[0.0s] previously on Dumbgeons and Dragons [60.0s] I grab him by the shoulder. Don't you miss the adventure, Shu? [64.0s] I do miss the adventure, Tully. And yes, it is a big sword, boot. [68.0s] Like I said, I know that you're risking... I don't want you to get in trouble or lose your job. [72.0s] No, I'm not worried about that. I can find another job in a heartbeat. [76.0s] Let's leave the way! [78.0s] We leave through the actual door. I assume exchanging looks of concern. [82.0s] And I whisper back, like, we'll take care of him. He'll be fine. Poor guy. [88.0s] He might be a good lookout. It'll be fine. [110.0s] Welcome to Dumbgeons and Dragons. I'm your Dungeon Master, Russ More. [114.0s] And with me today is Carla Maxted. [116.0s] That is me. I play Glim or do I play Slim? Both. Glim as Slim. [123.0s] And Amy More. [125.0s] That's me and I play Sully or is it Tully? [130.0s] Gonna find out. And last but not least, Tom Laird. [133.0s] And I play Boot. But usually Moot. [137.0s] Just the conversion is complete. Just Boot now. [141.0s] You know, be the change you want to see in the world. [143.0s] To really become one with the character. [145.0s] That's right. [147.0s] We need more boots in the world. [149.0s] Need more boot? [150.0s] This boot is made for walk-in. [152.0s] Ho! That's just what we're gonna do on this boat with our new friend ShoeLeftHand [159.0s] who is a NPC who has contributed to us by one of our patrons, John Creighton. [164.0s] Thank you, John. Thanks, John. [166.0s] When you are a patron at the in-world tier, you can suggest NPCs and items [173.0s] for our characters to run across and acquire. [178.0s] And we would love to have you over there. [180.0s] Patreon.com slash dumbdragoncast. [182.0s] When you are a patron, you also get an episode dedicated to you. [185.0s] Like today's patron, Deesa. [188.0s] Thanks, Deesa. [189.0s] Thank you, Deesa. [190.0s] Thank you. [192.0s] And now, after you go check that out, Patreon.com slash dumbdragoncast. [196.0s] Fuck it! Let's play D&D! [201.0s] You know, you're standing on the dock, looking up at the ship. [205.0s] You've had a moment to kind of survey the scene, [207.0s] see if you can see anybody walking to, fro, anywhere around. [211.0s] There are two gangplanks that you can walk up to from the dock. [215.0s] On the deck of the ship, you can see two or three people walking perimeters [220.0s] doing routine checks, from what you can tell. [224.0s] We see the four silhouetted figures standing, looking up at the golden dragon. [230.0s] How big is the ship? You said it was a big ship, but like... [234.0s] Yup. [236.0s] That is what I said. [238.0s] Like, when we're standing on the dock, we can see onto the deck, like... [242.0s] Yeah, how tall is the ship? [244.0s] So the gangplank goes up at, you know, like... [246.0s] It's quite tall. [247.0s] A 30-degree angle or... [249.0s] More like a 45. [251.0s] That'd be a very steep angle. [253.0s] It's quite steep. [254.0s] Yeah, maybe like 25, 30 degrees. [256.0s] This is not super duper tall. [258.0s] Not super tall. [259.0s] Tall enough, though. [260.0s] Like, it's long and wide. [263.0s] Not super tall. [265.0s] You can see port windows that lead you to believe that there is [269.0s] one lower deck that you can justify. [273.0s] And the two gangplanks are, like, equidistant along the body of the boat? [281.0s] Yup. [282.0s] Okay. [283.0s] So it's not like... [284.0s] There's not a front door and a back door. [286.0s] There's just two mid-deck gangplanks. [289.0s] Yes, exactly. [290.0s] As you're kind of surveying what you're looking at, Shu speaks up, [295.0s] and he's like, and they've got... [297.0s] There's, like, when they offload, there's a thing at the back there [305.0s] where the cargo comes out, like a big door. [310.0s] Like a chute? [311.0s] Well, no, like a door that opens and you can pull things out of. [317.0s] Like a garage? [318.0s] What's a garage? [319.0s] It's something where the door goes up and you can put things in it. [324.0s] Then, yeah, it's exactly like a garage. [326.0s] Okay, cool. [328.0s] Okay. [329.0s] I don't know where the open switch is, if it has a switch [333.0s] or if it's like a lever or if it's a... [336.0s] You just push it. [337.0s] Well, we'll see it on our tour, I guess, right? [339.0s] I guess you'll see it on your tour. [341.0s] All right, so where do you want me set up for... [344.0s] Well, if you were going to get on the ship for a tour, [347.0s] you've probably been on, like, a million boats, so... [350.0s] At least. [351.0s] Where do you think... [352.0s] Or would, like, the coolest stuff be? [355.0s] Well, what kind... [356.0s] I mean, whatever. [357.0s] Front door, back door, I don't know. [359.0s] Well, I mean, generally, there's ways to get in. [364.0s] The way this one looks like it's designed [366.0s] is maybe there's, like, a staircase up at the... [369.0s] up at the nose there. [371.0s] Maybe there's... [372.0s] That, like, goes down, like, [373.0s] so we can see all, like, the cool merch [375.0s] and stuff that there's... [376.0s] Well, it doesn't go up. [379.0s] You're a funny guy. [381.0s] Yeah. [382.0s] See, you're right. [385.0s] But, like, that's where they keep all the cool stuff. [387.0s] What kind of cool stuff are you looking for? [389.0s] Well, like... [390.0s] I don't know, just cool stuff. [391.0s] Just, like, boat stuff, ship things. [394.0s] Well, because you said they, like, [395.0s] all were, like, wizardy stuff and stuff. [397.0s] Like, I ain't never seen stuff like that before. [399.0s] You're looking for the... [400.0s] for the cargo. [402.0s] Oh, yeah. [403.0s] Yeah, the cool stuff. [404.0s] Oh, well, that's at the back. [405.0s] I said the... [406.0s] That's the cool stuff. [407.0s] Well, I mean, we're really easily entertained. [410.0s] So we could, like, start at the back [411.0s] and then move our way forward in our tour? [415.0s] Yeah, if you can get down there at the back. [418.0s] I don't know what kind of access points [420.0s] they have to get down below deck. [422.0s] Like I said, it looks like there's a staircase, [424.0s] judging where they keep coming up and down. [426.0s] There's a staircase there, [427.0s] but I don't see anybody disappear in midship. [430.0s] Doesn't mean there's not some sort of [432.0s] porthole or anything, but... [434.0s] A portal? [436.0s] Tully doesn't like portals. [438.0s] I really don't. [439.0s] No, a port, porthole. [441.0s] Oh, a hole on the port side. [443.0s] Oh, okay, porthole, not portal. [446.0s] Right, right, right, right. [447.0s] Okay, cool. [448.0s] What about... [449.0s] I mean, you're used to, like, being out here [452.0s] on the dock and looking casual [454.0s] and just, like, looking at your clipboard. [457.0s] Tully nonchAlydint and stuff. [459.0s] Kicking his feet. [460.0s] Being totally cool and chill and, like... [464.0s] Yeah, yeah. [465.0s] You know, like a dock specialist. [467.0s] So probably you don't really... [468.0s] You just need to stay, like, [469.0s] kind of in front of the boat. [470.0s] You don't need to be, like, [471.0s] in front of that specific gangplank [473.0s] where we're gonna go up, right? [474.0s] Sure. [475.0s] You just need to, like, look normal. [477.0s] Hey, are you an artist? [479.0s] Am I an artist? [481.0s] Like, pictures? [482.0s] Yeah. [484.0s] Paintings? [485.0s] No, more like sketches. [486.0s] Sure. [487.0s] Sketches, caricatures? [488.0s] Yeah. [489.0s] No. [490.0s] Well, I was just... [491.0s] Why was you thinking? [492.0s] Like, as you're out here, [495.0s] because it might just... [497.0s] I mean, no one's gonna say anything, [498.0s] because, I mean, it's you. [501.0s] But you could, like, have your clipboard out, [504.0s] piece of blank paper, [505.0s] maybe start drawing the boat. [507.0s] And who knows? [508.0s] Maybe you might find something, [510.0s] like, really fulfilling in that. [512.0s] Oh. [513.0s] Right? [514.0s] Then maybe I could trade somebody for it. [516.0s] Oh. [517.0s] Like, I could trade them the picture. [519.0s] For sure. [520.0s] Something. [521.0s] Yeah. [522.0s] Like, money. [523.0s] Yeah. [524.0s] Totally. [525.0s] But, I mean, that's also a good, [527.0s] like, undercover thing. [529.0s] What are you doing out here? [530.0s] Just sketching the boat. [531.0s] You awesome guy. [532.0s] Just sketching the ins and outs [534.0s] of this boat here. [535.0s] No, not the ins and outs. [536.0s] Just, like, the beautiful curvature [538.0s] of the lines of the boat. [539.0s] Right. [540.0s] And the sunset, [541.0s] the dusky sky at the back. [544.0s] Right? [545.0s] Right, yeah. [546.0s] Be an art... [547.0s] Shape. [548.0s] Yeah, like, artistic stuff. [549.0s] That's right. [550.0s] Shape. [551.0s] Be the artiologist. [552.0s] An artiologist. [553.0s] Yeah. [554.0s] Yeah. [555.0s] It's a new... [556.0s] I haven't heard of that job before. [557.0s] It sounds very... [558.0s] doc specialist. [559.0s] Totally. [560.0s] Artiologist. [561.0s] Artiologist. [562.0s] Doc specialist. [563.0s] Yeah, maybe you're a DSA now [565.0s] instead of just a DS. [566.0s] Dang. [567.0s] Getting a longer title [568.0s] out of this whole thing. [570.0s] Shoes... [571.0s] What did we call our group? [572.0s] Shoes Four? [573.0s] Shoes... [574.0s] Shoes Crew. [575.0s] Shoes Crew. [576.0s] Shoes Crew. [577.0s] Shoes Crew. [578.0s] Right. [579.0s] I forgot from when we walked [580.0s] over here. [581.0s] Yeah, well, it was kind of [582.0s] a long walk. [583.0s] Yeah. [584.0s] I'm still surprised [585.0s] you three aren't as [587.0s] drink as I am. [589.0s] Well, I do that whole thing [590.0s] where I have one [591.0s] and then I have [592.0s] a lot of water [593.0s] and then I have one [594.0s] and then I have [595.0s] a lot of water [596.0s] because I learned [597.0s] that if I throw up [598.0s] all over... [599.0s] all over Boots Boots [600.0s] over here, [601.0s] he gets kind of mad. [602.0s] He gets so mad. [603.0s] He's a real chill dude [604.0s] until you throw up [605.0s] all over him. [606.0s] He does seem chill. [607.0s] True. [608.0s] Chill dude. [609.0s] All right. [610.0s] Well, I try not to [611.0s] throw up on your Boots Boots. [612.0s] Boots. [613.0s] I mean, all I can do [614.0s] is ask that you try. [615.0s] I will try. [616.0s] All right. [617.0s] I'm going to... [618.0s] You got your pencil. [619.0s] He pulls out his clipboard. [620.0s] And so he starts [622.0s] looking at the ship [623.0s] but not looking at the ship [624.0s] and like sketching [625.0s] and looking over his shoulder. [627.0s] Man, you look so fucking natural. [629.0s] Thank you. [631.0s] I'm going to just [632.0s] try and blend in here. [636.0s] I mean, you don't have to [637.0s] try that hard. [638.0s] You belong here. [639.0s] Don't over-sell it. [640.0s] You work here. [642.0s] Hey, yeah, I work here. [643.0s] I work here. [644.0s] You don't need to yell though. [645.0s] That's all right. [646.0s] Because now you're just [647.0s] drawing attention to yourself. [648.0s] Okay, let's go you guys. [649.0s] Do we want to go [650.0s] all up one plank [651.0s] or should we [652.0s] go separately? [653.0s] I don't know. [654.0s] Maybe stay together. [655.0s] I don't know. [656.0s] I think we should stay together [657.0s] because it's a pretty big boat. [659.0s] And what if we go in the back [660.0s] and then we find like [661.0s] all the stuff right away [662.0s] and then one person's up there [664.0s] and... [665.0s] Fair enough. [666.0s] That'd be silly. [667.0s] Okay. [668.0s] Good point. [669.0s] Good idea, Slim. [670.0s] Let's go. [671.0s] We sneak up toward the back. [673.0s] We want to go [674.0s] up the plank. [675.0s] Yeah, near more [676.0s] where the cargo would be. [677.0s] Okay. [678.0s] You go up the plank [680.0s] more near the back of the ship. [682.0s] Everybody make a [685.0s] stealth roll. [690.0s] I mean, you've been watching this. [692.0s] Yeah, make a straight stealth roll. [694.0s] I mean, I assume we'll wait [695.0s] and we're like, [696.0s] if there's guards walking around, [698.0s] we wait until they're not [699.0s] standing right there. [700.0s] We've established that you've [702.0s] been watching the rotation. [703.0s] Well, we've been watching [705.0s] this boat since it docked. [707.0s] Yes. [708.0s] Also true. [710.0s] 20. [712.0s] 17. [713.0s] No, do I have a plus? [714.0s] I do not. [715.0s] 17. [716.0s] So that's a 16 for me. [717.0s] All right. [718.0s] You get up to the top [720.0s] of the plank [721.0s] and kind of peek your heads over. [724.0s] You watch and you see... [727.0s] You time it just so that [729.0s] you see one of the crew [732.0s] kind of walking down to the far end. [735.0s] And once you're up to the top, [737.0s] you see that there's a bit of a rise [739.0s] to another platform. [742.0s] Everybody make an investigation. [745.0s] Investigation. [746.0s] You're not going to be able to [747.0s] sit there for very long. [748.0s] Perception. [750.0s] That's a three. [752.0s] Perceptigation. [753.0s] That's a seven. [757.0s] Oh, that's a 19. [758.0s] Thank God. [759.0s] So the three of you get up [761.0s] and you're quickly surveying around. [763.0s] You see this rise that kind of [764.0s] is like right in front of where [766.0s] the plank comes onto the ship, [768.0s] about 10 feet over. [770.0s] Then there's a bit of a run down [772.0s] to where the wheel is [774.0s] and the mast in the center of the ship. [779.0s] I'm going to assume that you're going to run [781.0s] kind of over to there [782.0s] because that's where cover is. [784.0s] And as you're going over, [786.0s] you notice that there are two [788.0s] hidden doors, for lack of a better term, [791.0s] in the floor as you kind of [793.0s] as you're back up against where this [795.0s] where the steering wheel is. [796.0s] And you hear footsteps coming up [798.0s] from the front, [799.0s] walking back towards your position. [802.0s] Are we sheltered from where [804.0s] this person's walking? [805.0s] Like if we're, [806.0s] are they on the other side of it [807.0s] compared to where we are? [809.0s] Yes. [810.0s] So they're walking up the far side [812.0s] from where you were standing [813.0s] and coming aboard. [815.0s] But yeah, there's like a five foot rise. [817.0s] So you're all kind of hunched duck down. [820.0s] So no one can see you currently, [822.0s] but Moot, you see those two [824.0s] doors in the floor. [826.0s] I make like the shush motion [829.0s] and then I point at the doors in the floor [832.0s] and I kind of give like a [834.0s] shrug, like should we go for this? [837.0s] Mm hmm. [838.0s] And then I feel like we maybe like [839.0s] exchange glances and then like [841.0s] Nod. [842.0s] Thumbs up. [843.0s] Yeah. [844.0s] I point to [846.0s] glim [847.0s] and then I make strong muscle. [850.0s] Oh, right. [851.0s] Yep. [852.0s] Because you might be the one [853.0s] who would lift it. [854.0s] Okay. [855.0s] Because, you know, usually they're [858.0s] made of solid wood and are heavy, [860.0s] I would assume. [861.0s] Yeah, it's probably probably [862.0s] just dead lifting from the ground. [863.0s] It's probably heavy. [864.0s] Yeah. [865.0s] You do that in your sleep. [866.0s] That's right. [867.0s] And if it doesn't let go [868.0s] of your donkey, you can always [869.0s] blast it in the face. [871.0s] Always an option. [874.0s] Always an option. [875.0s] Let's light it on fire. [877.0s] Okay. [878.0s] Sorry. [879.0s] You're going for the doors. [880.0s] I say your stealth roles are [882.0s] were high enough that you can get. [884.0s] So you're going for the starboard [886.0s] or port side? [888.0s] I assume. [889.0s] I guess what I was picturing [890.0s] is we came up onto the port side [892.0s] of the boat. [893.0s] Is that? [894.0s] You came up on the starboard side. [895.0s] Starboard side. [896.0s] Usually right side of the boat docks. [899.0s] I'm learning so much. [901.0s] It's going to be very nautical [903.0s] because if you're looking at the [904.0s] front of the ship, it's the right side. [905.0s] So they're so they're [907.0s] equidistant from the current [908.0s] position where you are. [909.0s] You're kind of in the middle of [910.0s] the boat. [911.0s] Steering wheel behind you. [913.0s] Mast going up. [916.0s] Person walking is coming up the [918.0s] port side from the bow. [921.0s] So equidistant from you kind of [922.0s] between this rise that you saw [924.0s] and the steering wheel are the [926.0s] two doors in the floor. [928.0s] One on the port, one on the [929.0s] starboard. [930.0s] Well, if the person is on the [931.0s] port side, then I assume we're [932.0s] going to try and open the one [934.0s] on the starboard side, it seems [935.0s] like. [936.0s] You pop it open. [937.0s] It kind of creaks a little bit, [939.0s] but not much more than just the [941.0s] sound of the ship rocking against [944.0s] the dock. [946.0s] And it's a ladder that goes [948.0s] down to the deck below. [950.0s] You go down, followed by. [953.0s] I'll go second. [954.0s] OK, Moot goes second. [955.0s] Sully, make a stealth roll [956.0s] because you're up the longest. [957.0s] Oh, I'm glad I went second. [961.0s] Oh, it's a nat 20. [962.0s] You've got that good decks. [963.0s] 27. [964.0s] And as Moot's going down, you [966.0s] like practically are like right [967.0s] on top of him. [969.0s] Getting a shoulder ride down. [972.0s] But I've turned into a sheep [973.0s] again and he is riding me [975.0s] every time. [976.0s] But getting in right behind [977.0s] them, pulling the door closed [978.0s] and just as the door closed, [979.0s] the footsteps come up the [981.0s] side and you see a crewman [984.0s] looking to the side and then [985.0s] walking back down doing his [987.0s] patrol. [988.0s] You swiftly move down the [990.0s] ladder and come down into a [993.0s] hallway that moves bow to [997.0s] stern and there are several [1000.0s] door. [1001.0s] Yeah, several you can see in [1003.0s] some of them. [1004.0s] There are several open doors [1006.0s] that look like they are just [1007.0s] cots sleeping quarters that [1010.0s] extend at least on the [1011.0s] starboard side that you are [1012.0s] on from your location. [1014.0s] This hallway goes and it [1015.0s] kind of looks like a dead [1017.0s] end that at least turns [1020.0s] towards the bow and then [1022.0s] a more open area that extends [1025.0s] to the back. [1026.0s] I mean, we could have maybe [1028.0s] like popped into the hall, [1030.0s] saw that it all looked like [1031.0s] sleeping quarters and then [1032.0s] kept going because we know [1033.0s] we're looking for like a [1034.0s] cargo hold, right? [1035.0s] I agree. [1036.0s] So yeah, you check out this [1038.0s] deck and then you keep going [1040.0s] down the ladder. [1042.0s] Everybody make a perception [1044.0s] check as you're going down. [1046.0s] I'm not very perceptive. [1049.0s] Four. [1050.0s] Fourteen. [1053.0s] Oh, it's a 17. [1054.0s] It should be all right [1055.0s] regardless of bonus. [1056.0s] OK, Glim, you're still first [1057.0s] going down. [1058.0s] I think so. [1059.0s] You're quickly but cautiously [1062.0s] going down the ladder [1064.0s] further down into the cargo. [1065.0s] What you can see now as the [1067.0s] cargo deck. [1069.0s] As you step down, you feel [1071.0s] kind of a pressure on your [1073.0s] foot and you stop before you [1075.0s] step completely and you lift [1077.0s] it. [1078.0s] And there is a trip wire on [1079.0s] the last rung of the ladder. [1083.0s] Guys, bottom step. [1087.0s] Don't step on the bottom step, [1089.0s] OK? [1090.0s] What did she say? [1091.0s] No bottom step. [1092.0s] No bottom step. [1093.0s] You want my bottom out of [1094.0s] your face? [1095.0s] What? [1096.0s] No, no. [1097.0s] I mean, yes, but no, the [1098.0s] bottom step is don't step [1100.0s] on it. [1101.0s] OK. [1102.0s] And I get off the ladder so [1104.0s] my friends can continue down. [1108.0s] You step off. [1109.0s] And as everybody steps down [1111.0s] and begins to survey the [1113.0s] scene that they are in, it [1115.0s] is the area you come down [1117.0s] into is wide open. [1120.0s] Further back, there are [1121.0s] crates. [1123.0s] And even further back than [1124.0s] that, you see cages and [1126.0s] like slatted boxes that you [1129.0s] can see scrolls or rolled [1132.0s] up and rolled up maps. [1135.0s] You see different crates [1137.0s] filled with grains, casks of [1140.0s] wine, stacks of lumber [1143.0s] further back into the cargo [1145.0s] area. [1148.0s] If you begin walking [1149.0s] around. [1150.0s] I say cautiously. [1152.0s] So I guess basically it's all [1154.0s] just like an open, big [1156.0s] storage room. [1157.0s] Yes. [1158.0s] I want to look for traps [1160.0s] as I walk around. [1161.0s] Just to be safe. [1164.0s] Are you investigating for [1166.0s] traps? [1167.0s] Sure. [1168.0s] Yeah. [1169.0s] As I'm looking at box [1172.0s] tops. [1176.0s] The 14. [1177.0s] The 14. [1178.0s] The 14. [1179.0s] 14 starts with a D. [1181.0s] You're looking around all at [1182.0s] the boxes. [1183.0s] You don't find any traps [1185.0s] beyond the one that Glim [1187.0s] notified you of. [1188.0s] Do you do anything with that [1189.0s] trap or do you leave it as [1191.0s] is? [1192.0s] I think we probably just [1193.0s] leave it as is now that we [1194.0s] know that it's there. [1195.0s] Can we tell what kind of trap [1198.0s] it is? [1199.0s] Is it attached to like [1202.0s] there are going to be bolts [1204.0s] that shoot out at us or is it [1206.0s] fire? [1207.0s] Does it look like it would be [1208.0s] like unleash a canister of [1209.0s] poison? [1210.0s] Just in case we trip into it [1212.0s] because who knows because [1214.0s] it's us. [1215.0s] It's true. [1216.0s] I want to know what's [1217.0s] coming our way. [1218.0s] We could just trip. [1219.0s] We could literally trip the [1220.0s] trip wire. [1221.0s] Yeah. [1222.0s] You follow the trip wire and [1223.0s] it leads back to a mechanism [1224.0s] that is often to the wall [1227.0s] behind where the ladder stops [1229.0s] down and it looks like it has [1232.0s] a mechanism that when [1234.0s] released you find that [1237.0s] blades come out of a plank [1240.0s] and it looks like it would [1241.0s] line up with your shins. [1244.0s] Ouch. [1246.0s] Talk about a bad day, [1248.0s] right? [1249.0s] I can't afford to be any [1250.0s] shorter. [1251.0s] I don't want to die. [1253.0s] That's crotch height for me, [1255.0s] you guys. [1256.0s] That's no good. [1262.0s] Okay. [1263.0s] So we need. [1264.0s] Okay. [1265.0s] So we're looking for a [1266.0s] circlet, [1269.0s] six alchemical jugs with a [1272.0s] Steinadegon on it and then [1276.0s] some herbs. [1278.0s] Yeah. [1279.0s] Okay. [1281.0s] So it's probably not any of [1283.0s] the big ones with grain. [1285.0s] At least let's not start [1286.0s] there and probably not like [1290.0s] in a cage, [1291.0s] although I'm a bit nervous [1292.0s] about what's in those. [1294.0s] Probably in like some [1296.0s] crates maybe. [1298.0s] Yeah. [1299.0s] Like it's going to be like [1300.0s] boxes inside a box, [1301.0s] right? [1302.0s] Okay. [1303.0s] Yeah. [1304.0s] Are they labeled? [1305.0s] Can I look at some crates [1306.0s] and see if they're labeled? [1308.0s] Because that would make it [1309.0s] very easy. [1310.0s] It would make it easy. [1311.0s] For the love of God. [1312.0s] And for them as well. [1313.0s] Yeah. [1314.0s] No, I didn't mean for us, [1315.0s] like for sure for us, [1316.0s] but I mean unloading them [1318.0s] if they had to crack the top off. [1320.0s] Send them to different places. [1321.0s] Exactly. [1322.0s] They are labeled. [1323.0s] They are labeled with [1324.0s] merchant names. [1327.0s] That also makes sense. [1329.0s] Oh, right. [1330.0s] Right? [1331.0s] Like where they're going. [1333.0s] And as you're kind of [1334.0s] looking and moving, [1336.0s] cautiously moving about [1338.0s] the cargo hold, [1339.0s] you hear a noise [1341.0s] coming from back [1342.0s] and towards the cages. [1343.0s] It's like a low, [1344.0s] like brrrrrrr. [1348.0s] Mm-mm. [1350.0s] Nope. [1351.0s] What do you, [1352.0s] what do you think that is? [1353.0s] I think it's a cage. [1354.0s] Do you think that's someone [1355.0s] who works here, [1356.0s] or it's a wild animal [1357.0s] in a cage? [1358.0s] Yeah, I think it's a cage [1359.0s] full of nope. [1360.0s] If it's someone who works here, [1361.0s] I think they're sleeping [1362.0s] one off. [1363.0s] Yeah. [1365.0s] Um, okay. [1366.0s] Okay. [1367.0s] So these are only labeled [1368.0s] with people's names, [1370.0s] and I guess one person [1372.0s] could probably have a [1373.0s] random assortment of orders [1376.0s] inside the crate. [1378.0s] So maybe we should start [1379.0s] just opening some of these up [1381.0s] and seeing what's inside. [1384.0s] I guess. [1385.0s] I don't know what else to do. [1387.0s] I think we just have to [1388.0s] get our hands dirty [1389.0s] with this one. [1390.0s] I take out one of my daggers, [1392.0s] and I carefully try to open up [1395.0s] a crate nearest me. [1398.0s] You're trying to open it [1399.0s] so that it doesn't either break [1401.0s] or make a noise. [1402.0s] Yeah. [1403.0s] Sleight of hands. [1404.0s] Sleight of hand. [1405.0s] Yep. [1406.0s] Nineteen. [1407.0s] Yeah, you nimbly pop the lid [1409.0s] on this first crate, [1411.0s] and inside of it, [1412.0s] you see clay jugs from the top. [1417.0s] Oh, I carefully lift one out [1420.0s] to see if it has a sign [1421.0s] or a symbol on it. [1423.0s] Yeah, this scraping, [1424.0s] sliding sound of clay against clay. [1427.0s] I like that sound. [1428.0s] Which makes that... [1429.0s] So everyone knows. [1430.0s] Which makes that noise [1431.0s] that you heard at the back [1432.0s] go again like that... [1437.0s] Oh, Jesus. [1438.0s] It's chicken. [1440.0s] Is it chicken? [1441.0s] What's happening? [1442.0s] And you lift it, [1443.0s] and you cross-check the list [1447.0s] that Charmy gave you. [1449.0s] And the sign of Dagen [1451.0s] Again, looks like two rotund hills. [1456.1s] Boobies. [1457.0s] With interned peaks. [1460.5s] Nipples. [1462.7s] Floating on three waves. [1466.6s] And that's what you see on the jugs. [1468.3s] Oh, guys, take a look at my jugs. [1472.7s] Those are some good jugs. [1474.1s] I found the jugs. [1475.2s] Are those what we're looking for? [1476.4s] Yes. [1478.2s] Is there six of them there? [1479.9s] Yes, there are. [1484.0s] How big are the jugs? [1486.4s] Are they like small, like, oh my God. [1489.0s] Microphone. [1489.8s] We can be able to carry these out of here. [1490.7s] Are they like maple syrup jugs? [1492.5s] No, they're larger jugs. [1494.7s] Son of a bitch. [1495.8s] Like gallon jugs. [1497.4s] Was I given a bag of holding from her by any chance? [1501.1s] That cunt. [1507.2s] Maybe we should just put all the stuff [1508.8s] that we find over by the bottom of the stairs. [1512.0s] I assume the jugs have something in them. [1514.8s] Oh, I thought maybe they were in sloshing. [1516.9s] I also thought they were empty. [1517.7s] I thought like maybe this was a vessel used [1520.2s] for magic shit. [1522.2s] No, they're, they appear to be filled with liquid. [1524.4s] Oh great, so they're heavy. [1525.7s] Okay, all right. [1527.2s] Maybe we should put the stuff we find [1528.9s] over by where we want to go [1530.4s] and then we'll collect it all. [1531.6s] And then when we need to go, we can take it all. [1535.2s] That's a great idea. [1536.8s] I look around. [1537.8s] Do I see a burlap sack or three anywhere? [1540.8s] Odds you do, evens you don't. [1543.4s] Yes. [1544.2s] You do. [1545.3s] Hey guys, look, there's some burlap bags over here. [1548.6s] Okay, I'll put two in one, two in the other, [1551.1s] two in the other. [1552.1s] And you're right, let's put these to the side [1554.3s] and just keep filling our bags. [1556.0s] And that way one person doesn't have to carry [1557.9s] six of these jugs, they're heavy. [1560.7s] Okay, I'm going to attempt to open [1562.6s] the case that's nearest me to see what's inside. [1565.9s] Okay. [1567.2s] Is it a case that's nearest you? [1568.4s] I guess I'll do the sully method [1570.0s] and also go with a dagger. [1571.4s] Sure, go sleight of hand. [1574.4s] Okay. [1575.3s] Worked for me. [1577.3s] That is a seven, but Russ, I'm gonna reroll that [1582.8s] with one of my traits, which is tides of chaos. [1587.4s] Once per long rest, you gain an advantage [1589.7s] on one attack roll, ability check, or saving throw. [1592.2s] Before you regain use of this feature, [1594.2s] the DM can have you roll on the wild magic [1596.4s] certain table after you cast a first level or higher spell. [1600.4s] So basically, if you cast a spell at this point, [1602.7s] I can just have you roll. [1604.7s] For wild magic. [1605.6s] First level or higher, I can cast cantrips. [1609.2s] I mean, we did that anyways. [1610.6s] I don't see how that. [1611.6s] Yeah, but I mean, now it's like, [1614.4s] it's implied that it will happen [1616.6s] regardless of my next spell. [1617.8s] It triggers, I see, got it. [1619.2s] Well, I have to roll, so like. [1621.0s] But you roll, no, you're rolling [1622.3s] on the wild magic table, though. [1625.0s] Yes. [1625.9s] I think it happens. [1626.7s] So I guess if you make a first level spell or higher. [1630.2s] You have to take your wild magic wildest. [1632.0s] You gotta take a wild magic surge. [1634.0s] That's exciting. [1634.8s] This reroll better be worth it, y'all. [1637.0s] Is it? [1637.8s] Oh, it's a nat 20. [1638.7s] Oh, fuck yeah. [1639.5s] You're sneaky as shit. [1641.3s] Okay, yeah, you take a dagger [1643.9s] and creak open one of these crates, [1647.2s] hearing another noise from the back. [1649.8s] Rr, rr, rr, rr, rr. [1652.4s] I'm guessing frog chicken. [1653.7s] The name on the crate is Flows. [1658.1s] And it's just a bunch of tampons. [1660.5s] No, and inside you see a bunch of burlap bags, [1664.1s] like smaller bags, and inside of them [1667.9s] you can kind of feel herbs or leaves [1671.4s] or that sort of thing, and they are not labeled. [1677.3s] Will I know what they are by smell? [1679.8s] Make a nature chat. [1681.8s] Or maybe like a visual. [1684.1s] Yeah, gonna need a nature check [1685.3s] for anybody trying to determine herbs. [1687.5s] Make a smell-o-gram check. [1691.0s] Okay, I just rolled another nat 20. [1692.6s] What the hell? You know all the herbs. [1695.7s] No, this is what he does, don't you remember? [1699.3s] All the 20s are for him. [1700.6s] Yep, okay, yeah. [1702.7s] But like, yay, smelling things real well. [1704.6s] Yeah, your nose is so. [1706.9s] Describe to me why moot knows so much about these herbs [1710.1s] and how you go about determining [1711.9s] which ones are the Dream Flake, [1714.6s] what else did I write down? [1715.4s] Sitara, goji leaves, and sticks root. [1717.4s] I also had Sun Drop written down here, [1718.9s] which was in the original one, [1720.0s] but still, that doesn't really matter at this point. [1722.6s] Okay, question, Russ, are they all different [1724.6s] or are they all the same? [1728.0s] Of the ones you're going through, [1729.3s] there are several different ones. [1731.7s] Like it's a big crate filled with these bags. [1734.5s] Little satchel, sachets. [1736.1s] Yep. [1737.3s] Okay. [1738.8s] Well, back at home, old man Barclay [1742.7s] would often have me and my siblings [1744.6s] go out and gather him supplies [1747.3s] for the gin and various other alcohols [1749.5s] he would make with his homemade still. [1752.2s] So moot's pretty familiar with a lot of these [1755.0s] included in that sticks root, goji leaves, and Sun Drop. [1760.7s] So he knows those three real well [1762.5s] and can probably fake the other two if need be. [1764.9s] Okay, yeah, you're going through this [1766.3s] and you manage to pick out the goji leaves, [1768.2s] the sticks root, and the Sun Drop you're confident on. [1771.3s] You don't find, however, the dream flake in any of this. [1774.7s] You're not confident on any of them, [1777.2s] the ones you can't, [1779.5s] and you're not even sure that it's even in there. [1782.7s] Okay, so so far Sully has popped a crate stealthily [1791.3s] and found the six alchemical jugs. [1793.6s] It appears moot has found all but one [1795.9s] of these specific herbs requested. [1798.0s] Oh, and we close up our crates after. [1800.1s] We're not just gonna leave this place like ransacked. [1803.8s] We're not animals. [1806.7s] Yeah, so when they. We're just thieves. [1808.0s] They won't even notice until it like, you know, [1810.3s] in a month the customer's gonna be like, [1812.7s] you missed my dream flake in my shipment. [1816.7s] You know. And they'll just be like, damn. [1819.9s] So walking around their glim, [1822.7s] you see several similar sized crates [1825.9s] to the ones that have already been opened. [1826.9s] They're larger. [1828.4s] I don't know, three or four feet by three or four feet. [1832.5s] The further back you go just before you get [1834.8s] to those crates or to the cages, [1837.6s] you see smaller crates kind of tucked back in [1840.9s] and past those crates and some underneath them. [1844.1s] Okay, well maybe I will open one of those smaller ones. [1847.5s] I feel like the circlet's like it's jewelry [1852.5s] maybe wouldn't be, you know, in a huge crate full of jewelry. [1856.3s] It's a small, small volume. [1858.7s] Well you need to take care with those, so. [1860.9s] Exactly, and they're more precious, I would assume. [1864.1s] So yeah, I assume it's just like random names [1868.7s] on all the things. [1869.7s] It doesn't say like Jim and Sons Jewelers. [1873.6s] Oh, it might, wouldn't it? [1875.7s] It might. It might. [1876.9s] It does say business names. [1878.3s] It does say merchant names. [1879.7s] Yeah, sure, let's make a roll [1881.7s] and see if there's something that stands out. [1883.4s] Car luck, great idea. [1884.6s] Okay, um. [1886.0s] Maybe. [1887.2s] Perception, investigation. [1889.3s] Probably an investigation, or yeah, sure. [1892.4s] Oh, I rolled a 20. [1894.0s] No, you didn't. [1895.3s] Yes. [1896.6s] Okay, keep the train going. [1898.9s] Oh, don't put that kind of pressure on me. [1901.2s] Oh my God. [1903.4s] It's our best rolls that we've ever had. [1904.8s] So good, we're investigating and finding herbs [1907.2s] like nobody's business. [1908.5s] So a couple things happen here. [1910.3s] So you're walking back and you're getting to those cages [1912.5s] and as you look into the cages, you see, [1916.5s] it's almost like a triangular creature [1919.2s] with leathery, like leathery, [1923.1s] what you could call wings that kind of come to a peak [1926.8s] and there's this wrinkled skin blob [1931.5s] and like two clawed legs [1933.4s] that kind of come out from underneath it. [1935.1s] You can't tell if it's. [1936.7s] Is it a chicken frog? [1938.4s] No. [1939.8s] Are you sure? [1940.7s] Sounds like a giant bat. [1942.9s] It's not a chicken frog. [1945.0s] Well, I'm a chicken lady. [1946.9s] It, you can't tell if it's like awake or not there. [1948.9s] You have heard like noises coming from the back, [1951.8s] just like low burp, burp, burp, burp, burp. [1954.1s] That kind of noise. [1955.0s] Yep. [1956.7s] And as you move by it, [1958.5s] you do see a sign that says Sandy's jewelry. [1964.3s] Okay, I'm going to open that box. [1968.3s] Okay, it is beneath a few. [1970.8s] You move them aside and open this box [1973.8s] and there are several things inside of it, [1976.4s] kind of neatly kind of wrapped around. [1979.6s] There are some diamonds and pearls. [1983.4s] There are rings. [1984.3s] And then also you see kind of tucked down [1986.7s] at the bottom is a circlet, [1989.9s] is a circlet with interesting writing on it. [1995.2s] You've read a lot of books, probably no Infernal, [1998.2s] or not no Infernal, [1999.1s] but have seen some sort of writing of it maybe. [2003.5s] Like you'd be able to recognize the language of Mordor. [2005.9s] Right? [2006.7s] Right. [2007.5s] Anyways, you see this interesting writing [2011.5s] in green and red and it looks like the description [2015.1s] at the very least that Charmy gave for this circlet. [2018.9s] Okay, I am going to, [2022.9s] I wanna take it, [2023.9s] but I'm like nervous about just grabbing [2026.1s] what must clearly be some kind of magical item. [2031.5s] I guess the sacks are all over there. [2033.7s] I'm gonna just like pull my sleeve down over my hand [2037.9s] to like pick it up with that [2041.3s] rather than just grabbing it with my bare hand. [2044.5s] Make a sleight of hand check to try and pull it out [2046.9s] without making everything else kind of tumble out [2049.6s] with your sleeve wrapped around your large hand. [2052.7s] Not a great skill of mine. [2055.5s] So that's a 10. [2058.3s] Some of the things fall to the floor. [2061.3s] Some of the other rings and necklaces [2063.2s] as you pull out this circlet, [2064.6s] which was tucked kind of down at the bottom. [2067.2s] And the animal in the cage startles. [2072.7s] And it's like, [2074.5s] and it starts to like flap these wings [2078.3s] and you see it kind of lifts up on its legs [2082.4s] and you see these gnarled sharp teeth visible [2087.0s] from beneath like the wrinkled folds of this skin. [2091.2s] And it starts to like throw itself against the cage. [2095.5s] Okay, I reach into my pocket and pull out a dried apple [2098.9s] that I kept from our Apple Adventures [2102.8s] just the day before and I roll it over to the cage. [2107.3s] The apple rolls up and inside [2109.7s] and this creature that's like beating itself [2111.8s] against the sides or banging itself against the sides [2114.7s] sees it, stops and it's kind of slowly rolls down [2119.4s] in front of it and it kind of pokes at it [2123.2s] a couple of times and then its mouth opens wide [2127.6s] and it chomps down on the apple, [2129.8s] shredding it into pieces. [2132.9s] And then kind of settles back down. [2137.0s] Shh. [2139.1s] Okay, I'm going to, I guess like put the circlet [2144.4s] in my pocket and then like quickly, [2147.3s] not with my hands covered, [2148.9s] like just pick up the other things, [2150.8s] close the lid and put it and then like go back, [2155.1s] back away, put the circlet with the other things [2157.8s] we've collected and tell my friends that I found it [2160.8s] so they don't continue looking for it. [2163.3s] As you're backing away and you get back [2165.0s] with your group there, you hear footsteps [2168.0s] from above walking back towards your direction, [2172.2s] like the direction of the ladders [2173.4s] down to the cargo hold. [2174.7s] Mm-hmm. [2175.6s] Hey, we're in the middle and it's very nice [2188.3s] to have you here. [2189.2s] That's really what I want to stop and say. [2192.2s] Welcome to the Creamy Center of our Ooey Gooey podcast. [2198.5s] Just going to let that linger. [2199.4s] Yep. [2200.2s] It was quite visceral. [2201.0s] It's ooey and gooey. [2201.9s] Just going to feel it, yeah. [2202.7s] Like an Oreo. [2205.1s] I mean. [2205.9s] Like the middle of a s'more? [2206.7s] An Oreo is an ooey and, okay. [2207.6s] Okay, yeah. [2208.4s] I was thinking like, [2209.2s] that's still crispy on the outside. [2210.1s] Cadbury cream egg. [2210.9s] But like the marshmallow part. [2211.8s] Yeah, but I'm talking about the inside. [2212.6s] And the chocolate, that's all ooey gooey. [2213.8s] We're like the marshmallow and chocolate [2215.7s] in the inside of a s'more. [2217.6s] More like one of those, like the marshmallow cookies [2221.4s] with the chocolate over them. [2222.7s] The Viva. [2223.5s] Oh, the Viva puffs. [2224.4s] Like the Viva puffs. [2225.2s] Yeah, mm-hmm. [2226.0s] I bet that's, is that a Canadian thing? [2227.5s] Doesn't most people don't know what we're talking about? [2230.1s] Yeah, there's jam in the middle of those [2231.6s] or sometimes caramel. [2232.8s] Sometimes chocolate. [2233.8s] Life hack, if you leave them in the fridge, [2235.6s] they're 10 times better. [2237.1s] Do they still exist? [2238.5s] They do. Yeah, they do. [2239.3s] I only remember them from when I was a child. [2241.2s] Yes, I think I remember eating one as an adult [2245.0s] in my 20s and being like, [2246.4s] why was I so obsessed with these? [2247.7s] We've purchased them this year. [2249.4s] What? [2250.7s] I have, okay, listen up here, folks. [2252.7s] This is nothing to do with the podcast, [2254.2s] but I just wanna say so that many people get to hear it. [2257.3s] We have some of the best snacks ever in our house. [2260.9s] I only get to hear about them [2262.4s] approximately 20% of the time. [2266.7s] There's been times that things have been bought [2269.8s] and eaten or I've bought awesome snacks [2273.0s] and been like, yeah, [2274.6s] when I get a craving for this a week from now, [2277.2s] I'm gonna be so excited to have this [2278.9s] because I don't want it at the time. [2280.3s] No, you can't wait that long, Amy. [2281.4s] Apparently not. [2282.3s] Generally, it's gone within two to three days. [2285.8s] I go for it. [2286.6s] A week later, there's nothing there. [2289.2s] Well, your first problem is you didn't eat it [2291.0s] immediately so that it was then replaced [2293.9s] at the next grocery shop. [2295.3s] I do not feel like I'm the kind of person [2298.2s] who now buys food and then immediately [2301.5s] has to scarf it down. [2303.5s] I have chocolate in the freezer [2304.7s] that's been there for months. [2306.7s] That's because you've said, don't touch my chocolate. [2309.9s] Amy's gonna be the person you see in the grocery store [2311.9s] that's eating their bag of chips while they're shopping [2315.2s] and then it's like, oh yeah, this too. [2316.5s] Can't do that now, face masks, man. [2318.4s] I'm sneaking chips down into my mask. [2321.1s] It's a salty mess. [2322.2s] It's just bad. [2323.8s] Anyways. [2325.2s] Anyways, the middle. [2326.5s] The middle. [2327.6s] Yeah, we're here. [2328.6s] Really what we wanted to talk to you about [2330.2s] was coming and joining us over on Patreon [2331.9s] because we have set a whole bunch of really awesome goals [2335.0s] that we are hoping to achieve with your help. [2339.3s] So we'd like you to come join us, [2340.4s] Patreon.com slash dumb dragon cast. [2342.1s] Our next goal is so that we can hang out [2344.7s] with all of our patrons in this summer of summers [2347.8s] and play some sweet Jackbox games. [2350.5s] That's right. [2351.3s] We stream them Jackbox games. [2353.8s] We all grab our sodas. [2357.1s] That's what people in the US call pops [2359.4s] and our beers and our snacks. [2362.0s] And we gather around with our cell phones. [2366.3s] And we have some fun times and laughs. [2368.4s] A lot of laughs. [2369.2s] And sometimes we rap. [2370.7s] Sometimes there's rapping. [2372.1s] Sometimes there's murder. [2373.2s] Our listeners are hilarious. [2374.1s] It's very fun. [2374.9s] Yes. [2375.8s] You guys are much funnier than us, by the way. [2377.8s] Yes. [2378.6s] This is where we just, mine for content is what we do. [2382.2s] I mean, no, it's for hanging out sole purpose [2384.7s] is not a business meeting at all. [2386.5s] Not at all. [2387.6s] Anyways, we have that goal set up [2389.5s] at Patreon.com slash dumb dragon cast. [2390.9s] We'd love you to come join us. [2392.5s] Check out all the tiers. [2393.4s] Find out if there's a place for you. [2395.2s] And if there's not, we totally understand [2397.0s] if you can't afford it. [2398.1s] It's a crazy time right now. [2400.5s] But if you can, we would love to have you over there [2403.8s] being part of the sweet Patreon Dumbgeons crowd. [2408.1s] And now I think that's all. [2411.4s] Time to get you back to that graham cracker. [2413.5s] That's right. [2414.4s] Have a great week. [2415.2s] We'll talk to you soon. [2416.0s] So if anybody's keeping track, we've [2421.0s] found the circlet, the six alchemical jugs, [2423.3s] and all but one of the designated herbs. [2426.2s] How about that dang dream flake? [2427.9s] Damn dream flake. [2429.0s] We found this satara. [2431.5s] Yep. [2432.0s] Nice. [2434.5s] OK. [2435.6s] Do you guys know what dream flake looks like? [2439.6s] We got to find it. [2440.5s] Do you hear those footsteps? [2441.6s] And also, there's a really scary creature back there. [2446.1s] I don't really know what dream flake looks like. [2448.3s] I don't know what dream flake is either. [2451.0s] I guess something flaky, like maybe like coconut? [2454.7s] Like dried coconut? [2455.9s] Maybe. [2460.0s] OK, well. [2461.2s] If there's coconut, should we just grab that and try [2463.2s] to pass it off as dream flake? [2464.6s] Well, I mean, it's her own damn fault [2466.4s] she didn't give a description with any of these things. [2469.8s] Should not see how clearly incompetent we are. [2474.8s] I stop and listen to the boots. [2476.6s] Do they pass over top of us and keep going? [2478.9s] Or did they stop? [2480.0s] You've heard them walking back down the hall. [2482.2s] They haven't come directly to the ladder, [2484.3s] but they've kind of turned off [2487.2s] and are adjacent to where the ladder is, [2490.8s] that you hear them stop or kind of scuffle around. [2494.2s] We can't be quiet. [2495.1s] And whatever that was making noise in the back, [2497.5s] we have to not upset it anymore. [2500.8s] I gave it an apple and it just destroyed it. [2503.3s] Oh, God. [2505.6s] I guess we need to find this dream flake, though. [2507.7s] OK, I'm going to try this box over here. [2515.0s] If everybody's just trying boxes, [2517.1s] everybody roll an investigation, [2520.1s] one more investigation check. [2523.0s] I rolled a 20 again. [2526.8s] I rolled a 19. [2528.0s] We're on fire tonight. [2531.0s] This never happens in a battle. [2532.5s] We're just opening boxes in a cargo hold. [2535.0s] 20, 20, 20, 20. [2537.3s] You said investigation, Russ? [2540.5s] All right, 17 for me. [2542.5s] OK, fuck. [2545.2s] OK, Glenn, you remember from looking at the animal [2552.9s] or the creature that you fed the apple to near its cage [2559.0s] in a smaller crate. [2561.4s] There was a crate labeled hallucinogens. [2565.9s] Guys, I just had a thought. [2568.0s] You know that scary creature? [2569.9s] Yeah. [2570.8s] Well, back by the scary creature, [2572.9s] there was a box that said hallucinogens. [2575.6s] And dream flake seems like, I mean, dreams are kind of, [2579.3s] you know, like sleeping hallucinations. [2581.8s] I don't know. [2582.5s] Maybe this seems crazy. [2583.7s] But I just don't know where else to look. [2585.4s] No, Glenn, I think that's a great connection. [2587.2s] I think you're onto something. [2588.3s] There's a lot of drugs that can make [2589.9s] you see a lot of weird shit, like in a dream. [2593.1s] Was it in a big box or a small box? [2596.0s] It's kind of all smaller boxes back there. [2598.4s] Here's the thing. [2599.2s] When I was back near that creature, [2602.2s] kind of like got restless. [2604.4s] Right. [2605.2s] Gave it the apple, shredded the apple, [2608.1s] worked for like a minute, and then I left. [2610.6s] So what do you guys got? [2612.0s] Well, like, I've got this, like, [2615.1s] I got a little bit of dried fruit, sure. [2617.6s] Got some dates here. [2619.8s] But I was thinking. [2620.8s] I kept a jalapeno popper from when we were at Lucy's. [2623.6s] I don't know if that's. [2625.6s] There's cream cheese in that, man. [2628.0s] Is that just in your pocket? [2631.0s] Yeah. [2631.4s] I mean, you should definitely give that to me. [2633.4s] Because I don't think you should eat that. [2635.2s] But maybe we can give it to the creature. [2637.0s] Maybe. [2637.5s] Well, I think maybe if we sneak over there [2640.4s] and if it's a smaller crate, we can just gently pick up [2644.0s] the crate, move it back here before we open it in order [2648.2s] to do less noise. [2650.6s] Yes. [2651.1s] OK. [2651.8s] Yes, that's a great idea. [2653.0s] Don't eat that. [2655.3s] Maybe give me that. [2656.6s] I'll throw that to it. [2658.3s] I'll pick up the crate and I'll bring it back. [2660.4s] Only throw it to it, though, if it gets upset. [2662.6s] Because if you're sneaky, maybe it'll be OK. [2664.5s] I'm not just going to throw. [2665.8s] Yeah, yeah, yeah. [2666.8s] I'm going to just sneak. [2668.7s] All right. [2669.2s] I hand the napkin containing the jalapeno popper. [2673.3s] Thought it was just loose in your pocket. [2676.6s] I also thought it was just loose in his pocket. [2679.3s] No, no, no. [2680.3s] In a napkin. [2680.8s] I'm not an animal. [2681.6s] It's a jalapeno popper wrapped in a napkin in my pocket. [2684.8s] That's right. [2685.4s] Definitely has somehow had a bit of shape. [2689.2s] Oh, my tots. [2690.2s] My tots. [2692.2s] Get your own tots. [2693.9s] OK. [2695.2s] OK, so sorry. [2697.0s] Give me the quick Coles Notes version. [2699.4s] So I'm going to sneak over there. [2701.6s] If it wakes up, I'm going to toss it a jalapeno popper. [2705.2s] That I stole from Lucy's. [2706.3s] You didn't steal it. [2707.5s] It was your leftovers, I assume. [2709.8s] Maybe we didn't order those who took it off a different table. [2712.6s] No, he definitely took it off an empty plate. [2715.6s] Yeah, on our way out, I just scooped it off a table. [2717.8s] This is for later. [2719.8s] And then I'm going to pick up the box that says hallucinogens [2722.7s] and bring it back further away from the creature [2725.5s] rather than trying to open it. [2727.3s] Right beside the scary creature. [2728.7s] Perfect. [2729.2s] OK, to walk over there, give me, [2731.6s] and to try and not wake it up, give me a stealth roll. [2734.0s] OK. [2735.0s] OK. [2737.6s] It was really good? [2738.4s] That's the face you make when it's really good? [2740.6s] It was super good. [2741.4s] That was the face I make when it's amazing. [2743.2s] Should I have gone because it was a stealthy thing? [2745.9s] But then we have to pick up the box. [2747.4s] I don't know how big the box is. [2749.6s] That's an eight. [2751.7s] As you walk over, you kind of trip a little bit [2754.9s] on an upraised plank and stumble. [2758.8s] And the creature looks back up at you [2762.4s] and you see its teeth, and its tongue is long and slithery, [2767.6s] and it sticks out towards you, and it starts [2771.8s] to shake its leathery wings. [2774.4s] Put the popper on it. [2775.8s] Put the popper on the tongue. [2778.1s] And I underhand toss the jalapeno popper towards it. [2783.4s] It goes in and it snatches it out of the air, [2786.4s] just shredding it. [2787.4s] There's cream cheese everywhere. [2791.8s] The deckhands are going to have questions later. [2793.7s] This lactose intolerant monster is going to have a bad time. [2798.4s] So when it grabs it, then I quickly love it [2803.7s] and then go to grab the box. [2806.4s] So it's beside the cage, and it's about a this size box. [2813.0s] Oh, it's itty. [2814.0s] About a foot for those not playing the home game. [2818.3s] We don't put these videos out anymore. [2820.4s] It's this size. [2821.6s] It's about a foot by a foot. [2823.3s] You grab it, slide it out of its place, and then zip back. [2827.4s] And the animal or the creature has kind of calmed down. [2833.5s] OK, so you get the box back. [2834.8s] You crack the box open. [2837.3s] And inside, there are several wrapped in like almost [2845.0s] like tissue paper. [2845.8s] I don't know about tissue paper. [2847.9s] We've established arts. [2849.3s] It's wrapped in like tissue paper. [2852.4s] And each one has a seal on it. [2856.0s] With little zeds? [2857.2s] With little, with different symbols. [2860.7s] And one of the symbols is like a cloud [2866.9s] with like rain and lightning. [2871.0s] One of them is snow, like a snowflake. [2876.1s] And one of them is, there's only three [2878.6s] that you're going to find, and one of them is bubbles. [2883.9s] I say we take them all, and she can sort it out after. [2890.0s] I think you're right. [2890.9s] They're just small. [2891.9s] And I mean, Flake seems real. [2894.4s] But I mean, who knows? [2896.2s] I don't know magic stuff. [2897.4s] She should have given us better instructions. [2899.2s] So let's just take one of each and then get out of here. [2903.1s] Yeah, I agree. [2905.0s] Done. [2906.6s] You take it and put everything into the burlap sacks. [2910.1s] And then you hear from beyond the side of the ship. [2922.1s] Is that another one of those animals in the cages? [2924.7s] It sounds like it's dying. [2926.6s] No, I think it's Shu. [2927.9s] That must be Shu. [2930.2s] Oh. [2930.8s] I think there might be coming back to the boat. [2932.8s] Oh, that's not good. [2934.1s] OK. [2936.0s] Well, let's get out of here. [2938.9s] And I assume in this, we're like, I [2941.4s] was going to say below ground, but we're not below ground. [2944.2s] But there's no portals or anything. [2946.3s] We are in the cargo hold. [2947.9s] There is no cage. [2949.4s] Well, there's the ladder. [2951.2s] With all your investigation checks, [2952.7s] you would have noticed that there [2954.6s] is a mechanism that looks like it drops one of the starboard [2959.4s] side of the ship, which sounds [2961.6s] like it was described as the offloading mechanism [2964.7s] that Shu was describing, the garage. [2968.9s] But yes, the only normal way out [2973.1s] is the ladder that you came down. [2976.7s] OK, guys, real quick, do we open that one [2982.2s] and jump in the water? [2984.1s] Or we go back up the ladder and face the people? [2987.6s] Um. [2990.3s] I think depending on the amount of people, [2992.4s] that could be very problematic for us. [2997.3s] Which one? [2998.1s] Facing the people up top, yeah. [2999.8s] Well, yeah, both seem very problematic. [3003.2s] Well, I mean, they're definitely [3005.0s] going to notice the side of the ship opening up. [3009.7s] True. [3010.2s] Um. [3014.0s] I guess I was just thinking we opened it up and just jumped [3017.3s] out and just got away instead of having to fight them. [3021.8s] Fair enough. [3022.6s] But I'm not going to lie to you, these burlap sacks, [3025.3s] they're now waterproof. [3027.4s] And some of this stuff's just wrapped in tissue paper. [3037.1s] I mean, they were sealed with wax. [3038.7s] Everything should be like. [3040.2s] I guess it's on a boat. [3041.5s] You would kind of assume that things would be waterproof. [3045.0s] Barring some sort of water-related disaster, yeah. [3048.3s] Because it's like, I mean, I don't know, maybe not. [3051.5s] Were they, yeah, they were, OK. [3053.0s] You know what, the burlap sacks are lined with plastic. [3056.2s] Hey. [3057.0s] Perfect. [3057.9s] Environmentally conscious, too. [3059.8s] Right. [3060.3s] Yeah. [3062.4s] OK, well, did I say we make a swim for it? [3066.5s] You guys can swim? [3069.5s] Yeah, I can swim. [3071.4s] I guess I was thinking that way, too, that Shu wouldn't. [3075.2s] I mean, they wouldn't know. [3076.4s] He wouldn't have to lie for us. [3078.0s] Because they would never find us. [3079.6s] He could just. [3080.6s] You hear multiple loud footsteps now [3083.3s] coming aboard the main deck above you. [3086.4s] Well, I say we go now. [3088.1s] Yeah, it sounds like that's our cue. [3090.3s] OK. [3092.0s] And I'm assuming, and I guess I should have asked this, [3094.7s] but the mechanism looks like pretty obvious to open [3097.8s] the door. [3098.3s] I mean, you've been rolling like 20 after 20 for investigation. [3101.0s] Yeah, you're going to. [3102.1s] Is there a way that we can not open the entire door [3104.9s] so it doesn't slam down, but instead creaks [3107.9s] enough for us to hop? [3109.3s] And maybe we can all shimmy out? [3111.1s] Yeah. [3113.1s] Yeah, I mean, yeah, I'd say it's like a crank or a rotor [3118.3s] rather than a lever. [3119.2s] For like a drawbridge sort of thing. [3120.8s] Yeah. [3121.3s] OK. [3122.0s] Yep, so yeah. [3123.3s] So maybe we crank it slowly. [3125.3s] Yeah, we just. [3126.5s] OK. [3127.0s] Sneakily, just enough for us to get out. [3132.0s] Wiggle out the bottom. [3132.9s] OK. [3133.7s] And I mean, I guess I'm saying jump into the water. [3135.9s] If we look out there and there's no one on the dock [3138.1s] and we can just get onto the dock, let's do that. [3141.0s] And I'm assuming they'll be like people. [3142.9s] Yeah, fair enough. [3144.4s] OK, yeah, you slowly begin to rattle this side door down [3149.4s] and it's like the chicken looking thing [3153.3s] starts to make some noise as you're doing this. [3155.9s] I throw in a date. [3157.8s] It snatches it up like date everywhere. [3161.1s] And footsteps are moving now and you [3163.6s] hear them coming down lower onto the deck above you [3167.9s] and spreading out almost like they're going back [3171.0s] to their sleeping quarters. [3174.2s] And then you hear as it gets to a point [3177.2s] where you can see out and you can see from this location [3181.2s] you'd be able to see Shu kind of nervously standing down [3184.6s] the bottom of the deck as some people are kind of walking [3186.7s] by him back up to the deck itself. [3190.4s] You see there's a bit of a gap where [3192.4s] you could drop into the water or if it [3194.5s] was open a little bit more, you could get down to the dock. [3198.3s] Are the people past us, like the people [3200.5s] from the ship returning, like would they [3203.4s] or are they still kind of streaming in front of us? [3206.2s] There's not as many of them coming up. [3208.2s] Like there's like one or two stragglers [3210.4s] kind of coming in and out. [3211.9s] Right. [3212.6s] Few people who got kicked out of the inn [3214.1s] were told they weren't allowed to have a room there. [3215.8s] They were too drunk. [3216.6s] Perhaps. [3218.1s] What do you think, guys? [3219.1s] Well, I say we go now or never. [3222.7s] OK. [3223.7s] Yeah, let's do it. [3225.4s] OK, you start to rotate the handles down [3227.9s] and the door opens further. [3230.4s] Enough to where whoever's going first. [3233.7s] OK, I'll go first. [3235.0s] Sully, you can definitely make it through easily. [3238.1s] Glim, it would be a little bit of a squeeze, [3240.9s] but you'd be able to kind of jump out and swing down. [3244.7s] Sully, you are able to sneak out. [3249.6s] Roll a stealth check as you jump down. [3255.7s] 13. [3256.7s] Shu hasn't noticed you yet. [3259.1s] But you kind of time where you see someone walking up [3261.8s] and it looks clear, you manage to jump down to the dock. [3265.2s] There is a bit of a less lit area further back on the dock [3270.2s] that if you wanted to, you could scoot over to. [3272.7s] I'm going to scoot over there and blend in with the shadows. [3276.0s] All right. [3277.0s] Moot, it's your turn. [3278.6s] Going to need a stealth roll. [3280.2s] And as you are going, you're hearing more footsteps [3283.8s] above near where the ladder down to the cargo hold is. [3287.1s] OK. [3288.6s] Oop. [3292.0s] Well, it fell down, but it was still good. [3293.7s] So I'm taking it. [3294.5s] 17. [3296.3s] Yeah, you see Sully jump and you time your exit [3299.6s] the same way that he did. [3301.2s] You jump down to the dock and follow him over [3303.3s] to this less lit area. [3304.6s] Glim, you hear from above a disgruntled crew member. [3314.0s] It's muffled, but you hear, yeah, [3317.4s] I just need to get something. [3319.0s] And then I'll go back and then we'll settle up, OK? [3324.0s] So as you are ready, make a stealth roll, please. [3330.6s] 14. [3334.0s] You squeeze through. [3335.6s] And by this point, Shue has noticed you three sneaking off. [3342.6s] And he's looking at you and wide eyed, almost like hurry up. [3347.8s] As you jump, you hear the cargo door open [3351.7s] from the ladder above and footsteps [3354.1s] coming down the ladder. [3355.9s] And then the chicken starts to make a lot of noise. [3360.2s] And as you kind of tuck and roll onto the dock [3364.1s] and move over, you hear, ey, ey, oh, left the door open. [3385.9s] The Song Long Road Ahead, based by Kavin McCloud. [3478.2s] Oh, it's like they took the bottom half of a chicken, took off the head and replaced it with [3483.9s] like the face of an alien, like from Alien, and took all the feathers off of it. Yeah. [3490.5s] It's like a naked alien chicken. Yeah. It's awful. [3496.7s] Dumbgeons & Dragons is a Dumb Dragons production.
