[0.0s] Don't go anywhere, Dumbgeons and Dragons will begin in a moment. [6.6s] We hear the sound of the River River and pan over top of the latest shipments that have [12.5s] come in. [13.5s] We're winding our way down the streets of the Artisan District and we see Bonwyn heading [20.2s] her way down towards the docks to pick up her latest shipment of ore and we see [24.8s] Alydin popping in and out of the store owner's fronts, slyly pocketing a fresh apple and [31.9s] some day old scones. [34.0s] Making our way through we hold on a very small door entrance packed between two other [40.3s] storefronts, on one side the snip and twirl hair salon, on the other the threads [46.5s] of fate, the tailor, InVintersmouth. [50.1s] And right in between those two stores is the Magic Closet by Bizard, doesn't look [57.2s] like too much from the outside, has a swinging sign out front denoting that this store, [63.3s] which looks like it might just be a stairwell, is in fact somewhat of a special shop, [69.5s] a magic shop. [71.7s] There's a couple of kids who rush up to the door and open it with a jingle [74.8s] of the bell and they run inside and to greet them, seated behind the desk, is Bizard the [81.1s] Wizard. [82.1s] Kyle, if you wouldn't mind describing Bizard. [87.1s] Bizard is a, you know, not a very robust man, he's fairly frail and the appearance [94.3s] of his age far surpasses his actual age. [97.2s] He has a salt and pepper coiffed hair, of course cut by the fantastic barbers over [103.2s] at the snip and twirl. [105.6s] And in his eyes, as he looks up from behind the counter, you can see his eyes are green [111.5s] with specks of gray in them, they kind of shift around as he looks. [117.6s] There is incense nearby that wafts through the air, leaving a pleasant aroma of cinnamon [124.5s] and apples and a touch of indescribable arcane essence that is just enticing, it really draws [134.0s] out the curiosity, especially of the younglings that are around town. [139.6s] He sits up behind his very narrow countertop with very narrow shelves, they go very [145.8s] high up, a lot of hooks going up close to the ceiling, maybe like ten feet high, [153.0s] which for any instance that he needs to access it, a quick summoning of the magical specter hand. [160.3s] He will reach up and grab whatever the kids or whatever their clientele need so that [165.8s] they don't have to worry about climbing too high. [167.9s] But he sits up from his book that he's reading, sets it down, puts the bookmark [173.5s] inside of it, closes it, says, ah kids, hey, y'all come back for some more of those [181.0s] good trick-playing stuff, y'all looking for some of those? [183.3s] Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, what do you got in new this week? [185.7s] Flashbang ones really, really scared my parents and they said I can't come back in so I've [190.2s] told them that I'm just gonna go get some milk and eggs, but what do you got in new? [197.8s] Well, you don't have to lie to them about getting milk and eggs because let me show [201.6s] you, as I pull out a cauldron and place it on my countertop, I take some milks, [207.0s] I take some eggs, I mix it all together and I throw in just this random bag of powder [212.7s] and whip it all together and it becomes this like oozing gel that just coagulates [218.9s] together. [219.9s] He pulls it out of the pot with a schlorping sound and lays it on the ground and he [224.0s] says, fake throw up. [228.0s] Next time you want to fake ill and miss out on your lessons, you could use this [234.8s] and stay home to do whatever you want. [237.7s] Eww, that's so gross! [240.7s] I know, it's really gross. [242.2s] They reach up and grab for it and it's like slipping through their hands. [245.7s] It feels like it feels so real. [250.4s] Don't actually throw up, please. [252.5s] He reaches into his pocket, the little kid, and puts some money up on the counter [257.2s] and kind of starts trying to scoop it into his bag that he has on him. [262.6s] Hopefully that will satiate your mischievous needs. [266.7s] Oh, it absolutely will! [268.6s] If you're looking for anything else or you have friends that want to procure some fake [273.9s] vomit as well, tell them to come my way and as long as they do, as long as they [280.0s] tell me your name, James, you can just go ahead and take that with you. [283.4s] Thanks, Bizard! [284.4s] And he runs out. [285.4s] I'll tell everyone! [286.4s] I'll tell everyone! [287.4s] Come on, Sarah! [288.4s] Let's go! [289.4s] Ta-ta, James! [290.4s] Have a great day, Sarah! [291.4s] Bizards run out and Dorse slams shut behind them, which shakes a couple of the things [295.4s] on the wall, and we leave Bizard, who heads behind his desk and returns to his book. [303.0s] Welcome to Dumbgeons and Dragons, a D&D 5th edition actual play podcast. [308.0s] I'm your dungeon master Russ More, he him, and Dumbgeons and Dragons stars today, [313.4s] Kyle Claset, as Bizard the wizard. [316.8s] Believe me, I know where I got my green eyes and I love them, and I want to [321.2s] hold on to them as long as I can. [323.4s] Dumbgeons and Dragons is a D&D production and supported by our patrons. [328.9s] Find out more at patreon.com slash D&Dcast where you can get access to a whole bunch [333.1s] of exclusive audio to fill the time after you're all caught up on this show. [337.9s] And now, fuck it, let's play! [345.5s] There is the monumentous sound of giant bells ringing. [351.1s] This is the bell at the tower of Barnhart Swan's School of Magic Fighting and Dance, [357.6s] which is found in Kingstown, a few days' journey from Vintersmouth. [363.4s] We are ten to twelve years earlier from present time, and the huge double wide doors [371.1s] of the school burst open and rushing down the main staircase are the latest graduates [375.7s] of the school's senior class. [377.7s] As they are all greeted by their parents and loved ones, and whisked off to have [384.8s] a luxurious and decadent meal to celebrate their hard work, one student slowly exits. [392.9s] That is Bizard, who we see in a much younger form. [398.6s] Kyle, would you please describe Bizard as he's walking out and down this main staircase? [407.1s] Yeah, Bizard obviously shows the skin and complexion of a much younger man. [414.4s] His eyes are almost completely green, only a few specks of gray dot them here and there, [420.9s] and his hair has only started to receive just tidbits of white here and there. [429.4s] Not coiffed, it's kind of a messy to-do as far as his hair goes. [434.5s] He can't tame it worth anything, but it hasn't been his focus. [439.4s] He is still, despite having graduated, knows in a book, like in fact he probably should [447.3s] have returned it at this point. [449.7s] As he leaves the school, the book is snatched out of his hand, flies back through the [454.3s] double doors, and he goes, right, right, no tuition, no books, no tuition, no books. [461.8s] No point in spending more money there, not that I had to spend any, but we're done there. [467.1s] We can move on to our own thing now that we've taken all the knowledge that we can [471.6s] from it and the time that they would give us. [476.0s] Should I say bye to my father? [478.1s] Ugh. [480.8s] I should go see my mother. [483.8s] I will go see my mother. [486.1s] I can't leave without seeing my mom. [488.5s] My dad, hmm, we'll see. [492.8s] And he begins to make his way down the streets of Kingston to a small restaurant, kind of [501.4s] a hole in the wall kind of place, and he walks into the back door, and there you [508.0s] see a scullery maid. [510.6s] She turns around, she's got a white cap tied on like a bonnet, and has auburn hair, [517.9s] and she turns around, a lazy eye kind of looks towards Bizard, and Bizard says, [524.3s] Clara, mother, today was my graduation day, and I understand that you were unable to [530.8s] get off work to come celebrate it with me, and I wanted to let you know that I understand. [539.7s] I know, Biz, Biz, I'm so sorry, I tried to get it off, you know how it is around [547.5s] here, they just, I'm the only one on this shift, I'm sorry. [552.2s] I understand, and if dad was worth his salt, then you wouldn't be in this position, [562.5s] but I don't want you to worry. [565.1s] I will be leaving Kingston, I plan to head to Vincersmith. [571.0s] You're leaving Kingstown? [573.1s] Yes, I'm leaving Kingstown. [576.3s] I plan to hand to- [577.3s] When? [578.3s] Right, probably after I get done talking to you, if I can make up my mind whether I even [583.3s] want to see father or not. [585.9s] He was at home when I left, he was passed out, like he's not ever gonna know you [591.3s] were there. [592.3s] That sounds about right, it's either, either the chemicals from the hats, or more [599.1s] than likely the drink. [601.5s] I want you to know, mom, that wherever I go, you know, plan is Vincersmith, I'm not sure [608.3s] how long I will be there, or if my ventures will be successful. [613.1s] Regardless of where I end up, regardless of where I go and what I do, I plan to [618.7s] do what I can to alleviate any future stress for your life. [624.3s] I don't want you doing this any more than you have to. [629.7s] Biz, don't worry about me. [633.6s] You get yourself set up, anything you can do, I'll of course be more than grateful, [637.9s] but I've lasted this long, it's gonna take a lot to get me to see the darker side [646.7s] of life. [647.7s] I've always appreciated your outlook on life, I feel like it is what encouraged [653.7s] me to seek after my passions. [657.5s] I know I didn't do a lot of things kids did around town, and early on cloistered myself [665.7s] away in the libraries and different archives that the city has to offer the public, [671.9s] so thank you for encouraging me. [674.1s] It's only through your words that I had the resolve to get myself into school. [682.4s] And he has a sly smile and kind of like a squint of like, hmm, kind of betraying the [689.6s] nature of his method of getting into school. [694.3s] But I also, I don't want father to know that I'm sending you money. [704.2s] Okay, well. [705.7s] I don't, you, it's for you. [709.8s] It's not for him. [711.6s] Okay, well, if we're to keep it from him, maybe you don't send it to the house, maybe [717.1s] you send it, well, you can send it here. [721.6s] Yes, actually, I've already had a conversation with the owner. [727.7s] We are going to make it as a part of your payment, we'll send it to him, he will [733.2s] forward it on to you through your compensation, that way you don't have to worry about [738.9s] any taxation or any issues, and he is going to also doctor any kind of payroll in case [746.9s] father would have become wise. [749.1s] You're too good to me, Biz. [751.3s] I don't, I, your father and I, we, when you signed up at that school, we, we hear [761.3s] about the dangers of playing with, with magics, it worried me and it infuriated him, but [773.5s] you've got a real chance, Biz. [777.1s] I recognize this. [778.3s] You, I want you to be safe, okay? [782.9s] I know you have the skill, I know you, I've seen it, I know you, I've seen it. [790.9s] It astonishes me every time you pull out one of your wild tricks, but I want you to be [795.1s] safe and use it only when you need to, right? [799.5s] Because you've seen some of those old guys up in the tower. [802.3s] They shouldn't be that worn. [804.4s] The only reason they're still standing is because they work at that tower. [808.2s] It's true. [809.2s] You're right. [810.4s] And I know I have received some of the graying in my eyes that accompanies the [818.0s] use of magic. [820.7s] Believe me, I know where I got my green eyes and I love them and I want to hold on to them [825.7s] as long as I can, Mother. [827.9s] She steps forward to you and puts a hand on your, on your cheek and just looks at you [834.2s] in the eye and says, write to me when you get there and let me know you're okay. [838.9s] And then every week, okay? [841.7s] Will do. [842.7s] I'll write back when I can, but if you, if, if you don't hear from me, like, it's [848.8s] going to be okay. [851.0s] I've trusted you so far in life and I'm going to continue to trust you. [855.8s] I know you can take care of yourself and if I'm able to offer any kind of help, [862.0s] I appreciate you taking it. [864.2s] You'll know where I'll be. [866.6s] Ventersmith first and I'll communicate if I have to go from there. [870.8s] She pulls you into a deep hug and there's just like a catch in her throat. [875.3s] She pats you on the back and gives a little cough. [879.0s] Well, if you're, if you're going to get going, you might as well go now and swing [884.4s] by the home and get some of your things. [887.5s] If you need, just make sure you keep quiet, okay? [891.5s] I'll do my best. [892.6s] I'll try not to rouse the old codger, but we know how he is and I feel at least [902.9s] I have a better handle on things than I used to. [906.4s] So I love you, Mom, and I'll talk to you soon. [912.1s] I love you too, Pace. [915.4s] You hear a call from the other room and it says, [918.4s] Clara, we need your help. [919.9s] I got to go. I got to go. [922.4s] I'll wait for your letter when you get there and be safe. [925.4s] She kisses you on the forehead and turns and leaves the room quickly. [931.9s] I kind of wipe a little tear out of my eye and turn, make my way out the back door, [938.9s] head down the road and follow the all too familiar smell of the acrid chemicals [945.6s] that my father uses in his haberdashery to create hats for all those pompous [952.1s] nobles that he tries to hobnob with. [955.6s] Make my way into the door as quietly as I can. [959.1s] We'll be right back. [963.1s] It's the middle. [965.5s] Welcome to the middle, everybody. [968.4s] Oh, it's a special middle. [970.4s] Great time. [971.4s] It's a special middle. [974.8s] Normally when we have guests on, the guests are not in the middle, [977.3s] but Kyle's here with us. [978.3s] I'm not a normal guest. [980.1s] It's true. [980.7s] He's a regular cast member. [981.9s] In fact, I'm the one sort of intruding here because I am not in this episode. [987.5s] So it's kind of, yeah, the Russ and Kyle show. [991.2s] And I love it. [993.0s] Well, look how the tables have turned. [996.2s] Kyle's usurped us all. [1000.7s] This is really just the slow move in, like, yeah, Kyle's [1003.7s] going to be here for a couple of episodes. [1005.0s] All right, bye, everybody. [1005.8s] We'll let you know when it's done. [1007.2s] Yeah, go on vacation. [1008.1s] Don't worry about it. [1009.5s] I'm glad you're all here. [1011.5s] Fuck it. [1012.0s] Let's play TNT. [1014.3s] Oh, no, I didn't bring my dice. [1018.1s] Yes, we're super happy to have Kyle back. [1021.1s] Playing a character who's got deep backstory in this world [1025.0s] has been around for some time now. [1028.0s] And we're excited to explore that more next week. [1031.3s] Kyle, if you could sum up in a word [1034.6s] how you feel the next episode will go without any spoilers. [1039.9s] So now there's a lot of caveats to this. [1042.9s] What would that word be? [1043.9s] Let me think. [1044.9s] One word, unexpected. [1048.4s] Love it. [1048.9s] Yeah. [1049.4s] Yep. [1050.5s] I think that's a good way to look at it. [1054.0s] And Tom's here in the middle. [1055.7s] Tom just jumped into the middle. [1057.2s] Just popped in. [1058.2s] Jumping right into it. [1059.4s] On the fly. [1060.5s] Can't get rid of all of us, Kyle. [1061.9s] Nice try. [1062.8s] Ah, you got me, you dastardly kids. [1067.3s] I would have got away with it if it wasn't for you kids. [1070.0s] And it wouldn't be a middle without Amy, who's [1073.5s] slowly stumbling. [1074.3s] Oh, also coming into it. [1075.8s] This is a slow reveal middle. [1078.1s] It's all happening. [1080.7s] I'm just here. [1081.5s] You can't hear anybody, but that's fine. [1083.7s] So we'll just wrap up this middle [1085.4s] here to say that Kyle's here with us playing [1087.4s] Bizard the Wizard. [1089.7s] And we're having a great time in this session. [1092.3s] And if you want to hear more of Kyle with us, [1096.0s] come join us at Patreon, patreon.com slash [1098.5s] dumbdragoncast, where tonight as we record this, [1101.2s] we're recording some super special bonus content that's [1103.9s] going to be exclusive to patrons for a little bit, [1106.7s] at the very least, until we decide [1108.2s] what we're going to do with it. [1109.5s] But it's going to be a blast. [1111.2s] Oh, and not to mention, get on over there to Facing Fate. [1113.7s] I came in late. [1114.6s] I don't know if we talked about that already. [1116.6s] Yeah. [1118.1s] Yeah, you can go over to Facing Fate. [1119.7s] Well, yeah, because Kyle plays with us there. [1122.0s] Oh, yeah, Kyle plays with us over there too. [1124.3s] That's very true. [1125.3s] Look, I came in and said something relevant. [1127.4s] Everyone's eyes, you guys, everyone was like, [1130.1s] where are you going with this? [1131.1s] Yes, we play all sorts of things over there. [1135.1s] Well, that's it. [1136.1s] That's the middle. [1137.3s] Everybody's here now. [1138.4s] And that's where we say, enjoy the rest of the episode, [1141.6s] and we'll talk to you soon. [1142.8s] OK, bye. [1143.3s] Bye. [1152.1s] You enter through the living room. [1155.5s] And before you head upstairs, you quietly close the door. [1159.3s] You look around, and you see your father. [1163.6s] You pause for a moment just to make sure [1165.5s] that you haven't stirred him, but he's in a deep slumber. [1168.5s] He's got a loose leaf newspaper just kind of [1172.8s] over the chest, falling onto the ground. [1176.7s] There's a bottle on the table that is, you know, [1181.5s] two thirds empty. [1183.8s] He's in a deep snore as you, if you choose to, [1188.1s] move towards the staircase. [1190.9s] Yeah, I'm going to move my way towards the staircase [1195.0s] as quietly as I can, minding the creaky boards [1198.2s] that I know from early on in my life. [1202.6s] You want to roll stealth with advantage, [1206.8s] because you've done this many, many, many times. [1209.3s] Oh, yeah. [1210.3s] Stealth with advantage, roll to 10 and 11. [1212.8s] So that gives me a 13 total. [1216.7s] A 13, all right. [1218.4s] Yeah, you're minding the staircase. [1220.5s] You get near to the top, and there's a slight creak [1224.8s] as you would expect. [1226.9s] You move your foot just beyond. [1229.2s] You slink into your bedroom as you hear [1231.7s] the rumbling snores from downstairs. [1235.2s] I'm not picturing you have a lot of things [1238.3s] in this space. [1239.5s] No. [1241.2s] Maybe some childhood, like my one childhood toy, [1245.7s] which is honestly just a miniature version of a bookshelf [1250.0s] that I kept miniature books on. [1252.2s] I enjoyed that. [1253.0s] I was like, hmm, I've got my own little library. [1255.1s] This is enjoyable. [1256.4s] Maybe I'll do this when I grow up. [1259.7s] Gather my traveling clothes. [1260.9s] Of course, I go ahead and change [1262.3s] out of my graduation garbs, [1264.2s] and I leave those on the bed. [1268.1s] I leave them behind. [1268.9s] I don't take them with me. [1270.7s] I go ahead and don my traveling gear and clothes. [1274.9s] I'll pick up some food on the way out [1276.6s] from some of the patisseries and whatnot [1282.5s] that I know of around town before I leave, [1286.2s] and gather paper, quill, ink, [1290.8s] and the first book that I ever checked out [1296.8s] from a library, The Legend of the Bladesinger. [1301.3s] Supposedly, it's a mix of fiction and non-fiction. [1306.5s] At the heart of the story, there's truth, [1309.6s] but it has been romanticized to make it more palatable [1315.3s] for the non-scholarly, [1319.3s] but it's what fueled my initial desire to learn more, [1324.4s] because I could read between the lines. [1327.5s] You pack these up in your satchel, [1330.4s] and go to leave your room, [1332.9s] and you still hear the snores echoing up the staircase, [1337.5s] and you make your way back down to the front entryway. [1340.2s] You haven't stirred your father. [1343.3s] In fact, he makes a big cough [1345.8s] as you go to reach for the door, [1348.1s] and you see him kind of flip over, [1350.8s] and the newspapers go everywhere. [1353.9s] He's nearly falling off the couch itself. [1358.4s] Seems to have taken to the bottle a little bit more today. [1362.4s] I guess he didn't have any clientele coming through, [1364.5s] so let's see if we can make one more run at the register. [1369.3s] And I go over to the cash register behind the counter [1373.0s] in an attempt to secure myself a few more traveling funds [1376.9s] before I head out. [1378.9s] What's the mechanism, if there is one on the register, [1382.9s] is it just a drawer, or is there any sort of physical? [1386.7s] Oh yeah, I'm imagining a full on register. [1390.3s] Either I've gotta get the key, [1392.8s] which I know is on his person, [1394.7s] or I've got to be deft enough to hit the no sale button [1399.7s] and silence the bell in time. [1401.5s] Right, so which one are you gonna try to do here? [1406.5s] He seems inebriated enough to, [1410.5s] I don't know, if the creek at the top of the stairs [1412.1s] didn't wake him up, me opening and closing my door [1414.3s] didn't catch him, it might be best to go for the key. [1418.5s] I'm not as quick as others, [1423.6s] but I trust in his inebriation [1426.5s] more than I trust in my own dexterity, [1428.5s] so the key it is. [1431.8s] And I go over and he's always got like an overcoat on [1437.7s] and the key is always kind of tied to an inside button, [1443.6s] which is, it's the worst method of holding it on there [1447.9s] because really it's not tied to the button, it's looped, [1450.2s] but the button being on the inside breast pocket, [1453.7s] little complicated. [1456.5s] Still a better bet than trying to keep a bell quiet, [1459.3s] that's gonna automatically ring. [1461.6s] So I move my way over and start to slowly lift [1466.3s] the breast pocket and reach my hand in to pilfer the key. [1470.7s] Make a sleight of hand check please. [1473.9s] I bet I'm bad at that too. [1479.3s] That's a 12. [1482.0s] Okay, you turn your back to the door [1485.0s] and this all crosses through your mind [1487.5s] and you make your way over and you pull open [1489.9s] the overcoat, which is loose enough [1492.4s] that you're able to find the key, but it is tied on. [1498.2s] So you begin to loosen the knot itself [1500.5s] and there's another cough that comes from your old man [1503.3s] and he stirs, which you put your hands up [1509.6s] to give him a moment to see if he settles. [1512.7s] And it appears that he has fallen back into slumber [1518.2s] as you go back for the key. [1521.0s] And just as it loosens and you are pulling the key out, [1529.1s] there's a swift movement of his hand [1531.5s] as he reaches for you. [1534.1s] Make a dexterity saving throw for me. [1537.4s] That's a 19. [1539.4s] Okay, in his state, big hand reaches. [1544.9s] Sorry, we haven't really just described your father. [1547.2s] Bigger man, I'm picturing. [1549.5s] Yeah, he's a bigger man for sure. [1553.3s] Name is Terry and has pit stains usually. [1558.0s] Of course, chemicals have changed the color [1560.5s] of his garments that he wears and everything. [1563.3s] He is always wearing one of his own hats [1566.7s] regardless of how ridiculous and unstylish it is, [1570.2s] but he's always trying to sell it off. [1571.9s] Of course. [1573.3s] But yeah, big hairy forearms, [1576.9s] thick calloused hands from accidentally stabbing himself [1579.9s] while drinking and making hats. [1582.1s] Yeah, this big hand comes and reaches for you [1584.6s] and you see it coming. [1585.9s] He's not moving fast, he's inebriated. [1589.0s] He's just waking up, then he'd pause wide, [1591.9s] kind of just bumps up against your leg [1594.1s] and you have the key in hand though [1596.3s] and he's stumbling down saying, [1598.2s] I'm gonna get you, Gudge, get back here. [1601.2s] He's fallen onto the ground [1603.2s] and he's trying to scramble up. [1605.5s] What do you do? [1607.3s] I stop and I kind of just go, [1611.4s] Terry, you are a mess of a man. [1615.9s] How I managed to become who I am [1619.9s] with you as a father is absolutely beyond my understanding [1625.7s] and I actually graduated from a very prestigious school [1629.9s] which the fact that it confounds me [1632.3s] should speak volumes alone. [1635.3s] You've missed the taxation payment yet again. [1638.5s] I found the note and I'm gonna go ahead, [1641.7s] take the taxes out of the till, [1644.0s] go to the clerk and take care of it for you. [1646.8s] I will put the key back whenever I return home. [1651.2s] Go back to sleep, Terry. [1653.6s] Clearly going for deception at this point. [1655.9s] Oh yeah, yeah. [1656.9s] Yeah, roll deception with advantage. [1660.2s] He's stumbling trying to get up [1662.1s] and looking at you like, what are you talking about? [1665.0s] The 16. [1666.9s] Says that's one good thing you've done [1668.8s] since you've been born, son. [1671.8s] You make sure it's paid or I'll find you. [1675.7s] Absolutely. [1676.8s] He kind of slumps down on the ground. [1679.9s] Clean yourself up. [1681.2s] You clean yourself up. [1683.4s] Reaches for the bottle [1684.9s] and kind of straightens his overcoat [1686.5s] which is all over the place. [1688.3s] Puts his hat back on his head [1690.0s] that had fallen on the ground [1691.3s] and takes a big swig. [1693.0s] I make my way over to the till, [1695.0s] use the key, open it up [1697.5s] and I take half of what's in there, [1701.0s] whatever that may be. [1702.8s] Grab an envelope just in case he's looking, [1706.1s] slip it in there, write a note on the outside of it, [1709.7s] slip it into my traveling jacket pocket [1712.5s] and leave the key on the desk [1716.8s] and I look at him and say, [1720.2s] I'll be back by dinnertime, Terry. [1722.9s] I leave. [1723.7s] You hear just a grumble. [1725.2s] It's incoherent and nonsensical [1727.7s] as he yells and the door slams shut [1730.1s] and you take two gold and five silver. [1735.3s] Not bad haul, not a bad haul. [1739.2s] You make your way through the streets of Kingstown [1742.5s] which are bustling with people [1744.8s] and everybody's kind of shoulder to shoulder [1747.0s] bumping through this part of town [1749.8s] and you make your way towards the main city gates [1752.5s] which extends over a small stream. [1755.1s] The guards, they don't stop you. [1757.0s] There's lots of people coming and going. [1759.6s] There's shipments coming on a carriage [1761.6s] and many people heading out to do whatever jobs [1764.2s] or adventures they see themselves fit to do. [1768.1s] One of the guard catches your eye and gives you a nod. [1772.3s] You recognize him just for being around town [1775.1s] but don't really know him [1777.0s] and as you go over the stream [1779.4s] and up top of this large hill [1781.9s] that oversees the entire sprawling metropolis behind you, [1785.3s] there's big plumes of smoke [1787.7s] coming up from the larger industrial style buildings [1790.3s] and manufacturing plants. [1792.2s] You see the school which is framed high on a street [1796.7s] on top of a hill inside the city [1798.9s] with a large bricked wall around it [1801.7s] to keep the grounds contained. [1805.9s] You give one final look at the town behind you [1810.8s] and head out on the road towards Vintersmouth. [1814.5s] I give a sigh of contentment as I turn around [1819.4s] and jump in the air, do a heel click [1822.3s] and say, let's make some magic.
