying, [541.5s] like these are old rusted out locks like it as you put your tools in. [546.9s] Like you feel like grinding. [548.8s] And yeah, you're hard to get purchase on on the actual mechanism in there. [552.6s] Might have to do a classic. [555.0s] Maybe you should stand back situation. [557.7s] What do you mean? [559.2s] I'm going to blast. [560.4s] I'm going to blast your door open. [562.1s] Oh, OK. [563.6s] And she who she didn't get off her bed, but she squeaks like squeaks. [569.4s] You know, I like it. [570.5s] She squeaks back and far into the corner. [573.0s] Kavlar, what he said, just like back into the corner. [576.5s] You heard Jeff. [577.9s] I like this. This is good. [580.0s] Nina and Kavlaran best friends forever. [582.1s] Right. That's what Oakes says. [583.6s] Oh, my God. Her and Oak are going to have it out. [587.2s] Don't worry. We don't have to. [588.8s] It's good that we found one of your friends down here. [590.4s] That's great news. All right. [592.6s] I has that. [593.6s] And I cast Eldritch Blast. [596.1s] Boom. Yeah, he did the thing. [599.8s] That's right. Yeah, he did. [602.2s] Is there a spell you want to cast in your warlock? [604.6s] Well, have you heard of Eldritch Blast? [606.4s] Pretty cool. You want to roll me some damage? [608.0s] This door isn't going to move. [609.4s] So I do. Let's go. [612.6s] Um, [616.4s] ooh, so good. [617.8s] Eleven damage. [620.0s] My two blasts of Eldritch Kablamo. [624.8s] Two blasts. You're going door and door or you're targeting a singular door. [629.0s] Singular door. [630.4s] Are you going Nina's or Cavs Nina's? [633.9s] My mind was Cavs, but she moved and I would feel too uncomfortable [637.5s] to not blasters. Right. Obviously. [640.0s] OK. Yeah. [641.2s] Your two blasts go off and like the door [645.1s] almost breaks off of its hinges. [646.8s] But the mechanism bursts free. [649.5s] A few splinters of metal shards shoot out. [652.6s] Um, Cav, make a deck saving throw. [655.9s] I can do that. [657.1s] Oh, an 11. [659.2s] Um, like, yeah, like just like you kind of skims your shoulder. [664.0s] You feel it cut through through your shirt [667.6s] and Nina leans forward and looks as you actually did it. [673.2s] And she stands up and like brushes herself off [675.8s] and starts heading out and says, thank you. [678.4s] Thank you very much. [679.3s] I yell from half in the hole. [683.4s] Can someone grab some of those? [685.2s] Grab some of those metal pieces for me. [687.3s] Can you put some in my bucket? [689.0s] Sure. Yeah, no problem. [690.8s] Thanks, Cav. Inside the hole. [693.5s] As you as you're pushing yourself through, you now realize that there's birth. [698.2s] There's an odor coming from inside. Oh. [705.0s] There's good odors. That's true. [707.3s] It kind of smells in here. [710.1s] It smells like what? Do I do I recognize the smell? [713.6s] It smells like, [715.8s] well, as you say, it kind of smells in here. [718.6s] Nina comes around the corner and she says, darling, [722.6s] I think that is the the town's old aqueduct. [725.7s] Could be a particular place for some certain drainage. [733.3s] Am I smelling poop? [735.1s] You're not not smelling poop. [736.9s] Oh, I think the legal term is gray water. [740.0s] Mm hmm. Yes. [742.0s] See, he knows everything. [743.8s] Do I see anything in here? [746.2s] Um, did I go through without the torch? [750.0s] Well, Bazaar said he had the torch. [751.8s] So, yes, sure did. [753.3s] He sure did. [754.3s] And if I land in poop, [756.4s] you your hand goes down to the ground and it's it's damp. [762.5s] But it does feel like rather cave like, [765.2s] like you're not in like you don't drop into sludge, [769.3s] a sludge, yes, any sludge or like slush of water [772.6s] or anything like that. [773.7s] Oh, I squeeze myself through it. [777.1s] I was like, guys, it smells smells gross in here. [783.6s] I stick my head through the hole and I'm like, [786.9s] can I have a torch? [788.1s] I hand the torch over. [789.3s] Careful the methane. [790.3s] Yes, that could change our plans and go up. [792.2s] Boom. Real quick. [793.4s] What? [794.2s] Oh, a boom. That's probably fine. [796.1s] Not a bad idea, then. [797.8s] If we're not inside of it, you might have to climb back. [800.5s] Should I come? [801.6s] Should I come back out and then we throw the torch in? [805.8s] Yeah. OK. [807.0s] And I squeeze myself back. [809.7s] I'll pull you through. [810.6s] Maybe don't throw. [812.0s] Don't throw it, because if we hit a doo doo pile, [815.0s] it might go away. We don't want that. [816.4s] I tell you what. No, we can we can do this. [818.6s] I cast mage hand. [820.5s] I grab onto the torch. [822.2s] I float my mage hand through the hole as we stand safely in the hallway [826.6s] and see if it blows up. [828.8s] How did you do that? [830.8s] Oh, it's it's a very, very rudimentary cantrip. [836.4s] You just have to imagine like your hand as it's an [840.5s] like an extension of your hand. [841.6s] Imagine if you could stretch your arm out through the weave of the ether. [845.6s] It's like that. [846.2s] Like in my mind, you just see a hand, but in my mind, [848.9s] my arm is stretching out through the hole. [853.6s] So if you could like, you know, see in the ethereal plane, [856.0s] that's what you would see, too. [857.2s] It looks really weird, but it's it's really cool. [859.6s] Anyway, let's see if this blows up. [861.9s] She's just staring at her hand. [866.6s] What are we talking about? Middle stuff. [868.6s] Middle. Welcome to the middle, everybody. [872.2s] You're here. It's a much more subdued middle than last week. [876.2s] My choice for topic today, since Kyle isn't here. [879.3s] You've got the talking stick. [880.7s] Kyle, isn't he great? [882.7s] Are you so glad that we played this super long con on him [888.0s] to make him be a permanent cast member? [891.3s] And it worked. [892.2s] And I'm so proud of us, guys. [894.4s] We really made it happen. [896.2s] And he's wonderful. [898.0s] He is. We sowed the seeds. [901.0s] Drew him in little by little. [903.3s] Just for like a one one story arc. [905.6s] It'll be nothing. [906.5s] And now six years later, one of us. [910.1s] And now he's flying into Edmonton in blizzards. [912.4s] So exactly. Exactly. [915.0s] That's how you know you're committed. [916.4s] Yeah. He'll spin it and say, no, I tricked you, [919.8s] which he probably did. [922.2s] Let's be real. [923.1s] But, you know, we can think that he is very clever. [926.1s] He could have tricked us. [927.4s] But why would he want to? [928.4s] He still hasn't signed the contract, though. [930.1s] So I don't know what he wants. [931.5s] I don't know what he wants in this relationship. [934.3s] Is him not being here a negotiating tactic? [936.8s] Oh, that must be a business trip. [940.3s] But no, no, no. [944.0s] Anyway, Kyle, he's the best. [946.2s] You know who else is the best? [948.1s] Who? Our patrons. [950.0s] This is so true. [951.2s] They support us. [952.7s] Um, emotionally and also financially. [956.6s] Absolutely. [958.0s] And we try to give them some value in return, [962.0s] like extra episodes of other shows and see our faces [967.6s] every now and again. [969.0s] You can come see our faces. [970.5s] You can hang out with us. [972.0s] Watch us there, too. [974.7s] Don't forget, Kyle is normally here. [977.0s] Exactly. So like, that's a huge selling point, right? [980.5s] It's true. He's like handsome Jesus. [982.4s] That's what he looks like. [983.4s] Handsome Jesus. Oh, yes. [985.6s] Handsome Jesus classic. [987.1s] That's right. [988.5s] But our extra special number one tied with Kyle is our patron [993.3s] that we're dedicating this episode to. [995.6s] Who is Logan Moore? [998.1s] Logan Moore. [1000.0s] Related. Is that your cousin? [1001.8s] I know. Any relation? [1003.0s] No relation that I'm aware of. [1004.8s] 2-0, 1-0. What are we talking about? [1006.4s] Singular O. They're doing it. [1008.0s] Singular O. [1009.1s] Long lost cousin Logan. [1010.5s] I can't wait to see you at the family reunion, [1012.8s] even though my last name is not Moore. [1014.6s] So I won't be there. [1015.3s] You would definitely be at the family reunion. [1018.4s] I do come to all of the Russ and Amy More family events. [1022.6s] You'll have your reunion crocs there. [1024.5s] It'll be a whole thing. [1026.3s] Exactly. [1027.4s] Logan, I can't wait to meet you at the family reunion. [1030.4s] Me too. [1031.0s] You're the best. [1032.3s] It's going to be a great time. [1033.9s] That family reunion that we're going to have. [1036.9s] The next event we have, that'll be our meet up, [1039.7s] is called a family reunion. [1041.1s] I like that. [1043.3s] And then in brackets, but not really for business purposes. [1047.2s] Oh, yes. [1048.5s] It'll be the family reunion. [1051.3s] Just put it there. [1052.8s] Yeah, just a lot of quotes. [1054.2s] Lot of quotes. [1055.1s] No, for reals, Angela. [1056.3s] Honestly, it's what I'll say. [1059.0s] Exactly. [1059.7s] Yeah. [1060.7s] OK, thank you for listening, everybody. [1063.3s] We'll get you back to the episode, which [1066.0s] is exactly how all trial episodes end up, [1070.8s] is with somebody in jail. [1072.8s] Well, sometimes, yeah. [1074.1s] I mean, in Tom's case. [1076.9s] Maybe they get out. [1078.3s] Maybe they don't. [1079.5s] Dung dung. [1080.5s] That's how you have to end it. [1081.6s] Yeah. [1082.2s] For court. [1082.8s] OK. [1083.6s] Love you, bye. [1084.2s] Love you, bye. [1084.9s] Love you, bye. [1086.6s] Bizarre's Mage Hand takes the torch [1088.4s] and slowly moves through. [1090.4s] And as anybody's watching it, [1092.1s] the flame begins to die down until it's just a flicker. [1097.9s] And it disappears into the darkness [1100.8s] until there's this huge bright flash that goes off. [1107.6s] And flames shoot out like a straight shot into the room. [1112.1s] And then it's quickly followed by a loud explosion [1116.4s] that echoes and shakes the walls. [1118.5s] Dust and stone begins to fall from the ceiling inside. [1123.3s] And all of your ears are ringing at this moment. [1128.4s] Can't believe that happened. [1130.6s] Thank you for not passing me the torch in there. [1133.5s] Maybe. [1134.2s] Am I yelling? [1135.5s] Maybe we should have given a warning before a warning. [1140.1s] We kind of did it in a roundabout way, I think. [1142.7s] Well, he explained an ethereal plane [1146.2s] and there's something about a hand [1147.8s] and then said, let's watch it. [1150.5s] So we did. [1151.5s] There was an implied potential explosion. [1153.4s] There was an implied. [1155.0s] I don't know. [1155.5s] It was just cool. [1157.9s] That's a fireball, William. [1161.0s] Oh, where does that fuck around here? [1164.2s] Is Cav still in their cell? [1166.7s] We got to bust him out, too. [1168.5s] Yeah. [1169.8s] I want to try to redeem myself. [1171.8s] Fuck! [1173.0s] I did one. [1174.0s] Oh, you should do it like this. [1175.8s] Like. [1177.6s] No. [1178.2s] It's impossible. [1179.3s] I don't know how they did. [1180.5s] I understand it one. [1182.4s] It's different locking mechanisms. [1184.6s] Like it's from an era by the past. [1187.2s] This is why they discontinued these. [1188.4s] They were too hard to. [1191.2s] The guards couldn't even unlock them with the keys. [1193.8s] There's no way to do it. [1194.8s] The fact that they're in there right now [1196.6s] is just mind boggling. [1198.7s] I'm going to blast him. [1200.2s] All right. [1201.2s] Again, Eldritch Blast, go Cav. [1205.8s] Give me another dex save. [1207.0s] You're the only one on that side now. [1208.8s] Only six for damage. [1212.1s] Hold on. [1213.5s] Oh, 20. [1214.2s] OK. [1215.2s] Hell yeah. [1216.2s] Insight. [1217.0s] Now you know exactly what's going to happen. [1218.6s] You're dodging all of the shards. [1220.8s] There are more of them this time. [1225.0s] Nina comes out and says, I didn't think [1226.4s] he could move that fast. [1228.2s] That was beautiful. [1229.5s] That was good. [1230.0s] I think he's getting hungry. [1231.2s] Oh, that could be. [1232.4s] Yes, I have seen him move very fast [1234.8s] to the free snack buffet. [1236.9s] Yes. [1237.5s] Yeah, the sooner we're out here, [1239.2s] the sooner we can get some snacks. [1241.7s] I go for some hot dog or. [1243.2s] Oh, yes. [1244.2s] Like pizza. [1245.0s] I like pizza. [1246.8s] Hey, I hate to spoil the party, [1249.6s] but we kind of just blew up part of the city. [1251.8s] I don't think we're going to stop for snacks. [1254.7s] No, no, no. [1255.2s] We need to get the fuck out of here. [1257.0s] The snacks are the reward. [1258.5s] Yeah. [1259.0s] Yeah, no, once we get out, like she [1261.6s] peeks her head through the hole, [1263.7s] this probably leads somewhere. [1265.5s] You said there are well-known tunnels [1268.0s] under this city. [1269.8s] All we need to do is find the tunnels, [1271.6s] and then we can get to the city hall. [1273.5s] We can get the evidence. [1274.9s] And then Bob's your uncle. [1277.3s] Cabs free. [1278.6s] I can disappear into the night. [1280.3s] Easy. [1280.7s] All's good. [1281.8s] Wait, where are those books? [1283.2s] You can't disappear. [1285.4s] Why not? [1286.0s] Because then we'll be on the run forever. [1289.3s] Why do you have to be on the run? [1290.3s] We kind of need you for some evidence, please. [1292.3s] For justice. [1292.8s] Well, yes, I get you the evidence. [1295.0s] Fine. [1296.5s] But do they need to see my face? [1298.0s] Like, I've been down here for three weeks, [1299.4s] and all I've seen is dreck. [1300.8s] Yeah, but I think it's pretty important [1302.9s] to be able to tell them that they couldn't find you, [1306.6s] and you were in a cell directly beneath the courthouse. [1311.4s] The people need to know. [1314.0s] OK. [1316.0s] Or we don't give them the satisfaction. [1318.0s] We say that we found you. [1321.2s] You weren't in jail, and you're [1322.8s] here to right the wrongs that [1324.6s] have been done in your name. [1327.2s] Whatever works best for the story. [1330.8s] I'm just here to support whatever you need from me. [1335.8s] I will supply the evidence. [1338.4s] We just have to get through that hole, which is now, [1340.9s] not surprisingly, much larger. [1343.2s] Yeah, thanks. [1343.7s] That's great. [1344.4s] I was not looking forward to squeezing through that. [1347.3s] It doesn't appear that the guards, maybe the guards left. [1349.9s] They just locked us in here and hoped that maybe we [1352.4s] ran out of oxygen. [1355.1s] Unrelated explosion, I guess. [1356.8s] I don't know. [1357.2s] Earthquake. [1358.3s] She looks down at Alydin. [1360.2s] Mayor Knops is not a good person. [1363.2s] I know. [1365.3s] OK. [1366.4s] They're both paid off by Mayor Knops. [1368.6s] You've been down here three weeks. [1370.0s] You would have run out of oxygen. [1371.5s] They had the door open. [1372.1s] I've spent time in a box. [1373.5s] They had the door open. [1374.4s] She walks over, and she looks into the giant hole, [1382.2s] be like, let's get out of here. [1384.2s] Do any of you guys also have dark vision? [1387.2s] Yes. [1388.0s] No. [1390.0s] So just you, sir, wizard. [1396.0s] How about you? [1396.5s] We worked together for three years. [1399.3s] Yes. [1401.7s] As advisors to the mayor. [1403.6s] I had to really sell that I hated you, Bazaar. [1411.6s] I know your name. [1413.6s] I just fall back into it. [1414.9s] Oh, I don't care about Bazaar. [1417.2s] I've crawled through this hole. [1418.1s] I'm not slipping him secret notes that he's not seeing ever always. [1422.2s] I didn't see secret notes. [1423.4s] These are like those stories you read Benson where they're like, [1426.0s] oh, we're unrequited lovers hiding in dark circles. [1428.6s] Yes. [1431.0s] Retardant Flames is the most recent one I've read. [1434.6s] I like this. [1441.6s] I like the sequel, Don't Extinguish My Love. [1444.0s] Yes. [1445.0s] I haven't got that far. [1446.2s] Don't tell me don't spoil it. [1448.3s] So mad. [1449.2s] What do I see in this tunnel that I've heard this cave cavern? [1454.5s] I've gone ahead. [1455.3s] I'm exploring. [1456.8s] OK, you can you can all go in. [1458.3s] The child does not have dark vision, right? [1460.2s] Yes, she does. [1461.0s] She's half elf. [1462.0s] Hail. [1463.7s] You go through and anybody else who? [1465.9s] Well, I mean, everybody else has to go through there at some point. [1468.4s] No, I'm good. Bye bye. [1470.6s] I live here now. [1471.0s] This is why I leave here. [1472.3s] It's going to be here. [1473.2s] Have a good one. [1474.6s] Everybody goes through and it opens into more of like a cave inlet, [1479.2s] which there appears to be like tally marks on the inside of this cave. [1485.8s] And you get in a little further and there's a skeleton on the floor. [1490.7s] Is tally dead? [1494.0s] Tally marks. [1494.5s] Rust, what'd you do? [1496.4s] Not tally marks. [1499.4s] Tally marks. [1500.6s] Wow. [1502.4s] Is that tally's last name? [1504.8s] Is that tally's last name, Marks? [1506.2s] That could be tally's last name. [1509.1s] I mean, she doesn't know her last name, but it's probably Marks. [1511.4s] It's probably Marks. [1512.4s] Yeah, you got me. [1514.4s] Yeah, the child is dead. [1516.3s] It is not. [1517.8s] It's Bazaar's fault. [1518.7s] It's Kyle's fault, everybody. [1520.4s] Hi, how are you doing? [1522.1s] Like, that's the worst thing I've done on this podcast. [1524.2s] Any trauma on this podcast is Kyle's fault. [1526.6s] Usually, yes. [1529.2s] I would like to summon my familiar. [1531.9s] OK. [1533.8s] I kind of like reach into my. [1536.0s] Benson runs up behind you. [1538.0s] Yeah, he's here the whole time. [1541.5s] You called? [1544.0s] All right. [1544.3s] Let's let me go back to my specs. [1546.0s] Yes, I summoned a guy when I was looking up the one I could summon. [1552.3s] I think it was a coding error in D&D Beyond. [1556.0s] But I was like, I just summoned a guy. [1557.9s] Like, it's like a dude. [1560.3s] It's like, I mean, I don't think they want you to. [1563.0s] But like some of the D&D Beyond, you know, if you click the button, [1565.9s] I'm going to summon Jeffrey. [1568.3s] It's a it's a could be summonable, but it's it's an it's an owl. [1575.2s] It's your kind of bog standard, [1579.6s] sort of like what you think about an owl, what it is. [1583.2s] And I kind of reach into my [1586.2s] crumpled suit pocket and like kind of like pull out like I'm pulling out [1591.1s] like a handkerchief or something. [1592.2s] But you see like [1594.9s] glowing ethereal lines come out. [1597.0s] And then the owl goes and plays up like, all right, Murdock, go fly around. [1601.6s] Make sure we don't get, I don't know, ambushed or what have you. [1606.6s] He just took an owl out of his pocket. [1609.9s] How's that for being a wizard? [1611.8s] Kidding, kidding, kidding, kidding. [1614.1s] That's your thing, not my thing. [1615.7s] No, I mean, you know, it's a it's a good spell. [1618.1s] I don't know it. [1619.5s] So very impressive. [1621.3s] Owl flies off out of sight. [1623.1s] Alydin's like right beside you. [1624.7s] Teach me. All right. [1626.2s] Well, it's less of a teach and more of [1629.0s] make a couple of promises you got to keep or else situation. [1633.0s] You don't want to get into that kid, maybe 10 more years. [1636.8s] She takes a step back. [1637.6s] You don't have to get into that. [1639.3s] No more years, none. [1641.4s] Hey, hey, sometimes it's the best option. [1643.4s] I don't know. You can make a lot of promises. [1647.1s] Thurston here, promises every day. [1650.2s] I keep my promises. [1653.0s] Some of them, too. [1655.1s] Owl comes back, relays to you. [1659.3s] What did we say? [1660.7s] You don't you don't see, but you can telepathically communicate. [1664.4s] In a sense, yeah. [1665.7s] Yeah. Yeah. [1666.7s] So, yeah, I communicate to you that there is more of a up around the bend. [1672.2s] There's more of a [1674.8s] a manmade structure, and it does appear to be like an old aqueduct. [1679.7s] There's a few [1682.6s] egresses down along the way as far as he could go within that time period [1686.8s] and come back. [1688.2s] A lot of them do appear to be sealed off [1691.4s] by more structure, you could assume, based on how deep you've gone into the ground, [1697.4s] like almost like parts of city on top of the city kind of thing. [1703.4s] I relay the information. [1704.9s] So all we need to do is get to City Hall. [1707.8s] And if we are at the courthouse, we shouldn't be too far. [1712.2s] Does anybody remember which direction the City Hall was? [1718.4s] I've been down here for three weeks. [1720.0s] Like left is right, the right is up, down is. [1722.8s] That's why they have the spiral staircase. [1724.8s] I was about to say, we turned right 36 times on the way down here. [1728.4s] It's very discombobulating. [1730.4s] That's why it's so confusing. [1733.5s] They must have done that on purpose. [1735.5s] So you get disoriented coming down into the earth. [1738.3s] That makes me really upset. [1740.6s] That there was reason for the thing that they did at the beginning. [1744.4s] And it worked. [1745.5s] I usually love functional design, but not in this case. [1749.0s] Yeah, this is hostile architecture. [1751.0s] Mm hmm. [1751.9s] Does anybody have any background in like city infrastructure? [1756.2s] Anybody? No. [1758.3s] Cab, did you pay attention [1760.4s] when you spent that week in city infrastructure course? [1764.1s] Yeah, you could probably muddle through. [1767.4s] I have a plus three in nature. [1768.7s] Can I like just tell which way is north? [1772.4s] With disadvantage, you could roll. [1774.1s] All right. [1775.9s] Disadvantage, hey. Yeah. [1779.2s] Roll twice, take the worst. [1780.7s] All right. Well, that's pretty good. [1784.4s] It doesn't. Yeah, then 19. Yeah, that's great. [1787.8s] And then the second one is a 19. [1790.8s] It's a 15, not bad. [1792.8s] 15 is not bad. That's great. [1795.3s] Yeah, Alydin, you've been stuck in a lot of underground places, [1799.1s] a lot of boxes, a lot of holes, a lot of ethereal places [1804.2s] where there is no perceptive north, south, east, west. [1809.3s] This place, all in all, seems rather easy to you. [1813.4s] And as everybody's trying to look around, [1815.0s] trying to get their bearings, it like comes to you [1818.5s] the direction that you need to go and you need to follow the aqueduct. [1822.7s] Like straight down. [1825.4s] And at least you get the good perspective of where City Hall is. [1830.8s] We have to go this way. [1832.7s] She points down the aqueduct. [1836.4s] I'll trust you. [1838.8s] Very well. Wow, that was easy. [1843.8s] I mean, if you can't trust a 14 year old, who can you trust?
